Grrr - I was unfairly muted/banned!
Dlainedee Ok, I'll tell you right now that I'm sick of comments like these. Moderators are not paid staff. It's actually volunteer. You do not need real life experience, you need game experience. And stop refering to players as customers. There are more f2p players then there are members. The majority of the people being banned are f2p on their throw away accounts. Mistakes will be made, and if anything I hate when a report is made wrong. But maybe what you don't understand, is that almost 99% of the time the Mods are following guidlines on how to report. The way that I look at it myself, is that I'm a player first, and a moderator second. I'll admit that when I first got modded I went and looked for rule breakers, now I'd be surprised if I got in 10 reports in a week. I play the game to have fun, not to go looking for rulebreakers. Modding isn't a skill and it doesn't make me any money. Is it jealousy or something else that drives people to hate mods so much? Or at least it seems that way, because they sure do get a bad rap most of the time..

Grrr - I was unfairly muted/banned!
Maybe you havn't spent enough time in varrock(any world) as I have. Every single day I see an auto-talker spamming away some site advertising RS cheats or rs gold. Well I'd say it's unfair to have some unsuspecting player go to that site either wanting the cheats or something, and then get hacked because the site contained a keylogger. I'll say another thing here that Jagex really does put player safety first. The first priority report is the Personal Detail one. That's the first to be looked at, and it's probably looked over very thouroughly. Your argument losses it's ground here because you can share personal info all you want over private chat. It's only between you and that other person. I don't recommend it, but it's not like other players will spy on you there. But if anything, I hate it when people do it in public. It's a private matter, so that's why it's not allowed. Hope this made sense...I just woke up

How I lost my items - by scamming, dying and others
Sadly I was "scammed" out of my Green Partyhat. It wasn't a scam really, but I trusted a friend with it, but it seemed that a pixle was worth more then our friendship. My advice: NEVER TRUST ANYONE YOU DON'T KNOW IN REAL LIFE WITH STUFF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE!

Grrr - I was unfairly muted/banned!
I have to disagree with you. I work for 2 different corporations online as a moderator. I've done this since 1999. If we are asked a specific question, like how to use the controls of a forum, or how to make a link appear, why the site is running poorly, or a tutorial type question, yes, we used canned answers. However, when it has to do with a problem, or taking action against a member, especially a paying member, then it should be on a PERSONAL level, not a canned answered one. If they are going to ban or mute, they need to explain exactly what the member did. They need to have proof, beyond a doubt. They also need to listen to the member's explanation. They need to be lenient, and extremely slow to ban or mute. If they use the excuse that they get too many emails and cannot take the time for them all, then that is no excuse. Or an extremely poor excuse. They should either hire more staff, or do as the site I work for is doing, we are called the 'Community Support Team'. If they cannot handle the work load that comes with a business that deals with customers, then they need to get out of the customer business. I just have one thing to say to this, does your corporation deal with millions of people?Hmm well personally I don't think there are 1million people that post on your forums or whatever kind of corporation you have to deal with. Personally I'm very proud of the entire Jagex staff, with as few of them that there are, they do one great job with the game and even the support. My one biggest rant in all of Runescape is that people seem to think that Reporting is a skill. Why is it that the second someone says something jokingly to a friend, people report them? It's not a skill, and honestly I hate it when people report players who are joking around with friends. I don't think it's even the fact that they are bothering you, they just report. Is it because they want to be a moderator so bad? That's not a bad thing, but you have a better chance of becoming a moderator if you act nice and helpful, rather then reporting every little thing you see. So if I could give anyone advice on Runescape, it would be to think before you report. Was the player joking with their friend? or were they purposely trying to harrass another player? I'm not saying to discontinue the use of the report menu, but I'm saying use discretion.

No matter what the situation, RWT is never acceptable. Some people think they can get away with it and do not realize that Jagex knows exactly what you know when it comes to RWT. You'd think that people would realize that if they can find a RWT website...that Jagex can too. Also an addition to Bobbinton's earlier comment, occasionly when an offense is pretty severe but the account owner appeals it, they may not remove all the blackmarks. So to those rulebreakers out there, depending on your history, you may only end up lossing half the blackmarks you attained even though you had successfully appealed.(I hope that makes sense).

Contacting Jagex?
On the main page go to 'Comment on our Service' and then go to Privacy Query (or something like that). Log in and send your message. Note-if your message is going to take up more then the alotted characters, send another message adding 'see previous message' at the begining.

Muted
If you have been Perm. muted there is a chance you can appeal. If your appeal is un-succesfull, then you will remain perm muted. I suggest perhaps making another account and changing the way you play. Learn from your lesson. The most powerful tool available to anyone in the game (whether a moderator or not) is the ignore list. Learn to use it, believe it or not it will stop almost every situation that you might get yourself in trouble in.

Brother is macroing
All accounts that were logged into that IP Will be banned. You should get the help of your parents. Also, find and remove the macroing program on your computer. Note-This is only if he is playing on the same computer as you are. If not, then you are less likely to be banned, although there is still the same internet ip.

Has Jagex got the power to steal accounts?
Never Ever Ever would Jagex do this to punish a player. When Jagex 'punishes' rule breakers, they have a set guideline on the appropriate action to take. They may mute your for a few days, mute you permanetly, or ban your account temporarily or permanently. They do not however, set your skills back. Kaleb, stop talking like you know everything, it really bothers me.

One question (scam reporting?)
I've already asked this question, however due to confidentiality, I cannot post the reply.

Has Jagex got the power to steal accounts?
No, Jagex cannot set your skills back to 1. All the game information is stored on servers. If any of you knew anything about computers, you'd know that you'd have to set the entire server back in order to effect skills, transactions, etc. Jagex does not punish by setting skills back or deleting work you've done on your account. However, if you severly broke the rules, they will take action against your account and possibly ban you to prevent you from doing anymore harm. All account information is kept in a database. Passwords are encrypted so that Jagex staff cannot just go home and get onto your account. Jagex is a company that works for you, they do not conspire against their players.

One question (scam reporting?)
I believe Jagex does not 'ban' the player if you declined the trade before you were scammed. Also, I'm not 100% sure that they action the report either because you did not lose your items.
-
Has Jagex got the power to steal accounts?
Jagex Does Not have the power to steal your account. In fact, the people that deal with your account do not even see your password. All passwords are encrypted and kept on the server. This is to prevent Jagex members who retired from doing questionable acts (although Jagex Staff members would never do that). If Jagex wants to contact you or review your account, they have a variety of tools at their disposal to do so. However, not even Andrew or Constant can see your passwords.

Turn mod Crown OFF! (And back on) With pictures
Jagex has already said they will never allow that option. It's not fair to other players whether moderator or non-mod. Player moderators represent Jagex, and if they could turn it off, they might be tempted to do un-modly things which would be bad. So I have disagree totally.

Grrr - I was unfairly muted/banned!
Ok first off, if your reporting someone who you think might be innocent, then don't report them :D Second off, I can't reveal too much here, but honestly it takes Jagex about 2 minutes to look at your appeal/query and respond. Do you realize how many people play this game and are banned? I can't reveal everything about how the system works, but believe me your one out of thousands. Actually they just hired a few more CS people so just be patient. Other than that, I can't really help you more. I am not customer support, so I can't really answer for them. However, if you have a problem with their service, you can send a query in using the customer support link on the home page.

world 82 catherby water glitch
For one, the wise old man is there to make sure that if you get stuck in the water, you will be able to telly out. (A jagex invention).

bug in castle`wars?
For a while we were unable to take tickets back inside (because they were non combat related items. However, I realised about a week ago that we are now able to take them back in again. But, if you log out while in the waiting room waiting for a game, it will automatically teleport you back into the CW hall.

Grrr - I was unfairly muted/banned!
Well first off, password scamming is an automatic ban. There are a lot of things on here that come into play with CS and your account appeals. Firstly and foremost is offence history and behaviour in game. A lot of it depends on if you've gotten in trouble for minor offenses such as cussing or something. I don't know of anyone that ever got banned just for joking around with friends and maybe cussing but the filter catches it. I agree, CS does take a little while, I've used it countless times, and just recently it took them a few days to get back to me (on my regular account). Also, they spend quiet a bit of time looking at your account history and your appeal, so they're correct in saying that they don't just "hand out" punishments. It's actually pretty fair. As for being muted by a player moderator for something you didn't do, accidents happen but it is fixed as soon as possible.

Not tutorial island again! 25+ Supporters! Support Siggies!
No! Anything but this!!! Then it would be to easy for all those macros out there to get straight into the game!

Tip.It Times Presents: The Good, The Bad and the...
I agree with Jagex on their stance on wilderness luring. A warning pops up on the screen and it automatically stops you from following someone when you are to close to the wilderness. So technically you will always know about the wilderness and its' dangers.

Grrr - I was unfairly muted/banned!
First of all you can check your blackmarks by going to the Runescape homepage and scrolling down until you see the link "appeal a ban/mute". Second I don't understand how you were muted again once you already were muted, as you realize that in order to report someone for something verbal, then you must talk within the last 60 seconds. And also, I'm level 3 on this account too, and I don't normally like to talk all that much...but don't worry because Jagex fully investigates behavior of an account before actioning someone for macroing.
