  1. How about Muddy Waters or Howlin' Wolf.
  2. I looked at your Last.fm and I saw you already like Tool, but I'm still suggesting that you sit down with the lyrics in an internet window open and listen to the entire Lateralus album front to back. My second recommendation would be to listen to De-Loused In the Comatorium by The Mars Volta front to back. Pretty interesting concept album. Check this Wikipedia Description. The album has had amazing reviews and received a few awards from magazines. I've completely stopped listening to my iTunes on shuffle anymore. Good albums are like great paintings. There are many facets to them and many small brushstrokes, just like in an album there are small time changes and different songs, but when they're put all together they make one amazing picture that can't be achieved by listening to a single song or looking at a single brushstroke.
  3. I think you'd have to be a very small person in order to get alcohol poisoning from a whole 750.
  4. It's actually quite sad how some kids my age have little appreciation for well brewed beer, though. Some are only meant to be enjoyed one or two at a time.
  5. When you're done with that one read The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck. Amazing writing. I'm re-reading East of Eden. Such beautiful poetic writing.
  6. I don't even consider them Lynyrd Skynyrd anymore.
  7. There's just no point. Especially in college you just have to know anyone over 21 to get it. It's so easy where I'm at. High school is trickier, but I was lucky to have an older sister that would buy for me and my friends whenever.
  8. I understand where you're coming from, but I was just trying to point out that most 17 and 18 year old children do not drink beer for refreshment. I might have one if it's extremely cold, but most of the time they just want to get "hammered". Older people will do it for refreshment, but not younger ones. That was my point.
  9. Name one good reason why suicide is a tragedy. There are a few. I would call that a tragedy too. I.E. Suicide can -> Tragedies. I'm with you on that first part. Suicide is not an option. Ever. It isn't justified either. But surely it is a sad thing? As for the second part, I somehow doubt you have had clinical depression. It seems like a plausible, justified option to people in severe enough cases, it is a psychological, what would you say, handicap maybe, that drastically affects the way a person thinks. I'm still not saying it's right to do. All those reasons you gave are indirectly related to suicide. The death of the person is not a tragedy whatsoever, but what happens to their families is. I have no remorse for a suicidal person.
  10. Damn. I'm only going to be 50. Maybe I should stop smoking....nah. The Reds are too tasty.
  11. I'm sorry, but anyone who tries to tell you that they like drinking beer or anything other than Mike's or Smirnoff is full of it. People don't drink beer for the taste. Especially not young people.
  12. Name one good reason why suicide is a tragedy. It's so stupid, selfish, and pointless. Not one good thing comes from suicide. The people that commit suicide only create pain and sadness for their family and friends. There was a guy that just jumped off a freeway overpass in my town and was hit by 3 cars. The first that hit him was a pregnant lady. She lost her child because of him. I get REALLY pissed off when people try to say that suicide is justified/sad/an option. People who commit suicide are the most unintelligent halfwits in this world.
  13. I don't know either...I agreed with what you posted. Either he doesn't drink and just wants to say, "Oh, I drink, but I do it responsibly and never get intoxicated" or he just really has no idea what he's talking about. Some of these arguments seem to be the propaganda response that your health teacher gave you in 8th grade...
  14. Suicide isn't a tragedy. Suicide is stupid.
  15. Well I'm going to be the first to tell you that your "bio teacher" was full of it. I've had 3 close friends have alcohol poisoning. It's not something to laugh about or just let it roll off the cuff. It happens, and it happens because kids are stupid. Personally, I could be more prone to alcohol poisoning because I do not throw up as easily as others, and due to my size (6'4" 220), I do not feel the affects of alcohol as soon as a smaller person may. I can take in more alcohol than an average person, but not feel as drunk. I've been drinking for a couple years now and I have never thrown up from drinking. I have put down 3/4 or a 1.75 of Captain Morgan in a night, and didn't throw up. I'm not trying to brag here, just trying to say that alcohol affects different people in different ways. It's quite easy to get alcohol poisoning. That said, I think that the drinking age should be lowered. But I don't really care because living in Wisconsin, I can drink anytime I want as long as my parents are present, and they don't care if I drink or not.
  16. You really had to make the boobs with the parenthesis and periods? Seriously...
  17. I am leaning towards supporting it, but I'm still very leery of it at the same time. I can see this turning into Brave New World so fast...
  18. http://www.myspace.com/ataraxy1metal We're about 3 weeks off releasing our first EP. Only 4 songs, but they're pretty well done. We had a professional producer record and mix us and are getting the CDs sent off to Arizona to be made with album artwork and some cardboard outsides to hold the CDs. No music on the Myspace currently, but once we get the EP out, we'll have it up.
  19. Requiem For Dream. For the millionth time.
  20. College Student. I give my money to the school. Same reason why I haven't been posting as much. Never knew how much school takes up your time :|
