I guess I'm alone in my decision to get one. I love my current iPod, but it's pretty much dead on me, so I'm upgrading. The new iPod is $100 cheaper than I paid for mine, 10GB more, and all of the color capabilities. I think it's pretty cool that there's video, and yes, if it's got it I'll use it. Sure it might seem sort of impractical, but it's just one of those things. While we're talking cars, BTTF... Ferrari hardly makes reliable cars. Sure they are sleek and sound great, but the old $80,000 BMW is likely to have so many more options than the $250,000 Ferrari. But it's a Ferrari. That's what people are buying, the product for it's face, not it's true value. I think the iPod, while not the best on the market, is the iPod. And I load anything that might seem remotely interesting on my iPod, it just doesn't seem practical to let all that space go to waste.

I don't know, maybe it's just me... But, hypothetical situation: You go to the movies, sit down in your seat and feel a [puncture]. It's not like a note just pops up, if there was ever a note it was always there. You'd see it when you first sat down. And a note mentioning HIV would certainly be a reason not to sit in that seat huh?

At this point I could deal with the forum problems, but the start-up issue is what is bugging me. It's not like I can just turn it on and leave it for ten minutes then come back, but I have to actually start stuff and keep it going, almost like warming it up, then all of a sudden everything will work.

Hey Uzi, long time no see :). Sad to hear you're not really into graphics anymore, but I'm definately one to understand moving on in life and stuff. For those who want a sig from him, I suggest jumping right on it and accepting -- You won't regret it.

I've always thought the pinhole photography was cool. Certainly doesn't produce high quality shots, but it can be kind of cool. I'd definately be interested in the instructions :).

Lately (maybe in the past week) after startup, my computer seems to have a period (10 minutes or so) where it doesn't do a thing. When it finally opens a window, Firefox for example, it can't load the site. MSN can't log in either. Everything is running really slow, then all of a sudden everything works and it doesn't happen again. I'm stumped on this one. Next problems, and I suspect these are related to cache/cookies or similar. When going to forums, such as these, the first time I load them in a day and I get all of the new posts since my last visit with the flags indicating so. But I go to a couple of posts and go back and refresh, and all of those new flags are now marked as read. It seems to do this every time I refresh, but not on the first visit. Next, and I think this is related to the first problem. On DeviantArt, I'll be browsing and it will just randomly log me out. I'll log back in and a little while later it will log me out again. Sometimes I'm logged in when I go there for the first time in a day, and other times I'm logged out. Don't know if anyone here has experience with DA here, but I've got other problems with that site as well if anyone wishes to hear them. As for the first problem being a virus, it's highly unlikely. I do updated AdAware/Norton scans frequently, and hardly anything is ever picked up. My system is fully updated. Thanks for the help.

honestly id love to throw my laptop in the dishwasher to clean it...but unfortunatley due to uhhh circumstances with water and electricity.... Guess I didn't find it necessary to mention that. Next time I'll have my lawyer to write the post, so expect no more mixups :).

This might sound like a bad idea at first, but throw it in the dishwasher. I didn't clean my keyboard for three years or so and it looked pretty bad. It's a pretty time consuming process, so might want to have a back up keyboard if you can't leave the computer for a few hours. So take all of the keys off, one by one. Once you get one out the rest are easy, but use a screwdriver or something to take off the first one. The space/shift/enter keys on my board had bars on them or additional support, so they might take some more careful pulling. Unscrew the keyboard back and observe how it goes together. Mine was a little harder to take apart because of the media buttons and whatnot at the top.Shake out all of the junk outside or something. Make sure your keys are in a safe place in the dishwasher so they don't fly all over and get melted or something (because just one ruined key would be a reason for a new keyboard). The washing will get rid of the dirt on the keys and under/in the keyboard itself. Don't assemble it until everything is really dry, I used the air compressor to blow out all of the spaces in the keys otherwise I think it would take overnight or longer for them to dry. Put it back together carefully just as it was before. I greased the shift/space/enter keys on the bars, but I think it might have been wise to do them all, it might get rid of that noise that keyboards are famous for. Might be time to do another cleaning even though it hasn't been more than six months.

I went and got some of those palm pilot screen protectors and put them on the screen and scroll wheel (it still works after you put it on). I should have put them on the back too, but I thought the skin I had would work for that. It didn't, because whenever dirt gets in there and you take the skin off you have a scratch. Mine's pretty scratched up and it ALWAYS has the skin on it unless I have it charging. Oh, and don't charge with the skin on, the head might cause the sides to pop out which isn't too good.

Don't forget about the DaVinci Code with Tom Hanks. Not sure when that comes out, I think early 2006.

These are favorites as in I have a good number of songs that I listen to on a regular basis, and really enjoy rather than just like one of the songs or something. I could come up with a list just as long as everyone else but those would be only bands I like, not entirely favorites. Make sense? Red Hot Chili Peppers Dispatch Dave Matthews Band Jack Johnson Ben Harper

I like them, not a diehard fan or anything but good stuff.

I have one in the car I bought, and I had some skipping issues. I blamed it on being 8 years old (the car is 12) and low quality equipment. I put a new deck in and left the CD's in the player and now I can't get them out though, apparently there's no manual removal of the magazine. Don't make that mistake... MAybe run one of those cleaning disks through it? It could just be fairly dirty. Also things like that tend to pick up on any imperfections in the CD so make sure your disks are clean.

I don't make a routine of watching the show, but I have a bit and have a concept of what's going on. Last night we got this satellite thing installed kinda like Tivo where you can rewind, pause, etc., the tv. So I came in at the end of the show and rewound to the beginning, fast forwarded through commercials, and finished it. Was pretty cool. The show certainly makes you want to watch more.

School isn't so bad, it's a part of life. I don't like boring classes, fun ones are cool. Of course there's the social aspect of school which goes beyond actually being at school (like stuff on weekends), which is in my eyes the best part about school.

First of all, if you know your weakness (in this case, you're shy) then you are the only one who can change that. If you really want a girlfriend, then you really need to change your mannerism and not be so shy. Next, tell me how many times you see a gorgeous girl with an unattractive guy (not that you should be judging other guys, but you can generally tell the good ones from the bad ones). You should know that they don't care about looks as much as personality. Confidence is key. Never put yourself down, either in your head or outloud. You almost have to be cocky to survive. I guess it depends on the girl you're going for though. Oh and it sounds if you're desperate. Women have a sixth sense for detecting desperation, so don't make it sound like you need them. Since you're shy you probably won't do this at all but it's key to just be able to start a conversation with anyone. It's not so hard to talk to guys is it? Why should girls be any different than guys to talk to?

At the moment Jack is one of my favorite singers. Went to his concert this summer, it was great. The new CD is good, but his older stuff is even better in my eyes (or ears if you will). Check out Brushfire Fairytales, his first CD.

Sadly I just speak English, but I can understand most Spanish. I really wish I learned a language fluently, but I guess it's my own fault.

I'm Jewish, but I can't say I follow the beliefs so much. I believe in a higher power, call it God or whatever you wish. I don't believe this thing controls our every act or even cares what we do, but is there. I don't like organized religion in the sense that it's too political anymore (when hasn't it been?). I guess fanaticism in any genre, be it religion, politics, beliefs, etc., is too much. So closing yourself out to only a certain set of beliefs is not leaving room for other possibilities, and just being somewhat close-minded. It's like if I were to call myself a Christian, wouldn't I be restricted to only the beliefs of a Christian? But I'm Jewish, and I believe something totally different, and there are even some Jewish beliefs I disagree with. Obviously one of the many religions is more 'right' than others, so why not pick up on other beliefs and sort of mix them. That would be ideal for me, studying other religions and choosing the beliefs that are right for me. I'm a unique person, as is everyone else. I don't think I should have the same beliefs as anyone else. My real pet-peeve on religion is converting. In my eyes, if a person is down to the point where they need religion in their life, they will seek it. I guess when people come up to me asking if I want to be their religion it's no biggy, but if I wanted to be any religion I would explore the possibilities and choose based on their beliefs. But converters are simply salespeople, they need to know how to convince you to go with them and their choice. I don't like dealing with used-car salesmen either. They just don't seem to accept 'No' for an answer. If they respected the beliefs of those who they are trying to convert, they would leave after "No thanks."

Anyone can get iTunes, just go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and download it. Songs however cost for anyone, and there aren't any freebies for Apple buyers.

I think I found out what's going to replace my old piece of junk iPod. I knew they had something in the mix, but not this cool.

Even though this hardly helps, it's better than nothing. Go to your local Wal-Mart (assuming they have an attached gas station) and buy a "shoppers card" or whatever they call it. If you use that card at the pump you save 3 cents a gallon. Locally we have a place called WinCo, and if you spend more than $50 on food you can get 5 cents off a gallon at the gas station next to it. Things seem to have steadied a little around here, I'm topping off the tank almost every other day just incase.

Nice. I bet it was good. I would go and see him if I had the chance. I actually considered going to his next show which is a couple hours drive away two nights later.
-
I went to Jack Johnson, that's it. It was pretty good, I enjoyed myself.
-
really? at all the gas stations around here the pumps shut off at $75. suvs cant even fill up anymore. unless they want to go in and pay the 75 and then come back out to get the rest, and then go back in to pay again. He did have two reciepts. Maybe in lieu of recent events the limit was upped.
