I'd like to know.... Who on TIF was The Sweatpants Kid in elementary school? I know I wasn't, but every grade had The Sweatpants Kid.

It sounds pretty good so far. I missed when they played it at Hot Topic, so I guess I'll just have to buy it when it comes out.

I assume you've listened to "Psychosocial" and nothing else. If you have listened to "All Hope Is Gone" the song, you would probably retract that statement. But hey, let's just go ahead and judge an entire album on the radio single from it. Sounds good to me.

Saw him live with the rest of the guys in my band and we all agreed on the fact that when we saw him, he was definitely NOT sloppy.

Believe me I have seen most of his other work, because I really do hate his radio stuff. I heard about his "good" work from a friend, but I don't think he's one of the best guitarists because of it.

I think a lot of the champions come from the tri-state area (Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa) if I'm not mistaken, because I see at least once a month some new record time from a local kid on the Twin Cities news stations.

Well I'm with you on not believing in the conventional sense of god, but when humans were created, according to christian beliefs, they were created in "his likeness". So that kinda throws out your theory on what he is supposed to look like.

I believe god is our conscience. Our conscience tells us what is right and wrong, and whether you follow that is your choice.

I saw them when they played St. Paul. It was absolutely awesome, they played for 3 and a half hours straight. No warm up band either. But bands I have seen live: Rage Against the Machine at Alpine Valley Ampitheatre. 45,000 people crammed into an outdoor ampitheatre to see Rage play their 3rd concert in 8 years. Truly the most magical event I have experienced in my life. My favorite was the one where the guy's wife hated him reading all the time so he would take his lunch breaks in the vault reading at the bank where he worked. One day there was a nuclear holocaust of some sort, but since he was in the vault he was alive. Guy walks out and finds everyone dead, but finds the local library intact. Goes and grabs a pile of books and is about to sit down to read them all when his coke bottle-esque glasses fall to the ground and he steps on them, breaks them, leaving him completely blinded.

Seriously? You must not listen to much music if you classify Jack White or John Mayer as the best. They might be able to write a catchy tune, but their technical ability is nowhere near most of the guitarists listed so far

I have to agree. When I was young I couldn't leave my block. If I wanted to go to the playground near my old house (3 blocks away) my mom went with me. These days I see kids who are maybe 7 or 8 years old trying to cross main roads (35+mph, high traffic, poor drivers, etc). My mom would killed me herself before she let me attempt that as a kid.. I think it is the opposite. When I was little I used to walk to the park or friends houses or just explore by myself. My little cousin can't even play outside by himself because my aunt's afraid of child molesters. I think it really depends on the parents. I wasn't allowed to cross Hwy 63 (main highway in our town that splits east from west side) until I was in 5th grade. Of course most of my friends lived on my side of 63, so it wasn't too much of a problem.

I got ENFP. To my observations, no one else on TIF so far has gotten ENFP. According to one description, ENFP's make up only 2-3% of the population. I got a pretty good feel that it described me well. Damn near got my attention right away. That is perfect. Just got back from Rockstar Mayhem on Monday. Saw Slipknot, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Mastodon, Machine Head, Black Tide, Airbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, and 36 Crazy Fists. Going to see Rage Against the Machine September 3rd. The day before the RNC, hopefully some rioting. My band (http://www.myspace.com/ataraxy1metal) is playing a huge 18th birthday party next Friday.

I made a topic about this (http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=746366) two months ago :D But hey, any Slipknot topic is worthy of reposting. But yeah, I'm very excited for it especially after seeing them live. They played 3 songs off Vol. 3 and Psychosocial. Everything else was from Iowa or Self Titled. That makes me feel like they're going back to their more brutal roots with the new album.

Well as long we're pointing out obvious things, I'd like to say that today I had hot dogs for lunch and that I woke up around 9:30am. Of course age is about how long you've been living! However, age is USUALLY directly correlated with how much life experience and how much physical and mental maturity you have. I still pose the question to you about your children. Say you have an 18 year old son and a 12 year old son. Which would you trust to be more responsible with their own homework? With consuming alcohol? With doing chores around the house? Point in case, in 99.9% of cases, an older person is going to be more mature and responsible with life choices than a younger one. QED.

I find it slightly ironic that you did not address 90% of my post. Care to use your above average reading skills on the rest of it?

Riku, here's a little tip for you: Book Smarts =/= Common Sense and decision making I know scores of kids that were in high school that were book smart, but didn't have the least bit of common sense. Now I'm not saying you are like that at all, but those two things do not equal each other. Just because you can read a book that is a higher level of you or because you pass a test does not mean that you are classified as a 16 year old. It just means you are more advanced FOR YOUR AGE. Trust me, everyone pretty much catches up to you. I'd like to have a little chat with you when you graduate high school because I can 100% guarantee you that your views on children in middle school having the same responsibilities and the same abilities as adults will DEFINITELY change. Would you trust your 12 year old child to drink or your 18 year old child? And please, don't say neither, because that's just avoiding my point. And by the way, there were no 16 year olds at the party. It was the 17 and 18 year olds that told a 13 year old middle schooler to stop drinking. There is even quite a jump in maturity from 16 to 17. Through your logic we might as well just go ahead and teach sex-ed to 5 year olds, right? Why do they not have the right to learn about their bodies? Hell, some of them might be at the reading level of middle schoolers! And we all know middle school is where we first get taught sex-ed. See the flaw in your logic?
