So.. I was reading though that "anyone else like to work out thread" and I do work out, but I need help on healthy eating  Excercise really isn't enough...right?

And while I was reading through it- eating my mostacholi (spelling?) and drinking seirra mist... I realized it more.

Soo..what I'm asking can I have some healthy meal tips or anything like that?

Thanks, pce.

I don't know, I don't really have any rules. I don't really work out but I try to not eat horribly. I don't know what I do eat, but I don't eat potato chips (or doritos or cheetos, or whatever else), don't drink soda, try to not eat high fat/high cholesterol foods or foods that go through a lot of processing. They aren't really good anyway. Fried foods never set well with me, weak stomach. For some reason I'm just down after I eat fatty foods, so I don't do it.

I've heard its good to eat many meals in a day for working out, like 6+. And the in between meals shouldn't be just small snacks either. Fruit is good to eat there, nuts are really good for you. Red meat is good in smaller amounts, and eggs and complex carbs (noodles, rice, potatoes, etc.) are good too.

Be sure to drink lots of water, eat a fair amount of fruit, and take it easy of the fried fast food. The way I see it, the key to healthy eating is moderation. You can eat whatever you want, but if it's unhealthy, don't eat large amounts of it.

Drop the softdrinks and get banned from every fast food restaurant. If you don't want that, do it in moderation, eat fast food like once or twice a month, but have a non-softdrink as the beverage (energy/fruit punch). Or if you you have to eat out most of the times, buy wraps or subs instead of fried chicken or burger or pizza.

And like Peter said, 6 small meals is better than 3 huge ones. I know that's what athletes' diet are. Eat like a bird to keep their energy up. And keep your body hydrated, drink lots of water.

Good diet also helps to keep your face pimple free :P

Lots of water is definitely important. Also, I recommend the food pyramid:

Trying to get exactly the right number of servings is too tedious to bother with, but if you always think about the different food groups and try to get in a little bit of each group each day, you'll probably do all right.

And like someone said, stay away from overly-processed foods. I eat as "naturally" as possible, without making a religion out of it.

Healthy eating in general or is it a kind of diet thing you're looking for? Different diets work for different people, however, if it's just healthy eating you're looking for; that food pyramid works well. 5 balanced meals spread throughout the day, I've told, is healthy, making sure you get a good mix of nutrients; carbohydrates, vitamins, iron, fibre, protein and what have you.

Different meals will contain more of a certain supplement, for example: breakfast is more likely to have more of carbohydrates (to get you going in the morning) fibre, calcium if it's milk with cereal and vitamins if you have a piece of fruit with it.

I heard or read somewhere that an apple is more effective at 'waking you up' in the morning than coffee, so try that! It's helping you start your day while promoting healthy eating.

Have fun, and good for you for watching what you eat! :)

I'd say the main thing you need to stop consuming is sugary drinks, and tasty additions to stuff like mayonnaise.

Something you should consciously start to eat more of is vegetables. Of course grains/dairy/fruits are important too, but they seem to be eaten whether or not you're trying to eat healthy.

Well, since most people don't listen to advice anyway, I might as well just say how some basic things help keep you thin. Lots of water, lots of fruit (delicious and...cheap!) and almost no fast food. Coke and such is fine, so long as you don't have it everyday. Have at max 2 soft drinks in a week, and I'd say at max eat out a week. With these simple steps, and a few other simple things (like don't have a whole cheesecake everyday etc. you should be able to figure this out for yourself.) Also, eat lots, don't make yourself hungry because when you're out and you're hungry, you're probably gonna pick up something unhealthy.

Lay off the soft drinks.

Thin doesn't necessarily mean healthy

The process he described for getting thin would certainly ensure that it was healthy in this case.

Aside from what everyone else said, only eat when hungry. If your full, don't try and convince yourself that one more bite of such and such is fine or a little dessert is okay. Usually, if you have to reason with yourself as to why you should be allowed to eat such and such, you probably shouldn't be eating it.

Well to be honest I could 'drink lots of water, have loads of fruit and no fast food' and be anorexic...

Alas, the new food pyramid was not in the first three results of my google image search, so he'll have to make do with the old version. It keeps me healthy. :D

EDIT: Well, it keeps me skinny, anyway, I guess "healthy" is debatable...

Anorexic != thin

Having anorexia means you have an eating disorder.

If you're drinking lots of water, loads of fruit, and no fast food, you're not anorexic. All anorexia is is basically not having an appetite, and you just don't ever feel like eating.

You don't ever feel like eating but you have to even if its just some fruit and water..

Dotn really have any tips seeing as im not the most healthy person myself, but here is one thing, ignore anyone who says carbohydrates are bad. They are good as long as you exercise. They provide the slow burnign energy to keep you going for along time.
