I'm here because it's a home away from home. I like that I don't know any of you personally, yet still feel so attached to ya'll. I can post about my life, say whatever and be absolutely free of judgement. Or at least judgement that effects my life (I've received some flak before in some of my posts haha) I'm fairly certain Lent_J went to college to be a frat boy and hasn't touched the internet since. I don't even think he kept up his blog.

Today...
...It's very pink but otherwise there's nothing "adult" about the product itself, only the ceremony that takes place around it. :P So what's the Jenga part for? Why not just play Truth or Dare? That's the marketable version. The better version can be found here: Today I'm working til 4am. Blah.

My buddy is a DJ. been doing it since 2007. Of course he had a partner back then and was under the name "Bass Creators" but that's a thing of the past. Check him out, he's touring all over Tennesee/South Carolina this summer.- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Meeting up with a girl I met online on Monday. Will update post-haste. Also been talking to a girl on the West Coast, and the time delay is killing me. She's kind of the bees knees and makes me excited to look at my messages. Alas, West Coast. The best are always states away aren't they?- Things That Make You Smile :)
When I learn something new about a friend that I've known for a while? Makes me smile. Unless it's something I dont like knowing. But even then, I might smile a bit because I'm a nut.- Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
oi! It's near 5am guess it's Aussie time. Finally, forums been dead minus Lang(newly named to something I won't ever refer to him as) for like the past 5 hours. And yeah I had 7 or 8 beers earlier. Meh.- what was your first job ! ?
That sounds like a good profession. Surrounded by meat. <3: Carving meat is a ridiculous skill when you get into it, too. Coming home bloody and reaking of meat all the time is overrated though. Personally the act of chopping animals that still look like animals is what turned me off to it. I still carve pigs and lambs here and there, but I hate it quite a bit.- Textbooks
Does anyone else have the issue of never using the textbooks they initially buy, and then having to rush to the bookstore the second day of classes because it's actually crucial to have the one book you didn't buy? Every friggin' semester for me. And the new trend with my luck is I actually end up liking the text books I rent, and hate the ones I buy. Go figure.- Real life pictures - 4
Cheers mate haha. What you drinking?- Cars
There's a local gas company around my parts that's trying to go big by advertising their new method of fumigated fuels or something like that. I believe it's a more natural gas as Spork is talking about. One of my old co-worker's dad's owns the company, but I think they were selling it more for the purposes of heating and light generation(?) than transportation.- The Self-Development Thread
My short term goal is to have the last word on every thread on the first page of OffTopic minus the pinned. I did this on Forum Games once back in the day and blew BlazikenMaster's mind. Trying to do it again. Shan't be hard. Long term goal? Try to hold a conversation with someone I don't know well for more than six lines of dialogue. Seriously. Conversation is obsolete, I suck at holding one. Any tips on how to carry on (minus the subtraction of short answer things that I tend to do a lot)?- What book are you currently reading?
I've been struggling through The Future of Illusion by Sigmund Freud. It's enlightening, but you really gotta be on top of your mental game if you want to have any idea what he's going on about. It's only like 100 pages though. Not too bad if you want to brush up on some philosophy on religion.- Have you got a trick you can do ?
I can do this thing where I have the last word on every front page thread in OffTopic.- Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
I hate it when I'm the only one browsing OT between the hours of 1am and 8am -5GMT. No one to talk to at all haha.- What do You Miss?
I miss damn near everyone in this thread.- Jagex and all white staff.
Yes we agree on the Jagex thing, but you seemed keen on actually making this thread worth something. You're right, my bone to pick is more with Affirmative Action than it is with EOA. I confuse the two because I had the stupidest crush on my management professor. I still don't like that it comes down to "oh we don't have many women on staff, let's hire one" when all other fields are equal. I'd rather they flip a coin. Not to play white supremacist, but I feel like the average white guy loses out all the time due to this. There's more minorities overall than the "majority" in I'd like to say near all job markets (as in like 40% white male, 60% assorted other). Given this break down, if all people are put on equal terms of education/experience/yaddayadda the minority, the 60% will be picked for the job. And that's just stupid.- Jagex and all white staff.
I'd like to believe in a world where race yields and bears no preconceived notions. I realize this isn't always the case, but to point fingers at a company and claim "oh they don't have all their basic minorities represented, they're up to no good" is more racist than the company in question in my eye. If a company so happens to follow this pattern, we need to delve deeper into the context of the scenario. Do they hire based on skill? Likely. Do they hire based on experience? Likely. Do they hire based on who they know? Likely. Do they hire because someone is black? They shouldn't do that anymore than they should if the person was white. Or Asian. or Hispanic. That's why the EOA is the dumbest thing ever. How is it less racist to hire the black guy to represent the black minority in your office than to hire a 43rd white guy because he's qualified? Even if they're equally qualified, race shouldn't be a factor in hiring. If it is, than yeah, the company has issues. If that's what we're talking about on this thread (implying Jagex is racist) then I'll say that the given party is innocent until proven guilty. Find a super good Hispanic coder. Wait til Jagex is hiring. Send him to apply. See what becomes of it. But don't say "oh they're racist" if he doesn't get the job either. You have to look at the entire pool they drew from. Did they pick the only white guy in 1000 application? Okay THAT would raise some questions. But no, Jagex isn't racist. And race should have nothing to do with job applications and hiring criteria.- Jagex and all white staff.
- Dumb Stories
I got stories for days, but prefer to keep them relevant to topics that are already in progress of discussion. Otherwise, I post them on the Today thread. Most of my longer, more well told stories I keep on a face-to-face level. However, just to add to the fun I'll give a short story: When I turned 18 I got real excited to start online dating. I ended up talking to this girl who was a few years older than me and she wanted to meet up. She looked...eh. Like 7/10 on a good day. At best. Being generous. And tipsy. But nevertheless she promised to bring her "hot" friend and I told her I'd bring her a dude so we settled on a date. The jackass I am, I bring my best friend (bless his heart) on an hour road trip out way up state to meet this girl that would soon be all up on his kishkas. I don't know why we didn't leave immediately. She had gained like I don't know...a pregnancy worth of weight since she took the photo that I had seen when I was talking to her. Oh...and she didn't mention she had a 3 year old kid. Or smoked like a chimney. But my buddy toughed it out for me, while I waited for my date to arrive. Come to think of it, there's no proof this girl even existed minus the fact I got her number (but new revelation, it really could have been any random broad's number I was given). Anywho, we stick around for something like 5 hours just sitting around killing time, talking about random stupid crap no one cared about. 0 chemistry accross the board. 0. Infact I'm pretty sure negative chemistry was occurring, I don't care what the laws of physics present our universe with. It gets to be like 11ish when I decide my girl's not coming. So me and my buddy finally bail. But not without the memory of that shit night when we went up state to meet the beast. we still joke about it occasionally, and actually I still talk to the girl on the other side of that number the first girl gave me. She's nuts. Like actually clinically nuts. Fairly attractive though. Not even remotely interesting on a personal level. This must have happened close to 3 years ago now. Meeting up with random number girl in a few days for the first time. Kinda weird come to think of it. We tried to meet up before but one of us would always cancel last minute with BS plans like "oh, I don't feel well today" or "something came up". Whatever. My life is yolo. Trust me, I got stories for days.- 7 years of Tip.it Forums
OH SHIT ITS PENNYWISE We ain't dead yet buddy. Just terminally ill.- Jagex and all white staff.
I'm having trouble caring about the subject. Race has virtually nothing to do with employment anywhere. If you're implying Jagex is being racist by not employing minorities, you're the one that's racist for even noticing. Minorities can't be everywhere, or represented proportionally everywhere. There's simply not enough of them. If there were, they wouldn't be called "minorities". People are people. People hire people based on skill level and experience (and usually nepotism). End of story. I'm actually on the side of the ORFmod. Nothing productive is going to come from this thread other than people whining about Equal Opportunity Acts which are complete bull plop in my opinion.- Today...
That blows, Nekyia. Hope someone gets it back to you. Celebrated my buddy's 18th today. Kinda nomad'd it around town, settled in a parking lot to drink. Was kinda fun, but I prefer indoor chilling over freezing in the cold with a beer in my hand. Different kind of chill. Found out how to play Adult Jenga, and I am ABSOLUTELY breaking it out at the next house party I go to. It's incredible. Other than that, just another day of drinking where I come home feeling kinda empty. I think it's time I make some new friends. - Advertise your thing here - all posted elsewhere = removed
