When it's in the news and people are discussion putting guns in a classroom of course we're going to get pissed off. And when it all goes away because it's a STUPID idea, then we'll shut up. We don't forget about it. Just because a certain topic isn't at hand doesn't mean we're not thinking about it.

One of my best friends is 5 ft. tall. She's going to be a Senior this year and looks nothing like those girls do. Hell I'm going to be 19 in 2 months and I can't grow facial hair longer than 1/2". It's...disappointing.

Mine sounds most similar to the middle one, but not the same. Chinas can really vary the most for tone out of any cymbal made. Some are more gong-like and offer a lot of resonant, full sound and would be used for individual crashes, rather than keeping a beat. Some are very small, have little resonance and offer a short splashy sound, which is usually the most desirable in modern drumming for keeping a beat.

Yeah on a national level, I doubt it will happen. That's like saying the A-Bomb wasn't a killing machine, just the pilot that dropped it, right?

A policeman is expected to know how to use a gun and use it on a daily basis. Teachers are supposed to educate students in subjects and ready them to become functioning adults. I think I'm confused here... Just face it, there is no way that teachers being able to carry a concealed firearm in the classroom will ever happen.

I actually use my China cymbal quite a bit. Usually when I'm doing some polyrythmyic beats on my bass drums combined with beats 2 and 4 on the snare (or just snare hit on beat 3 to make it a half time feel) and quarter notes on the China makes a pretty unique sound. And that's not a ring dude, it's foam dampening to take out some ring. It works better than one of those clumsy Remo O's that reduces the space you can even hit the drum. It may look like trash, but it works a hell of a lot better than an O ring. EDIT: I can give you a definite example of when I use my China. The bridge section, guitar solo, and exit section after the solo in the song "Jambi" by TOOL. My band does a cover of it.

You're implying that anyone who is outraged by this is a liberal. You can play the word games all day, but you're still going to be as see-through as cellophane. Besides, if so few are taking advantage of it, why even implement it in the first place?

Well at my school, the policy was that of all teachers are to lock doors from the inside and they are the only ones that are allowed to open it to let students in. It works relatively well. I think we have too many doomsayers here that always assume that there is a incessant need of a gun in all situations for everything to be safe. Nothing more safe than a killing machine!

I think he meant working in a piss-poor environment such as Burger King will make you appreciate any other job you would ever have.

Thanks for serving our country; you do something that I could never do. And no, that isn't meant sarcastically. That being said, there are a lot of things that this government stands for that I, and a lot of other people, do NOT stand for. Flag burning may be a way of getting attention to those matters in a pretty quick way. All it is is a catalyst to get people to pay attention. Your choice was to enter the armed forces. My choice may be to burn a flag. Just because you feel morally superior to those that do these activities does not make their activities wrong or unjustified. Perhaps I feel morally superior knowing that I will most likely never kill another human being, yet you may have to do that every day whilst on tour. I think killing someone is a little less justified than burning a piece of fabric.
