  1. Haha not much, just thought I'd get you on a technicality :P
  2. In case you didn't notice, I hate desktop icons, but I love Danny Carey's Paiste Bronze Kit.
  3. Technically since we citizens elected all our representatives, members of congress, and our president, we indirectly declared war. I think most of the country backed declaring war when this all happened. Our elected officials represent the population of The United States of America. Personally, they do not represent me, but that's only because I choose to remain apathetic.
  4. Dark Side of the Moon full album. I can never get sick of listening to this masterpiece. It's just so beautiful and eye-opening.
  5. You just completed one of my life goals, man. Except substitute Greece in there along with Egypt. NZ looks like the place I would have liked to go the most. I took a trip out to NYC 4 years ago and absolutely loved the city, but I hated the Empire State Building (very afraid of heights :ohnoes: ) and the 90 mph winds swaying the building just didn't do it for me though haha.
  6. This is just my personal opinion, but I believe that bands that "play in the name of god" are exploiting Christianity. I'm not saying that they do it consciously (although I wouldn't be surprised if some do), but when you have a message that says "We believe in god, and our band is dedicated to playing music devoted to Jesus", I think that you can get more people to buy a poorly produced or not artistically talented record as long as it is "for Jesus". Now I'm not saying that Underoath is a horribly untalented band (in fact I find their drummer to be particularly talented), but I just don't enjoy the possibility of bands exploiting something that may be very personal to a certain group of people (myself not included). And I guess the fact that I can't stand listening to bands that sing about god, but that's just because I'm an Agnostic.
  7. I think the only people that should really be affected by this day are the ones who lost family or friends in it. Most people on these boards didn't even really comprehend the gravity of the situation when it happened. Most of you were in elementary school. Sure your teacher told you what happened, but I bet you any amount of money the next few days the talk at the lunch table over peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches was definitely NOT about the soon to be war on terror or the mechanics behind the attacks. Was it a terrible thing? Absolutely, but so are many other things that have happened to innocent civilians around the world (as stated by previous references to World War 2 and Africa) that don't get nearly as much attention as this. As a country we need to collectively get over this whole deal. I think in my lifetime my parents have only said ONCE where they were when Kennedy was assassinated, and it seems to me that when the President of the United States is killed, that's a bigger deal. The idea of extreme patriotism when something happens to your country and being massively upset about it, is quite pointless if you ask me.
  8. Am I the only one that is sick of hearing about where people were "when it happened"? It just seems like every story is the same.
  9. I'm sorry, but I just get a little irked when people just put a picture up that says "fail" instead of staging an argument against what was said and backing it up with fact and or opinion. Had he said "I don't think this list is good at all because..." and then named off a few reasons, I would have left it alone because that's his opinion. I just get really sick of people overusing "fail" or motivational posters.
  10. It might be flawed in a few spots, but I don't understand how it can be "epic fail" as you describe it. Do you have a solo in mind you would like to see on the list? I know I have at least one, maybe two. I'm really getting sick of 13 year-old internet morons finding pictures of Captain Kirk facepalming or something that says FAIL, and applying it to something that might just be slightly misconstrued or incorrect. The only thing that "fails" here is you. I'm sure someone of your musical knowledge (judging by the Guitar Hero signature you have) should have obviously been appointed to come up with this list.

    Muse

Actually they're quite popular. Most of my high school listened to Muse. I have most of their albums.
  13. Bulls On Parade is a pretty unique "scratching" solo, while Killing's solo is just a whammy pedal with some sixtuplets (which are at a very slow tempo, I might add). I can see the justification of Bulls' solo, but I would argue that the solo in Testify is better than the one in Bulls, hell, he plays with his amp cord... But I definitely agree with you on the second part of your statement.
  14. That whole song is fantastic, even the drumming was great for the time.
  15. Actually, I think you could take many of his solos out of their songs and they would be just as good. I just saw Rage last Wednesday, and Morello did a few minute-long solos with nothing but a drum beat or nothing at all behind them.
  16. Here's why that list absolutely fails: Eruption. One of the easiest guitar solos of all time It's cliche, but I think Jambi's solo is well crafted in technique along with an odd time signature(6/4. I'd put it near Money by Pink Floyd) At least put Tool on the list. Stairway to Heaven. GREAT song, but not that great of a solo. Here's why that list is pretty damn good: NO WHITE STRIPES. Finally a list that doesn't include the absolutely over-hyped Jack White. Tom Morello. Some of the most innovative ways to play the guitar were started with this guy. Frank Zappa. 'Nuff said.
  17. Just say no to HARD Drugs. That's always been my motto. Along with showing Requiem For a Dream in health class. That shows the realities of drug use and abuse.
  18. Renaissance: Paris 2054 I was absolutely blown away with this movie. Such beautiful animation.
