  1. A valid point. As a kid your bound to like whatever is put in front of you first simply due to lack of comparison. But I didn't start this topic to whine and reminise, I just wanted to hear predictions of recurring fads. *becomes best friends with Dizzle*

Too late. Remember when we weren't at war with a faceless enemy, and the only thing people cared about the goverment was the fact that Clinton was a womanizer? I miss that. Remember when the most dangerous terrorist organization we had to deal with was Cobra? ROFL Remember when people really thought they could catch 'em all?
  3. I feel like somebody researched something along the lines of a heat ray a long long time ago. I feel that it would be key in repelling these water based invaders. Does anyone else remember this, or was jsut imagining it? I think it was Sere's used to help scare off protesters during Luxembourg's first Civil War? Let's utilize that tech shall we? No one will be taking Japan.
  4. I think I underestimated the difference in culture between the USA and everyone else during that time period. And I agree SilverSword, those born after 1995 were too young to truly appreciate it.

The Aliens told us. BUt that's actually a good point. Especially because the length of a year back then was different from the length of a year now (Thanks Kings Julius and Augusto)

Sadly I didn't like a single one of those shows. Except Rugrats. That was a masterpiece. It seems like your only old enough to remember the downfall of the great 90's Nick Empire. Unles you can recall Slimetime Live Doug Hey, Arnold! Rocket Power Legend of the Hidden Temple Lizzie Mcguire the ORIGINAL All That cast Keenan and Kel The Amanda Show ...and so on and so forth
  8. I expected a reply like this :P I dmit, my taste in music is aged...and frequently disagreed on. BUt you can't say that Fred Durst wasn't one of the key voices of the Nu-Metal ('rapcore' as the call it now) movement. I love my grunge. I love my 90's Nu-Metal. and the 1990's was the best decade representing those genres. Of course, I have other tastes, but I practically grew up on Limp Bizkit and KoRn.

HAHAHA TRUE! 90's Nickalodeon destroys anythign that's on TV these days. When I have a kid, I'm dowloading every episode of every show from that era and making them watch that instead of whatevers on at that point in time. Spongebob was just as terrible as the shows on today. They both have random humor, where if you don't get what's happening, you laugh. GOOD cartoons were shows like Scooby Doo with fun yet predictable plots and a bit of humor. However I'll admit some of the cartoon shows today aren't about random humor, and are just stupid... But we also had those back in the 90s. I was never a huge fan of Spongebob. I found him rather annoying. Scooby Doo was the [cabbage] though. Didn't even matter which version of it. The only bad one was the "baby" scooby doo when they were all kids. I mean obviously, not all 90's TV/cartoons were amazing...but overall they were far superior to the crap that's on Nickalodeon or Cartoon Network these days. Nickolodeon now is just Dan Shneider taking a dump on his former genious.

I'm sick of discussing the Swine Flu as much as the next poster...but some people still like to live in the hype. Not too sure about the rest of the world, but the US is distributing "vaccines" to the H1N1 for free at local clinics. Personally I think this is preposterous. The fact that it's from the government and free raises a few flags in itself. This is the first wave of the vaccine, and it has yet to be approved by the FDA. This implies that the whole process was rushed and that workmanship is not a key factor. No one knows the long term effects of this new vaccine, and personally I think it's like buying a microsoft product the day it releases. You know what it shoud do, but you also know that it's going to be buggy, and probably have some issues with it. Now alot of these US kids are being forced by their parents to get this vaccine out of fear. Are you one of these kids? Do you have an opinion on the matter? Do you trust the government when its in panic mode? Discuss.
  11. I constantly hear complaints about today's youth. In person, my parents, my friends, myself. As of recently, even here on TIF. The majority of the users on here are considered "90's kids". We consider ourselves the last "good" generation. Why? We can blame many things, but the top two are media and parenting. But what if the media realizes that it's wrong? What if the world has seen how wrongful it's treated the kids of today and wants to make up for it? I think it has. Not too long ago, Cartoon Network resurected the old series "Power Puff Girls" in a movie form. This was an obvious throw back to the loyal 90's kids still watching the channel faithfully, waiting for it to restore its former glory. Whether or not we were satisfied with that is disputable. Today, Cartoon Network is trying again, and digging up an old favorite "Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy" for another throw back movie. This looks promising, and many have already seen it during it's European debut. Moving away from TV, we'll go to movies. Remember those awesomesauce toys we used to buy as kids? Transformers? Gi-Joes? Have you seen them recently? They're the new stars of the big-screen. Who knew that a child's imagination would pay off so well 20 years down the road? I realize that Transformers and Gi-Joe are more for the late 80's generation, but where do you think they'll go to next? All your favorite 90's toys and fads. Will we see another Crash-Test Dummy movie? Only time will tell Now on to Music... This is the part that amkes my heart swell with joy. It seems all of my favorite 90's bands have returned with a vengence. Blink-182 recently reunited and is working on their next album. Limp Bizkit's Wes Borland and Fred Durst even set aside their differences to combat the crap that is today's music. I am super excited for their return escpecially. But what other great 90's bands have disappeared that we can excpect a return from? Even if we don't expect it, wouldn't it be nice to have some old favorites go touring again? I think System of a Down will be next to hop on this band wagon. I sure as hell hope so anyway. And does anyone remember Sugar Ray? Maybe we'll see them in the future, too. If Nirvana ever got back together, not only would I be shocked ad amazed, but I may be a little confused as well. Not that I wouldn't have a fangasm anyway. Bring back the 90's! Discuss.

Stonehenge: Blocks were transported from ships over water, then wheeled there over chopped down trees Easter Island Heads: Rocks that were placed there and then carved Aztech/Egypt architectural similarities: Because we're an uncreative race when it comes to designing things that can't kill stuff. Bermuda Triangle: Large frequency of storms, as well as I think it was giant gas bubbles that form due to the shifting plates below Aztech calendar: Well, they were pretty bored since they didn't really have crusades to go on, so I guess they had to do something worthwhile with their time. Pyramid layout: Oh please. These people weren't apes, it's not like math was beyond their capacity. I was being sarcastic, but lets have an argument then shall we? Stonehenge: there is no way "simple" way they could have transported those rocks to that location. A boat of that time period wouldn't be nearly strong enough. How they built the thing its' self though has been theoretically proven. It's an elaborate elevator using a seesaw like mechanism. So it's plausible for a human to build it, once give the correct materials Easter Island Heads: When did tribesman that have never seen any other form of a person get to be so selfaware and artsy? Not to mention the fact that all of them are damn near identicle. I get that they're all modeled after the same person, but there's barely even a trace of a tribe ever living there those things are so old. Aztec/Egyptian similarities: Maybe it is just human nature to ove to make pyramids. but why? And wouldn't this suggest that all ancient colonies should have similiar structure? Bermuda Triange: Yea...that's pretty much my explanation Aztec calander accuracy: That makes sense, but it's still pretty rediculous to think that a civilization that's long since extinct can properly predict so many things so far in the future. Especially space related events. Europe didn't even notice space until Galileo challenged the church. (is this imlpying that religion is slowing our scientific progress?) Egyptian pyramid layout: Smart or not, their dead accuracy scares me.

Now that just seems violent, but it's sadly true. You literally have to beat these kids into telling them you mean buisness. HAHAHA TRUE! 90's Nickalodeon destroys anythign that's on TV these days. 14. This War mechanic is awesome. Arch really brings this game new life Kamino's concern with the Lictens has risen slightly, as their presense on Earth was greatly underestimated. The new land on Mars is being dedicated to production, and will help speed the increasing protection force of Kamino. This will include the basics, being clones, Holy Empire grade weaponry, minor food plantations (processed food), LAARTs and some secondary spaceship factories. This will fractionalize the time it takes to build those huge carrier ships, as well as the destroyers that are so few in number. This expansion project will become in ideal effect with in the next 4 years or so.

Of course Aliends created human society. Explain Stone Hendge. Explain the Easter Island Heads. Explain why the Aztecs and the Egyptians had so many arcitectual similarities, without ever saying a word to each other. Explain the bermuda triangle. Explain why the Aztec calendar was so fraking incredible. Explain hoe the Egyptians managed to model their pyramids in the exact propotion to Orion's Belt, down to the angle. The only explanation: Aliens.

We're too soft on kids today. They're too reliant on technology. They're too desensitized to traumatic experience (thanks internet) and everything is so SAFE. I've heard my dad rant about this all the time. In his childhood, by the standards that he was raised on, todays kids wouldn't last past age 11 when compared to today's standards. No child left behind? Seatbelts? Child labour laws? child abuse law suits? Kids today suck. Alot. I hate being part of this generation. BUt it's not just that...it's the new parenting styles too. Parents today rather suck. why? Numerous reasons that I can't even begin to list. The biggest I would say is probably the rising divorce rates. Divorse messes up kids. You can't fight truth.
  18. I really want to date this girl. She seems amazing and her love of soccer matches mine. Sorry for ignoring this. Somehow it slipped under the radar ^^; I'm not sure what kind of advice you're really looking for though. Are you asking if your putting enough effort in? Are you asking how much is too much effort? We're gonna need details to judge things like that. We're not in your shoes, we can't see your life. Obviously you're interested in her. If you don't feel like your putting enough effort in...than put more effort in. Don't stop til you're satisfied...or until you start thinking that you're coming off as creepy.
  19. Did we create this program or did we find it? It seems way too perfect for our needs...
  20. Seeing as how nothing happened to Earth, despite it being ripped to shreds by an off course space ship, i guess we're all jus tgonna pretend it didn't happen. Assuming this, I'd like to thik that I still possess Sledge and that it is in perfect operation, orbitting Mars. Speaking of which, my increasing expansion in the fairly ignored planet: :-w

I can inhale using my mouth and nose at the same time, and then exhale using both as well. I read somewhere that that isn't supposed to happen. Can't for the life of me explain it though. It's not your immune system's fault, it's the way your mucus irrigation system is designed. Everyone has (or is supposed to have) two nostrils, and two sinuses. Each sinus is located just under your eye and cheek bone. Your sinus is connected to your nostril, your ear, and in some people, their throat. When you get a head cold, the body's defense system overproduces mucus to defend against the virus/bacteria. This mucus creates pressure and stuffy noses. It only blocks breathing on one side because gravity pulls the mucus (and the pressure and blockage) to one side. Next time you get a head cold, wear ear plugs and then lay on the opposite side of the blocked nostril. Then take the ear plugs out and try again. The results are amusing to say the least. Please don't double post. ~meol

I have all of that except the hatred for certain sounds. I blame the fact that I just like avoiding people for that, to be honest. It really manifests itself when I'm in an unfamiliar group/large crowd, but I'm practically normal-acting and a lot less introverted when I'm in a group that I enjoy to be around. I've had some teachers claim that I was autistic when I was younger, but I think I only displayed those behaviours because I was used to not being around a lot of people (My family keeps to itself.) and the fact that I moved around a lot due to my father's career. That kind of screwed me up socially when I was younger, and I used to be paranoid every time that a person tried to chat with me because I was intimidated by them for some reason. Anyway, the moral of the story is that you probably just need to get out more and try to work some of that shyness off. I also act extremely introvert in unfamiliar environments. If something is unfamiliar, I lock up and become, pretty much an autistic person. BUt that's really not how I am. I agree that pushing the comfort zone can cure such behaviour, but I also believe that no one is without atleast a tiny bit of atleast one disorder. So slight, that it can go undiagnosed. But somewhere in all of us is some sort of slight personality disorder
  23. That's not a good attitude. When you get older you'll appreciate this more, but don't screw over your close buddies. 'Good' friend or not, your gonna start realizing how few close friends life hands you. Whoever this chick is, I doubt it's worth the friendship of a close buddy. At the very least, when they break up ask him if it's okay if you ask her out. Trust me, this will save you a lot of BS in the future.
  24. RpgGamer replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in Off-Topic
Yeah, but there's different severities of Autism. I know a chick that more or less is a perfectly normal person, completely functional but was diagnosed as "slightly autistic" because she has a few quirks and ticks that are signs of Autism. Things such as social awkwardness, introverted behaviour, angered by specific sounds, strong hatred toward specific normal behaviours...She's definitly autistic, but not like...a lot
  25. I wish this was Facebook so I could "Like" that post. I suppose this will suffice:  Good to see that you didn't have to "game" a girl to ask her out. Or meet up. Or however that worked out. I'm proud of you :)
