  1. That means you have good analytical skills :P I'm in the same boat, whenever there's a reference and I get it I feel proud as hell. The more obscure the better haha.

    Today...

My campus was nuts when Obama got elected in 2008. People partying and celebrating and such, though I doubt it'll be like that again this time around. There are a lot of people with booths to get you registered to vote and they make the process really easy because they know most college kids are so [bleep]ing lazy they won't put down the bag of Cheetos, throw a pair of sweatpants on, and head to a polling place to vote. Expect to get handed a billion and a half fliers.
  3. Rolling Stones songs when I'm intoxicated.

Personality types? What is this nonsense...
  5. Yeah I can see it, sans the sunken in cheeks and bags under the eyes of course.
  6. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! I'm going to the bar.
  7. Let's go Packers!!! Shrink those Giants!

    Today...

I don't believe in second chances for that kind of stuff, so if it was my girlfriend I would be gone so fast. The type of person who considers speaking/texting/calling/facebooking other guys in the way My_Eggs described either does not know where to draw the line or does not care. Of course there's no need to yell or be pissed about it, just tell her it's unacceptable--that is, if you share my opinion in thinking it's unacceptable--and be done with it.

I've been playing a lot of Battlefield 3 lately. If anyone wants to play, you can add me on Live. Stuart Lumpkins is the name :P And no, that's not my real name haha.

    Today...

You lucky bastard!!!! When they came to St. Paul tickets sold out within 10 minutes. My friend won a pair of tickets from a local radio station and said they were amazing. I'd kill to see them live!
  11. You do know that Choke and Fight Club (novels) were written by the same person, right?
  12. "Forwards are a dime a dozen, but a good defenseman is hard to find." That's the quote my pops always used to say and the reason I ALWAYS played defense. That and it was so much fun to yard sale people when they're trying to break out of the zone with their head down.

I've not tried any of their seasonal brews, but regular Blue Moon is [bleep]ing spectacular.

    Today...

Yes! That's what I meant with the two e's :P
  15. I had a hockey coach who was nearly a clone of the way Tebow carries himself on the bench and field. The over-positive stuff bugs the hell out of me. He's welcome to have his faith and I don't have a problem with it, but I would prefer if he didn't publicize it. Not that anything I say will ever stop him, just my perspective.
  16. God still doesn't give a shit about NFL football. I can't stand Tebow and his "I'm gonna blow sunshine up everyone's ass" type of play. I'm all for positivity, but that guy is just too much. He had one hell of a game though, I can't take that away from him. He deserved it.
  17. I already understand both sides of the situation as I have many friends who do not party. Most of my friends that I grew up with did not partake in any sort of drinking until they were well into college, so I have been to plenty of Mountain Dew infused movie nights and video game nights under my belt. You can twist it any way you like, but you outright insulted people that drink to get drunk by calling them fools and stupid. You're welcome to say that you don't agree with drinking to get drunk--and I can respect that--but if you degrade people by calling them names or insulting their intelligence, don't expect someone who is a part of that culture not to say something.
  18. A large social gathering based on getting hammered? Doesn't seem a very fun thing to do and not to mention, says something about the attendees' interests and habits. A large social gathering based on social interaction? Seems like a fun place to go to. As I said before, drinking to get wasted is to me a stupid thing to do. Drinking on the side within a party does not make you a drunken fool. Going to a party because they have beer, does. Oh really. What does it say about their interests and habits? I get nearly a 4.0, I'm about to graduate with my B.A., and move on to grad school. I also work 30 hours a week and get blasted drunk with my friends two or three nights a week. Am I stupid? Am I a fool? Your implied elitism is starting to get on my nerves. The naivety you posses about the drinking culture gives me a sneaking suspicion that you're making judgements from afar without ever participating in the activity you are degrading. Nobody goes to the party "because they have beer." They bring their own. People party because it is a way to escape the stress of their every day lives. A large social gathering based on playing board games and chatting while eating light snacks? Sounds like something I used to do in 5th grade.
  19. I see "relying on a computer or video game console to be absolutely no different than relying on alcohol to have a good time. Someone complains they're hungover, so that allows you to pass judgement? That's a load of bs. If a person tells you that you're a loser for not drinking, that makes that individual person a jerk, not all people who drink excessively. With the current drinking culture, it's hard for these people not to have a party without alcohol. Have the party be about socially interacting with other people, not for the purpose of drinking. When people say "Lets go to David's party and get hammered" just makes me think they're not some of the best cultured (and sometimes intelligent if they're really dumb about it) people around. Does it make them inferior to me? No, but I judge them as such and keep a bit of distance from them. People do have a choice to choose who to interact with in their lives. Well, I'm sorry you feel that way about people that like to party. I have many intelligent and cultured friends that love to party. I don't think it's fair to put a blanket statement on a group like that. Some of the most genuine and fun-loving people I have encountered were met while drinking. Sure, there are some bad eggs out there, but in my experiences, every group of people has them. Next time I'm out with my friends, I'll make sure to have a drink for you :)
  20. Obviously you missed the part where alcohol takes a huge SHIT all over the VITAL organs in your body. Getting too drunk causes death in some cases. Having an overdose of video games does NOT have the same effect. Wait a second, I never said they had the same affect on the human body. I only said that they are ways to pass the time and are absolutely no different in that sense. They are both activities that occupy the free time in a person's life. I don't think anyone that drinks in excess needs an 8th grade health class lesson on the effects of drinking.
  21. That pretty much sums up most of my classmates. Losing one's inhibitions and making irrational (harmful) decisions isn't exactly wise, and the benefits just don't pay off. I've never understood the drinking culture; Why is there a social stigma attached to drinking in moderation? I don't know that there's a stigma attached to drinking in moderation. Perhaps it's the perception of being not included in that group that makes you think that they believe themselves to be "cool." Our choice to get lit up and make what you call "irrational decisions" is no better or worse than your decision to not drink or to only drink in moderation. I enjoy getting drunk and making acquaintances with people I don't know; I have the courage to talk to women that are way out of my league; I get to make ridiculous memories with my friends. It's a way to relieve stress and I see it as no different than any other activity, there's no need to pass judgement. It's justified to pass judgement when people complain about hangovers, judge others when they don't drink, and rely too much on alchol to have a good time. I'm not conveying this to reflect upon you, but just to let you know sometimes judgement is legitimate. I see relying on a computer or video game console to be absolutely no different than relying on alcohol to have a good time. Someone complains they're hungover, so that allows you to pass judgement? That's a load of bs. If a person tells you that you're a loser for not drinking, that makes that individual person a jerk, not all people who drink excessively.
