God damn, super jealous of the party life posts this page. ...and Lang, when did you get so funny? :P
  2. I'll agree there is a phase in which sexuality does not exist. I however insist, that this phase ends much much sooner than people would like to acknowledge.

You were in Canada. Everyone's friendly up there.
  4. One follows the other. And while you might want to argue a theoretical example of "two people agree upon a service and a price and exchange then part ways..." Doesn't happen like that in real life, and the ugly reality is why it's still illegal http://www2.lse.ac.u...rafficking.aspx A very valid point. My optimistic response being the ability to gain the attention of human trafficking cartels and then police it America style. I also think America would have a different take on this than Europe. Europe has deep connections within itself due to its high proximity of neighboring countries with totally different laws and ethics (and how they enforce them). Trafficking is much easier in the European area (especially in the further west and south ends) than it would be in America. Of course this would then tangent to reforms in immigration...
  5. Because the vast majority of ten year olds aren't sexually mature. Do you know what happens when a ten year old gets pregnant? This article is really lovely: http://en.wikipedia....t_birth_mothers Try 12-14, not 10. Try 18 and 13. Misinformation and ignorance? How about biology and truth? Children have sexual organs, sure...but until sexual maturity is reached (puberty) a child is not a sexual creature in the same sense an adult is. Have you heard of the dolphin picture test? (not sure that's what it's actually called). I'm sure it's "societal construction" that leads to prepubescent children being unable to recognize a picture of lovers. Our society sexualizes children more now than practically any society in our history - that's what's abnormal, not the other way around. The dolphin test has about as much scientific validity as the Rorschach test. It's actually growing more and more common for girls to start their period in the 11 and under stage*. I had a classmate who's daughter started menstruating right after she turned 8. While I understand these kids aren't in the mental stage to go about fornicating like rabbits, they are in fact biologically ready. Being disgusted at a sexualized child is a social construct. I apologize for not linking articles, I can't be arsed to source things. *check articles of hormone consumption in food industry
  6. Pimping and prostitution aren't the same thing. Let's separate the two concepts by saying "pimping" implies there is an abusive pimp involved, the girls are there against their wishes, and the conditions are run of the mill seedy. Let's then define prostitution as a much more voluntary life style involving a brothel (imagine a frat house, but with prostitutes). These girls would be there on their own whim living life the way they see fit. Legally.
  7. Why is it so weird for a 10 year old to have sex? Hundreds of generations ago, people only lived to be 30 if they were lucky. You had to breed early, and breed often just to keep your bloodline in tact. Romeo&Juliet? Pretty sure Romeo was 14 and Juliet was like 9 or 10. Society is what removed sexuality from "the child" and it's actually a recent phenomenon. It mostly started in the early 1900's when children's rights demanded they can't work such ridiculous hours and were entitled to a "childhood". This "childhood" then morphed into this abstract phase in life where sexuality holds no presence. Except it does, but because it's a social construction - sexuality is ignored. Sexuality is usually discovered and explored by the time a child is ~3 biologically. Of course it's taboo to even suggest such a thing because social structure is blinded by generations of misinformation and ignorance.
  8. Curious that you think a 13 year old would be "sluttier" for doing exactly what an 18 year old would do. People don't all develop at the same rate. To quantify such a number of growth ratios would strip humanity of any potential for individuality. We are all equal, independent and unique creatures. So what if a 13 year old is banging every guy on her block? She's just living her life to a different beat of the drummer. My confusion also stretches to that of alcoholism. Why is it sophisticated to drink wine with every meal, but trashy to have some beers/bourbon with the boys on weekdays? I suppose the answer is cultural relevance, but I find it unappealing that so many harsh judgments are concluded when the 'judger' takes no time to even try to understand the circumstance of the judged.
  9. Police brutality is nothing new. I heard his (C. Dorner) cabin was detonated earlier today, or is my facebook newsfeed misleading me?
  10. :twss: I'm willing to bet there is some sort of female biological conditioning prompting them to be jealous of girls being with their former mates. Of course, being a guy with a similar reaction, it's just as fair to claim it's the ideology that's been ingrained in human social acceptability for the past...oh I dunno...few dozen generations? Real tough to separate nature from nurture ever since sociological philosophy started gaining a footing in the scientific world. I'd wager people feel jealous because they feel obsolete and unwanted which combines the effects of biological reasoning and social grooming. We don't want to feel that way because for the good of the species - we shouldn't.
  11. Assuming they all invaded the US? Simultaneously? USA would be leveled within weeks. The south would put up a good fight, and all those zombie shelters would make great barracks/bunkers. Russia's sheer numbers would eventually overwhelm us though. Red Dawn comes to mind, but with even more military advancement. Sure we have the "largest" army, but if we had no warning...I mean...look how Pearl Harbor ended up. And that's an attack we knew about! If the US got shock&awe'd into a war against the world, it'd be a short and horrendously bloody war. When, because then I wouldn't live in fear of whatever it is that kills me. I prefer that to be a surprise (although in real life it's like a 50/50 definite for either my lungs giving out or liver cancer before I'm 70). Heavy alcoholism and birth defects are fun. Mother [bleep]ing spiders. They can melt anything into being edible, they out number just about everything, and they are kings at hiding.
  12. God damn it there's the perfect quote from Warner Brothers to match this argument, and I cant remember it. I'll rewatch the damn documentary[hide](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfJ2vNcSDjA)[/hide] to find it, brb. "To those who believe; no explanation is needed - for those who don't; no explanation will suffice." Until then, the fact is there is a cognitive state of communal belief whenever any value is well...valued. Cognitive Dissonance occurs when a subjective fact is challenged and group support is required to maintain the check and balance of valued truth. When religious groups are challenged, they fall back on each other to find a logical fallacy loophole to explain how their faith(belief) still prevails as truth. Jesus is the Mesiah? Yeah he died. Well shit, how do we make sense of it? Oh, y'know what - he did it on purpose. Jesus is still the mesiah because his purpose was to die. Thus Christianity (and all its believers were born). The apocalypse didn't happen when predicted? Oh, it's because we believed so hard that God saved us. Or we didn't carry a 1, and now it'll happen in the next century. To change someone's views, you have to apply your views in a non-threatening manner while providing a communal group consensus that your beliefs are true and "better". I was hardcore monogamous until not long ago because of the high support polyamory got from this thread and a few other forums/sources. Suddenly I questioned my own beliefs and found a sort of middle ground to settle into. Slut Shaming is like Christianity, and not only because I'd reckon to say slut-shamers are primarily religious folk. I say it because if challenged in their beliefs, they'll retract within their own community of fellow value-sharers and come up with an answer that allows them to maintain the morale high ground without waiving their values. This being said, changing such a core value in someone is usually impossible. You'd literally have to rip the roots of their upbringing right out from under them to get your point across. Lucky for me, I'm super open minded and ready/willing to abandon the norm. Of course, this trait is often associated with "the lost" and "the wanderer". From a religious standpoint this puts me on par with Cain. And no one likes being Cain. Especially if you were raised by a bible wielding bigot. Back to the point, while I believe slut-shaming is derogatory and selfish, I can totally see why people do it. To try to project their opinion on someone else, and to someone who's never really challenged their "self" (introspection and existentialist crisis) that's absolutely normal. Semi on-topic, I told my ex that the porn star in my class was flirting with me (and my ex claims to be one of those hippy-dippy open minded liberal college girls) and I could practically feel her hate-face through a text message. I would have loved to see her face twist in confusion in person. See cause while she likes being all-accepting, she hates it when A) girls flirt with me and B) girls use their body gratuitously for no reason.
  13. I'd sure as hell hope so
  14. The fact that they didn't inform the public before shooting blanks is what bothers me. I'm cool with military types training in whatever area, but the civilians deserve a heads up. This can easily be interpreted as a way of getting civilians used to military activity (as if anticipating severe military state like qualities from X government). The fact that this wasn't well covered in the news, and little panic seems to be spreading also worries me. Is America really this ready to roll over and just take what the military feeds us? What would have been done if one of those apocalypse nuts came out with an LMG and returned fire? They sure couldn't have gotten away with this in Oakland, or Detroit, or Camden. They'd have started an actual internal war. So why not let everyone know what's going on before sending in the Blackhawks?

The only good Harlem Shake is the original army one.
  16. Perhaps I got angry because I misread the original quote? I don't even remember anymore haha
  17. I said it wrong, but I still think having such a bold claim in such an open forum is foolish. Slut-shaming is anti-human. I mean; I'm down for discussion on the subject as long as the mods don't overreact to it ;) ;)
  18. Shots were fired from a US owned Blackhawk chopper in Miami last month into crowds of innocent people. Perhaps it'd have been nice to know these bullets were actually blanks and were part of an elaborate "training exorcise". Is this a heavy handed (and non chalant) nudge for the public to "get used to" heavy military presence? Are we training our military to invade/capture first world cities? What are we prepared for? What do they want us to be prepared for? And more importantly, how many bricks would you shit if you saw military choppers flying at low altitudes, laying down heavy machine gun fire in your home town?

We care Kalphite. That's why we're all still around. @Tim, rough choice and I hope the best for you. Try not to kill your family in the next few weeks :P
  20. says the man who frequents the same forums as a man who claims in his signature "the anti-slut-shaming movement is derogatory toward men"

Welcome to the crew than ezee :P ginger, I totally get the logic behind that. It's a shame that as our ranks grow older, they grow away from TIF. My_Eggs was a huge "today" poster but mysteriously disappeared soon after moving to his new house. Mentioned that he liked fishing and grew outdoorsy. Likely doesnt feel the need to drop by. I could list all kinds of nostalgic names that simply moved on (Skull for instance). I'm pretty much in love with this subforum though, I'm here til the whole site crashes into silence. And while Jagex is indirectly killing our community, the lack of retention is what bums me out. Spent the last few days up at TCNJ visiting some friends. Introduced an engineering major to vodka. We stole some couches, played some cards against humanity. Good time.
  22. I've never heard of women's day until now. Definitely not even really a thing around where I live, though after wikipedia'ing it, it's clearly a big deal. Do you enjoy celebrating it?
  23. Dear lord who are you people /s 7/10 traverse OT more. Get more cred.
  24. Uh...huh. Well then Somewhere down the road my password must have been botched then. Likely when they demanded I change it when they deemed it "too easy to guess". I never registered it to an email account, nor did I ever post on the forums (I was never a member, never was allowed to). I suppose I could somehow coerce Jagex to letting me log in again, but perhaps it's best I never touch Runescape again. Do something else with my life.
  25. Check out the OffTopic if you're ever in the mood to talk about something other than the 'Scape ;)
