  1. Although I absolutely hate his drumming and think people make all too much of a big deal of him, I do think that it's quite unfortunate that this happened.
  2. Yeah he has only been doing it for a small amount of time, he's getting a lot better than he used to be. Thanks for the good replies so far
  3. I know plenty of homosexual men and none of them proclaim to have chosen to be gay. It just happens. Whether it is triggered later in life, or it happens at birth, it is not a choice. I have never known a gay person to EVER say it was just an offhand choice. Why would anyone want to choose to be something that ignorant societies shun and limit rights to?
  4. If this should be moved to another thread, please let me know. Well, I've been in a band with a 2 of my really good friends since last December. We have 1 (ONE) guitarist, 1 (ONE) Bassist/Vocalist, and 1 (ONE) drummer. I play drums in this band. We started recording/mixing this demo in the last week in June. It is a 4 song demo and will hopefully be released in the next 2-3 weeks. We recorded with a guy who is quite a professional at this type of thing. He has been in a band that played in Los Angeles and usually takes trips out to California to mix bands. He also owns two music stores in the Twin Cities area. Anyways, the deal is, we would appreciate to get a larger listening/fan base, and I thought this might be a good place to get the word out. I'm not asking for you to buy a copy of our demo, but if you have a MySpace, please add us and give the 2 songs we have up a listen to. If you have any criticisms, please do so via PM. Any other comments are welcome to be posted here. Thanks for your time. -Range_This11 http://www.myspace.com/ataraxy1metal
  5. What's wrong with driving a Prius? I had a buddy of mine that drove from Des Moines all the way up to St. Cloud to visit me, and he only used 3 gallons of gas. That's a 5 hour+ trip. If I could afford to buy one, I would do it in a heartbeat. And Starbucks ain't that bad either. Hippies do suck though. Personally I hate pacifism. It serves no purpose.
  6. BAD. Very bad. We must always be in dissent.
  7. Johnny Cash and John Ritter died the same day back in '04. That was one of the worst days of my life.
  8. I'm in love with this drummer. God damn. H. by Tool
  9. Half of those are taken out of context and would make sense in any sentence. You're just trying to use them to make Obama look bad. I was just laughing at the video and how they had him repeat it for over one minute. And I guess that the fact that McCain is stuttering old man, too. This one isn't any of him messing up, but it's just funny. Especially if you've seen the Bill O'Reilly flip out video.

Tool or Rush. At least those ones have very talented bass players.
  11. I used to have the same mindset as you did. To me, drinking alcohol is far worse than smoking pot. I started smoking this summer and since I've started (July) I've only smoked 4 times. I don't go out and act like I'm stoned and do stupid stuff. Most of the time I sit around and listen to some of my favorite music. When you're high, you pick up every little detail that is in the song. The only times there are long term affects on either smoking or drinking, is when people do it out of moderation. If you do it responsibly, there is no harm that can come of it.
  12. The Continental Congress and George Washington as a leader came years after tax officers were being tarred and feathered; they are completely unrelated. The mobs were not trying to start a revolution and none of the colonists even wanted to separate from England, but to them the Intolerable Acts were taking it too far on England's part. They were not represented in Parliament and the King had ignored repeated attempts from the Colonists and from Benjamin Franklin (who was living in London at the time). They wanted to show that they were not going to sit back as England unfairly taxed them. They just wanted to make a statement and then go back into being English subjects.
  13. I definitely agree. Wish You Were Here is such a sad album when you know the story about it.
  14. On the Iraq Pakistan border. On the Iraq Pakistan border. On the Iraq Pakistan border. On the Iraq Pakistan border. On the Iraq Pakistan border. On the Iraq Pakistan border.
  15. That's unfortunate. Some of the most talented musicians come from progressive bands.
  16. You haven't lived. Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon were two of the best albums to come out of the 1970s. Pink Floyd, along with King Crimson, were the innovators of prog rock.
  17. My favorite Pink Floyd song. It describes life absolutely perfectly. It's a sad day for me. I pray I never know the day when Gilmour dies. Wright's keyboard skills were absolutely perfect; he knew what chords to play and when to play them.
  18. Funny...I have both of these. I guess it comes with being a drummer.
