  1. Well, I'll comment that when I first bought my computer five years ago, service was great. That was before they started going to India for service, and it's gone all the way down from there. Good thing it's been out of warranty for a while now, so I don't need to deal with them. I also wanted to do something sort of custom through them online, and no they don't do anything like what you were requesting, and the service was totally unprofessional. I don't care about the parts and stuff though, it's all the same to me. It's easier for someone with no computer knowledge to just go to Dell rather than build their own.
  2. It wasn't a rootkit apparently. I tried doing the chkdsk fix, and it went through a series of checks or fixes, but the drive still doesn't work and has the same problems as stated above. Is it possible, when the console asked which Windows directory to look in (I had no idea, I just entered 1 and something happened :P), that I should have entered something else? Thanks again :).
  3. Ok, too much flaming and it's getting off topic in a bad way.
  4. The drive is like the one which originally came with the computer, so hardware speaking it's up to date, but it's firmware might need to be updated. I tried doing this but had a problem before it could even start with it. It doesn't register when I put an audio CD in iTunes or Windows Media Player, however it appears in My Computer. When an audio CD is in the drive and I want to explore the drive, it's as if there's nothing on the disk. It does appear in the Device Manager and it says that the drive is working properly. I would go buy a new one, but in an attempt to fix the problem the first time around, I switched the drive with a slightly newer drive with equal function from another computer in the house. It worked when it was on that computer, and the drive that I put in that computer (the one I was first having problems with) now works in that computer, but the drive that was originally in that computer (the one that I'm having trouble with) isn't working now. I will confirm a good connection when I turn this off for the night, but from the other symptoms I suspect the problems are different. Thanks a lot for the help.
  5. I'm not open to people until I get to know them. That is that I don't really tell them much about myself, but I still am talkative and could probably talk with anyone until I can see what kind of person they are first. I guess I'm kind of funny but I don't crack jokes or anything, it's just the different way of looking at things and describing that people find funny. It's cool that people like me just for being me. I'm a good listener too, and confident and comfortable about who I am. I'm never truely angry, because for 99% of things that happen for the worst there's nothing you can do about, so I can't trip over that.
  6. I think there's one legitimate reply to this post, and it's just a rant.
  7. Yes, I have Windows Media Player. It says to insert a blank disk in the drive. Is it possible that the drive isn't registering? It shows up in My Computer as being the CD-RW Drive, but doesn't register what is in it.
  8. Lately my computer is giving me trouble burning CDs of any kind, be it music or data. In iTunes (the most convenient burner I have), I put a blank disk in and click burn and the CD drive opens as if it wants me to put in a blank disk. I tried using another burning program I have, and it's the same problem. At some point it would burn maybe the first three or four tracks then the rest would be bad. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    SNL :)

I like SNL, it's a pretty good show if I'm ever awake to see it. Since we're comparing though, I think MadTV is a little crude for my tastes, I just don't like the sense of humor they use on that show. It's just like a little less mature than SNL if there's such a thing.

    pictures

No, links to pictures aren't allowed. It's just as easy to take advantage of this exploit through the forums or through another site, so it's just not safe. Thanks for asking though.
  12. Garden State had a good one. I like the indie stuff, and it's just good stuff to listen to.
  13. I don't really believe in it, but a little background on the Mayans... They were a race from Mexico and Central America, they did math too. They had a calendar and did mathematical predictions to predict solar eclipses, full moons, and celestial things, and they predicted even through current times. Their predictions have been off only by seconds, which by any means is pretty amazing considering they did this a couple thousand years ago. They also predict that the world will end in December, 2012. They don't see it as a bad end, but a good one where the people of earth will pretty much see something they've never seen before and will be forever enlightened. The actual day in December isn't certain, some think the 12th (12/12/2012), some think the 21st (Winter solstace), and others think the 23rd, but I don't know why. If the world does end in my lifetime, I can only hope that it's spectacular. But what am I going to do about it anyway? :P
  14. I don't know, I don't really have any rules. I don't really work out but I try to not eat horribly. I don't know what I do eat, but I don't eat potato chips (or doritos or cheetos, or whatever else), don't drink soda, try to not eat high fat/high cholesterol foods or foods that go through a lot of processing. They aren't really good anyway. Fried foods never set well with me, weak stomach. For some reason I'm just down after I eat fatty foods, so I don't do it. I've heard its good to eat many meals in a day for working out, like 6+. And the in between meals shouldn't be just small snacks either. Fruit is good to eat there, nuts are really good for you. Red meat is good in smaller amounts, and eggs and complex carbs (noodles, rice, potatoes, etc.) are good too.

    School

I like the socializing more than anything. I don't mind going to class for the most part, I just don't like getting/doing work.

    Dick Clark

Was kinda funny... I was at my friend's house, he was already asleep and wouldn't wake up. I turned on the TV to celebrate with myself anyway and I got it on right when the 10 second countdown started. That's all I really care about :P. I didn't pay any attention to what the entertainment was on though.
  17. Yeah, I shut the light off. It's like automatic for me, like flushing and washing my hands. At school though you can't, so I don't. Whenever I leave a room I turn off the light, minus a lamp or something :P.

    Happy New Year!

Hehe, all you people in Europe getting it early, it's still like 7 and a half hours away for me :P.
  19. This is just spammy... And everyone is posting all spammy... So no reason to keep it up.
  20. Ok, don't think there's any reason to post GIFs and stuff like that.
  21. The only big deal I can see about being drunk is that it's another thing to do that altars your normal state of mind, and people seem to love that. Drugs are one of the world's biggest industries. Alcohol tends to altar judgment for the worse, but for some people that means higher confidence, but way too much most times. They do stuff they never would do, and most times just don't care about things they normally would care about. It's rare that you don't hear a story from someone like getting drunk then doing something they don't want to. It's illegal for minors to posess and I've definately seen my share of people getting minor in posession (MIP) or driving under the influence (DUI), and the punishment is bad news, enough to keep me away from the stuff.
  22. Please be aware that there are two sig testing threads found in each media board. Use those please. Thanks.
  23. Kind of inappropriate for these boards...
  24. Since you're not in the market for one, I can't tell why you would start this post. The last comparison ended up in a ridiculous argument, please don't let this one end up as such.
