I love how everyone putting on colored chinos calls them "go to hell" chinos as if they're taking a piss on Mount Rushmore or something... Anyway. a) You want your jeans to be slim. b) You want your jeans to have little to no break. If they do, roll them. Ankle/socks should show c) You want one pair of washed jeans. I'm not talking jeans with obvious whiskers and wear marks, just a pretty uniform fade. d) You want a pair of chinos or khakis. A pair in this color would be nice, as Lent said, but khaki comes first in my mind. Here's some inspiration: http://thetrad.blogspot.com/2008/12/take-ivy-chapter-i.html @Blake: What shirt fabrics/patterns do you already have, what jeans, belt, shoes?

Just drug wars. And it's not like the established dealers can't be associated to the government, or sales to the end consumer can't be managed by the government. What I'm saying is if marijuana is legalized as-is with an age limit people will be fighting over the demand.

If it was legalized without government control, it would become a huge mess with people killing each other over it and stuff. It shouldn't be taxed at all, or only enough to cover the cost to health care, if any. That should keep it lower than the average 10$/g cost we have over here.

We can't really know unless solid research is done, but things seem to point in that direction. I feel there's nothing wrong with consuming marijuana, even for pleasure. Yes, it's a superficial pleasure, but that doesn't mean you use it to replace what would otherwise be unhappiness; besides, that's none of your business. If healthy derivatives are introduced, I don't see why anyone could prohibit them, for any reason at all. It's kind of like banning video games.

In what way is alcohol so much more dangerous? I don't have sources (or time) anymore, but alcohol consumption is more addictive and harmful to your body. Look through these: http://www.physorg.com/news157280425.html http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/2007/03/23/alcohol-tobacco.html http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Alcohol%20Kills/alcohol_is_worse.htm Hope they'll answer your question (about weed, not whether Jesus is savior, or where the [bleep]oris is located if you're Dwight), I haven't fully read them.

True, but it shouldn't be used as a treatment when a more ideal solution is available. The question should probably be asked case-by-case, but I'm just wondering how many times the answer is really yes. Times have moved on, and natural remedies are being increasingly overtaken by advances in medicine. It's been like that for a long time now. Morphine is used on a regular basis and it's derived from poppies. I haven't watched the video, but alcohol is much, more dangerous. Pot can help, but it shouldn't be used as a cure. In other cases, as marcus mentioned, it can help deal with chemotherapy. Of course, marijuana isn't going to solve all problems, you can't expect it to do that...

It can't really hurt to have another solution added to the gamut.

But if that girl really does have depression and marijuana helps her, then all power to her. That's two "if"s. I don't blame her though.

Wonder no more--they are. There's nothing easier than making fun of people. Going up to a girl, knowing that you've got a good chance of embarrassing yourself, and doing it anyway, that's hard, that's really hard. Besides, in a handful of years...

http://www.torontosun.com/2011/04/21/protesters-toke-and-vote Latest article I could find, it seems the politicians are more worried about winning the elections first (because it's not like they'll be able to appeal if they don't). The last opinion expressed in the article is the kind that ruins the credibility of the event: That's self-diagnosis and self-medication. But on the other hand, how can you get a serious diagnosis if doctors won't consider all the available options (whether it's because they're unqualified to do so, or whether they have a personal stance against medical marijuana)?

have they started harassing you yet or are you just worrying? If they did, I can't help you, I have no experience.

It's a bit early for you to go looking. If it does turn ugly... Remember, not everyone's opinion matters! While getting other people involved may solve the problem, it might also just make you look fussy and weak, and make people mock you even more. In my opinion, this will have blown over before long, and things will be back to normal.

How can you deny that marijuana has medical uses? I mean hell, there are synthetic forms of it that are sold by pharmaceutical companies. Kind of low of you to think that people who suffer pain are using it as an excuse to get weed and don't try to get legal pain killers cause they need their weed. I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of people using weed for medicinal purposes never tried it before they needed it I agree with that (except maybe with your last sentence), but I have a feeling we might have misinterpreted what he said. Doesn't sound like him.

No, it's not. What do you hate yourself for?

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
The fact it doesn't matter that much makes me wonder why I even bothered with all this. I started problems where there weren't. It wasn't worth it. I was fine in peace and quiet. Pros: You learned something about approaching girls. Helpful if you're not planning on marrying your hand. Cons: You got embarrassed. Big deal. Happens to everyone. I was high one day and someone made me believe there was footage of me in the washroom circulating. It was embarrassing for a couple of days but then I got over it. And then I found out it wasn't true, which didn't really change anything. I'd say it was very worth it. Just so you know, for the next few years, your relationships are going to end at some point, early or late. Most likely.

@Silvertaler: Congratulations, Don Juan! You've been really embarrassed for the first time. Go do something really fun, you'll realize it doesn't matter all that much. Besides, if you think she's judging you negatively, remember she's not perfect either; as Rpg pointed out, not telling you her decision means she's not even as brave as you. You've got balls, props!

I agree with that, except in the case of medical pot. In that case, I feel everyone should have access to the drug, unless its negative effects are worse than alternatives (no pot for a kid who could just take Advil). @Rpg: Your point about making a mistake like heroin is valid in a sense, but I could say that for any drug or new treatment. You can never be sure about anything, so the best you can do is conduct rigorous research. Unless you want medical progress to come to a standstill, that's a chance you have to take. And when it comes to pot, it's likely pretty slim.

Medical pot distribution ruled unconstitutional in Canada
Oh joy, another condescending poster contributing nothing to the thread. I just say thanks for the bump. Well apparently, not all pain medications are equal. I wouldn't know, I'm neither a patient nor a doctor. Marijuana can be consumed without inhaling smoke, but if it's the dosage you're worried about, yeah, I guess that could work, except there are many psychoactive substances in cannabis, other than THC. THC alone may not have the same effect.

As dusky said, it's readily available and it's hard to get caught. I don't see how it's worth the effort.
