Maybe the silver lining in this (if you can even call it that) whole mess is that cities/towns are going to be rebuilt according to modern standards. Buildings that are energy efficient and the like. Not that Japan wasn't modern before this but this could be an opportunity for city planners to get some good things done.

It hadn't been posted because the media and the public have lost interest in wikileaks. As proven by there not being any posts in this thread since mid January. It isn't really newsworthy any more. The world has much more pressing things to worry about at the moment unlike the end of last year, we now have a country recently hit by an incredibly large natural disaster and many countries in full on revolt. If anything I am adding to the discussion as without it, the thread would probably go back down to the depths as people re-lose interest, which remind me, I will leave the thread back alone now that I have stated my view. Legal proceedings tend to be messy and have no doubt slowed efforts on the part of WikiLeaks. I'm sure more updates will surface as things progress. You never deemed this stuff newsworthy anyways as far as I remember.

I'm sick of the scapegoat of "the kids" being harmed because of this. We all know that the days which they do not have school will be made up during the summer. The bill that was passed eliminates the workers' right to strike. I believe workers should be able to strike if they believe they are being treated or paid unfairly. I have doubts as to whether we will ever agree on this point.

I watched Due Date last night (not by choice) and was pleasantly surprised at it's quality. I really like Robert Downy Jr. and Zach Hippopotamus and found myself laughing quite a bit.

I wish they wouldn't have referred to this update as "The" Smithing update. If they would have been honest about what they were planning to update, they wouldn't have had the negative backlash from so many people. They implied pretty heavily this was going to be a BIG update that would cause quite a splash but instead all we got was a tiny pebble dropped in a bathtub.

He should be taking those loans out in his name since he's the one going to college, not his parents. If worst comes to worst, his parents can back him up financially. I have to pay for my entire tuition using student loans and I know plenty of others that do as well. I get really peeved when people complain about how they have to pay for their post-secondary education...like it should be given to you by your parents automatically. As long as he's enrolled full time in school he doesn't have to pay back those loans. Stay in classes, get a degree, find a job and pay off the loans. I get peeved by people who are born into wealth, like Paris Hilton. Moral of the post: Quit blaming the I'm the harder worker game. I'm not saying that I'm working harder, I'm saying there is a very accessable way to get it done. Blaming 'the system' is not an excuse.
