  1. Click on the links in the update news. The ring guide is about the new fairy ring teleports, which are made available after starting Fairy Tale Part 2. The crystal seed guide just shows you how to recharge your seeds into a bow/shield and the bonuses the items have. Both are based on older updates.
  2. Throw it into the profile. I feel it would stop newbies from spamming to 50-100 posts just so they wouldn't look new, despite having joined two days earlier. I know years back whenever I joined a forum, I would post on every active topic even if I didn't add anything to the conversation. I would do so just because you still have a sense of other members not taking you as serious as someone with 2000+ posts. I also feel that because you have a low post count some people may feel that your only a "temporary member" of the community. Which is shown when someone with 2000 posts, posts a link everyone will visit. However, if someone with 200 posts, posts a link there will be 4 pages of people asking if the link is safe. Here on TIF I've been an ACTIVE LURKER, since my join date, which was YEARS AGO. I just prefer to post when I feel I'm adding something to the conversation, instead of just agreeing with what has already been said. Mind you, I'm also opposed to people just quoting another person and saying they agree. I don't really need to read 4 pages of quote pyramids for every original post. I have found that in topics covered with quote pyramids the first post (sometimes page) is read and then the last few recent. Very few people actually read the middle pages of a topic. Do i think a removal of post count would solve these issues? I don't know, but I figure if it doesn't the post count can always be added again. But if we don't try it, we will never know if it helps at all. Cheers to the 4 people that actually read this post.
  3. Herblore. Lots or reasons to keep getting the next level in the skill. Allows for different approaches to levelling the skill as well.
  4. I'll try and make it. Don't think I'll fight though. A Suggestion: Have combatants have their private chat ON or have them add the refs. That way the refs won't have to search the house for them, and can just quickly add them telling them to show up.
  5. In day to day life there is really no point in changing to metric. However, considering that the rest of the world (with one exception) uses metric then it creates a slight hassle for international businesses. Most measurements of materials have to be converted whenever they are exported (or imported) with the US. Off the top of my head the only major thing that isn't normally converted is lumber and material for houses. I guess a similar analogy could be a conversation with a translator between two languages. The Meaning of certain words are always slightly off due to not every word matching up perfect to its counterpart. And of course if a sub-par translator (a lazy conversion) is used the meaning could be completely off. And when this is applied specifically rocket science, the conversion adds an unnecessary degree of inaccuracy to something that must be precise. ^ If the above makes no sense, it's the wee hours of the morning so cut me some slack.
  6. Meh, he is older than you, he said he was 16 on the 2nd page. Not that it really matters but. Anyways, as stated before treat girls as people. Aside from some biological differences there isn't that much seperating the genders. Talk to them as you would a guy (okay avoid certain, obvious "guy" topics at least until you know them better). If your really nervous just make small talk and ask them simple questions in the halls/classes. Say hello, and ask them how they are. Then give your own response to the question. If you get stuck talk about things that happened during the classes you have :/ Meh, I suck at advice. Be honest and yourself. Don't be "fake or someone your not" as you won't be able to keep many friends of either gender for a long time.
  7. What I don't get is why can't the metric system be introduced to the US gradually. While it is obvious you can't just decide one day that tomorrow everyone in America must know the metric system , why can't the slowly toss out the old. Why not just teach BOTH the imperial system and metric system in school so future generations will know the system? Why can't they package new products that clearly show BOTH measurements. Perhaps whenever a new sign is needed have the speed limit in mph and km/h. Then 50 years down the road slowly remove the Imperial system, that way most of the working force will already have knowledge of the metric system. And the ones that don't will be too old to care... But then again, the government would have to be onboard for the long haul for this to happen...
  8. I've been impressed with your levels for a while now. I've seen you several times in game / on forums and you always appear quite humble, which is always nice. I clearly remember last fall, we were both training Herblore and both 89 combat at the time. I personally tried to match pace with you, but I failed miserably.
  9. Dad. The troll. Bearing in mind I did the quest ages ago, couldn't he knockback opponents :)
  10. I always thought it was every 24 hours from the moment you completed the quest. I completed the quest at around 2:00PM (PST), and that is when my resources are collected.
  11. Keep it and enjoy it. There is no way you'll find him again unless he remembers your name and he would of contacted you by now if he really cared. Sucks for him, but hopefully he'll learn something from it. When I did the exact same thing I learned my lesson quickly and shrugged off my loss. Bought a tooth half key for three and some odd million coins. (Offered all and said 30 000 out loud lol) But i deserved it for rushing.
  12. Shame on the drinking. Driving Regulations are pretty well the same? Except for speed being in Mph. What percent is everything taxed in the US? Kind of confused on the science department. Where I live we take General science in 10th grade (High School is 10-12), Then we take intermediate Biology, Chemistry and Physics in 11th all as seperate courses. Then in our final year we can take advanced courses of any of the three branches. But I heard its different in the US, where you just do all Biology one year then all Chemistry the next? Not overly worried about the move itself, seeing as this is my 6th :? However, I kinda of want to be on an even playing field as my American peers.. Limited Hockey is going to kill me. Especially when my team plays in the Western Conference, Silly Time Zones.
  13. Meh, I recently found out that once again I will be moving. However, this time I will be leaving Canada. Did i mention this is my 12th (senior) year of High School. Now I know all the basic components of moving: new house, new area, new people. But I have absolutely no knowledge on day-to-day life in the US compared to Canada. I know a different measuring system is used and the president is Bush. :| So what I want to know is there any major/minor things I should expect living in the US and Virginia. I also wouldn't mind knowing how the schooling works as that it appears completely different then Canada's. The only thing I really know about US schools is the Social Studies portion contains American Presidents and Government? Something I know very little of...
  14. I chop onions when I cook for myself :| I need to remember to use smilies to show sarcasm. Onions around here make most people's eyes water when they cut them. Assuming that men don't cry, they can't cut onions because they would be crying after cutting them. Bad joke, I know. Especially if I have to explain it. I'll go sit in a corner now. and cry...
  15. Am I only the only one that thinks of Smavey's av whenever I see this topic? --- Men don't cry because they never cut onions?
  16. I reckon my kid will be named after a random object in the hospital. See, I figure my (future) wife will be preoccupied with the post-delivery so somehow the responsibility will fall on me to name him/her. I'll think back to all those long, thoughtful discussions the two of us had discussing the ideal name for our child. Naturally i'll forget the name she picked. So i'll quickly try and bluff it, naming the poor kid the first thing that comes to mind. By the time I realize my mistake the name will be official. Ah well, Stethoscope will have countless nicknames going through school...
  17. That would leave only... Basketball? I wouldn't say American Football has excessively more scoring then baseball or hockey, If other sports counted every goal (touchdown...) as 6 points then their scores would likely be similar. Mind you the need for counting each goal that high is only in American Football due to field goals and the likes. ---- I personally would never have considered the US dominant in most sports. But they do have the occasional good athlete in a some what wide range of sports that individually may become dominant in his or her own sport.
  18. No 40 below temperatures? A summer that I don't need pants for? Bring on Global Warming  Maybe i'll even end up with an ocean side house.
  19. No. If there is a skill cap then even more players will be entering P2P without knowing basic gameplay knowledge. Once some players hit 40 in ANY skill they will get members so they could train it further. As arrogant as it sounds, I don't care for all the newby questions and begging to be in P2P and F2P. Let them learn the game well in F2P first.
  20. Recruitment Drive. A fun, slightly challenging quest that needs some thought. And who doesn't want to spawn in Fally.
  21. Markkanen wasn't that bad, he didn't lose it for them - just didn't give them a good chance to win. Even if only one bounce had to go in for Carolina and the series would still be 2-0. Would of been nice if the boys bothered to show up for the game... Obviously no one told them that they aren't out, yet. However, I will say the guys in front of him don't play with the same confidence as they do with Roloson. Last night was a good example in that, it seemed the team had already decided they don't stand a chance of winning.
  22. Who is it hurting if more then 99% of players don't want party hats? The >1% that wants Party Hats already have them since they are the only people that can account for both groups. Party Hats are a sign of wealth and experience. If they didn't exist how would we brag? What about Scythes and Bunny ears, its hardly fair only a handful of people got those. I never got what harm party hats do to the economy - if people want to buy them, let them. Its not hurting anyone elses experience as you don't need a party hat to play the game. Who really cares if they spent 100 million+ to buy one, its their money. I can tell you I play runescape just fine now without my hat, and yes i've owned several way back when but sold them ;) I want a helicopter in real life, but I can't afford one. Yet, I don't think that Helicopters should be $1.99, just so I can have one. I mean it's not like I really need a helicopter ;)
  23. IMO While going into the series Edmonton was the better team. However no Roloson = No cup. Conklin chokes, a lot. Markannen, is a back-up - nothing more. And of course argueably the most important player in playoffs is the Goalie. I still think that Buffalo should be in the finals. They were the better team just Carolina had all the four-leaf clovers and horseshoes. But yeah, Edmonton wouldn't have made the playoffs with out Roloson. I still don't know why Mac-T was putting the guys he was on the ice. I've said it since the beginning of the playoffs, Bergeron and Greene are both irresponsible on the back end as well as Bergeron is unable to cover most guys due to his size. In crucial times neither should be on except for PPs (Bergeron). Furthermore DON'T ever have those guys on at the same time as Laraque and the fourth line ESPECIALLY when the game is CLOSE. Roloson shouldn't of been hurt if Bergeron made the right play, which is to never hit a guy into your goalie when your both going full speed, and then considering Ladd had already lost the puck... On a Side note, It was Jason Smith not Ryan Smyth.
  24. I agree on both counts. Don't know how they could avoid the dragon price changes though other then just being able to convert up to rune (given you have the required smithing level). Couldn't agree with you more about updating the skills halls. Only smithing, slayer (combat), fishing and runecrafting are in there. Perhaps have a mounted bow on the wall for fletching, or let me put up some dragonhide armour instead of runite to show crafting levels off. Something to display firemaking level would be nice - more people might even use the skill then too  . A table of vials, and potions would be neat for Herblore. Maybe a pair of boots hung up on the wall for agility, different colour boots representing different levels. I don't know, I would really like to have it so there is something showing off every skill that is 60+, 80+, and 99.
