  1. I would feel out of place in the Library. Despite my name, I'm not all that hardcore of a role-player. And I can't picture any games outside of Hegemony being used for the subforum.
  2. *facepalm* I didn't instantly get to your planet, I've been there for nearly a decade now! Christ sake, do you actually read my posts when you look at them? @Mather I didn't get owned. My people were never on his planet. I merely gave his slaves weapons. But aparently there are no slaves anymore for whatever reason. Perhaps I was confused by Hex's constant changing in govt style and species type. My mistake. If there are no slaves, we can pretend that none of this ever happened. I still do however still have a carrier ship in Hex's system. This is nothing personal Hex, I'm just playing the game. Rpg's goal was to make it so Hex no longer had any pwoer and was forced to quit the thread. When on earth did I say that? I even recommended that Hex take shelter on Mather's planet to keep him on the thread. Please don't put words in my mouth. @ Dusty Good call on the Third Servile War crack. I've never heard of such a war, but it was a very nice parrallel. If this thread gets moved to Fally Librarby 1 of 2 things will happen: 1) I quit or 2) I start posting more in Fally Library. I'm leaning toward 1.
  3. The war mechanic is based around a random number generator. It was introduced a month or two ago by Ross_the_Knight, but it still has kinks that need to be worked out. Yes, Hex will still lose, but it will at least show the casualties. However, I'm afraid that only Ross truly knows how it works, so we'll have to wait for him to do it for us, I guess. There'd be moer infrastructure damage than casualties, I would think. Plus, how do you calculate the odds to put into the RandInt function to even go through the formula? I can attempt to figure it out, but there's no way to predict every last dollar of damage caused. And I really doubt nothing would happen. The way I see it, is that Hex controls 1/50th of his population. hIs popluation was a few 100mil I believe. Lets assume that 75mil are slaves so that there are 1.5mil guards. This leaves pop room for the elderly and the children. Of those 75mil slabes, roughly 40mil were equipped with a high grade weapon (assualt rifles and the like). The rest were just hardcore protesters. Some protesters may have had access to pipe bombs, and homemade TNT. Even with the 20+mil unarmed slaves, and the slaves that wouldn't rebel...that's still a near 1 v. 25 fight in a balanced warzone. By my calculations, Hex loses control of all but his elderly, a few children, some guards, and maybe a few million slaves. Damage to infrastructure and lost research from lab bombings is completely unable to be calculated though.
  4. My advice would be to get over her by the non-literal means of "gftog". Myabe she'll get jealous and then you'll get what you want anyway. But if I were in his shows, I wouldn't have the capacity to do that. I have a weakness to girls. Especially ones I like a lot. I'd end up having a really awkward moment of trying to hookup with her whilst having a "moment" (you'll know what I'm talking about when you feel it). Then she'd either be a "yay" or a "nay". The "yay" meaning a happily ever after. The "nay" meaning I'd spend a few weeks away from her, spend a month apologizing and looking like a douche, and then slowly crawling back into the friendzone. Assuming I knew it wouldn't happen after that experience. This is not what you should do, but I think that's what I would do.
  5. I sent them there and then left before dusty had arrived... Though not before leaving several beacons. Also would it be possible to use a warp drive for ftl communication? @sere alright I will use the war mechanic... Told you those beacons would come in handy. I don't quite understand how FTL can be applied to communication though. And what war mechanic? I'm unaware of any new method of warfare we may have come up with.
  6. Heh, thanks for the updated name, Sere. I do have a flag on the first page, but we can worry about that later. Grim, not to throw a stick into this operation, but when did you even send ships to Hex's system? Mine have been there for almost a decade. shortly after Ross's arrived. EDIT: Hex has had a chance to retaliate and hasn't. This rebellions been going on for a good 5 years now. He's posted like 8 times knowing full well that a rebellion was going on, but he decided to say "nah, it's not actually happening" and thn proceeded to ignore all further posts on the subject. *also like to point out that Ross is the first person I've ever "siggied". unrelated, but I figured I'd mention it.
  7. "gftog" isn't meant to be taken litterally (how terrible a person would you have to be to even be able to do that?). He's just saying there are plenty of other girls out there, and you're too focussed on ONE. This can lead to all sorts of unhealthy habits and behaviour, commonly reffered to as "oneitis". But I think you understand that he most of all jsut meant "move on with your life" or "get over it".
  8. hex can still claim he escaped, and could potentially be under the protection of Mather. So he's not nesesarily booted, but he is pretty much left with nothing. As for me controlling his land? I can't control rebels, and I have no buisness doing so. Like I said, they live in a state of anarchy. It's up to them to organize it, I'm not dealing with that crap. So would you mind if I tried to help set up a stable government? I think we will be hailed as bringers of freedom and democracy... Well, technically he rules the country, he doesn't act as ruler. He could continue to play, just as the rebel's leader. Rocco, your comment confuses me. The rebels are fighting Hex's rule. Why would Hex have control over them? They aren't recognized as his people anymore. @Grim - Be my guest, but I want no part of it. Rebels have a tendency to never be happy with their government. And i really don't want a planet that close to Mather's (even though the location would be convenient). I don't like having a whole planet to myself. Makes me paraniod. Let's say you made the rebellion against me. I'm not actually playing as my emperor. My countries emperor hasn't even been given a name. If you made a rebellion in my country, I'd continue to play just as the rebel leader. And how does giving people guns cause a rebellion to begin? Hex was running his country with slave labour if I remember correctly. Him and Doom had a minor tiff about it and how he only has 1 guard per like 50,000 people. Then she said somehitng like "they could think 1 guard to death" so then he upped the ratio to 50 people per guard. This means that the poeple under Hex's rule were slaves. Slaves tend to hate their government. He also restricted their rights, worked them hard, and didn't let them near weaponry. That's where I came in. I swooped in, gave his slaves weapons, and BAM instant rebellion. And it wouldn't make much sense to play as the rebels fightnig your country, unless you yourself started the rebellion (like Trol did). If I instigate riots through out Hex's people, a third party is supposed to play as the rebels (as Doom did during the Kazhikia rebellion). I think it was grim that volunteered. I just figured that even an "NPC" rebel would have the common sense to overthrow Hex's week government policies.

Why would a shotgun styled grenade launcher need a scope? wouldn't use of said scope leave you with a broken cheek bone? And I lol'd very hard at Ross's comment about the universe spontaneously collapsing. But I thought the exact same thing, if it's held like a breifcase and is effectively 3x stronger than a shotgun, there's no way that your shoulder wouldn't just pop right out of place from recoil.
  11. hex can still claim he escaped, and could potentially be under the protection of Mather. So he's not nesesarily booted, but he is pretty much left with nothing. As for me controlling his land? 12. Your planet has fallen into a state of anarchy. You no longer control your planet. It's gone through 4, near 5 years of rebellion. You'd be dead by now. Or have fled the solar system. This just proves my point from page 90. In other news, 4th Carrier ship (still to be named, I'll get on that oon) is finished, and a 5th is on it's way. Testing has begun on the now Earth dwelling Zhorecian plant. Samples have been taken to the Haven to aid in Ger-I mean, Terran Federation's anti-cancer research. And no, dumping money on education will not raise your GDP at all. It'll make your people smarter on average, for sure. But jsut cause they're smart doesn't mean they get paid well. Even assuming that they did - the more people you pay high salaries for, the less worth your "money" actually has. It's the same principle that printing money means you have more. No, it actually just means each individual "dollar" becomes worth less. But you have more of them ,so it really doesn't change anything. And Hex, if you do not address this post, I'll report you for spam, for being the longest living troll in the history of the internet.

  14. I'll check... Can't find it, you must be an extremly lazy person if you can't type a sentance to prove a point. ... How helpless are you? I really am lazy, I'll give you that cause I sure as hell didn't feel like post digging. But you leave me no choice. My comp is being rediculously slow atm, but I guess I'll deal with it anyway. *will be editted with supporting quotes to prove Hex doesn't read anything* EDIT: [hide=Post #7 on profile] It just accelerates the growth. Ask Rpg, he's got basically the same stuff, except his accelerates growth of the babies once they're born, while mine just accelerates their growth in the womb. Dusty's genetic tech is different from mine. How much so? I wouldn't know that. I assure you he never pilfered any of mine though Mine works like this: when on the convayer belt, the fetus at aprx. 6 months is injected with a serum that accels the rate in which certain strands of DNA reproduce. Most of this affects the pituitary gland, and the major brain synapses in the stem cell region. This serum could be considered "alive" in a sense that it accelerates the growth of Dna, however it in itself tires out after awhile and then merely maintains as apposed to accelerating. this is done by cutting and dilluting the amount of serum over time to balance the ratio of natural grwoth and genetic altercation. This process is in fact rather expensive. That's why altered clones are more expensive. Of course, that's just one altercation I offer. [/hide] [hide=Post #8 from profile] I'm the dude researching cloning, if your not happy about it, and I know this sounds like a stupid negotiation but if I am to quit Cloning, then I demand free or very low costing clones, and have them when ever I feel like it, or I'm carrying on, and if you declare war on such a trivial matter, I may not know much about your people, but your sure to have some protesting. Plus, I'm not going to give clones out, heck I'm not going to monopolize it, I'm just going to create clones for me cause I want to get a huge population, not quickly, but just fast enough, and due to the vertical farm, I'll be able to uphold a bigger population Your negotiations amuse me. I sell my clones at $1,250 per head, unaltered. I can alter them to be amazing at any generic skill. I can alter their endurance. Their life expectancy. Their maturing rate. Their growth rate. You can not beat me in the field of cloning. Did I mention that I can produce upwards of 500k clones for sale every 9 months? Yeah, you're not going to top that. Even if you could, I wouldn't let you. I can sell you as many clones as you need. But I'm not lowering my price, because frankly you don't scare me. (this is me on my bad side, I'd prefer everyone on my good side) Ascent has landed on Hex's planet and is supplying all civilians with weapons. Secretly of course. (so no simple "lulz i shoot down your ship" like nothing happened). As far as Hex's government is concerened, someone's been smuggling in weapons. You really have no way of pinning it on me. iVIVE LA REVOLUCION! (anyone wanna play as the rebels?) Done and done. 1250x20k in $ please. [/hide] Exactly where I said you'd find them. In my last 10 posts. With exactly the info I used. NOW DEAL WITH YOUR REBELLION OR LOSE CONTROL OF YOUR PLANET
  15. If i can't say there is a rebellion, then you can't say there isn't. I legitamitly smuggled weapons into your system, distributing them to your poor enslaved race. You have virtually no security, so there is no reasno why you can just say "Nuh-uh". Deal with your rebellion. Also, my people don't like the recent tax hike. They traditionally blindly obey, but human is human. To show a sign of good faith, Earth taxation has decreased by 1%. To field your question, I can add nothing to a clone. I can alter them to...why am I bothering to explain this again? I just did like 4 or 5 posts ago. Go to my profile and search my older posts. It'll be one of the first 10 you see. I was yelling at Icuownage if that helps. and the usual ending comment...
  16. Really? What's the difference between friendship and love if you take sex out of the equation? Sex is the thing I miss most when I'm single. But I do define sex as physical proximity in the large sense. You're a chick right? That's hot. But anyway, I agree. Without sex, a long term relationship is pretty much just a friend. It's better that we tell you this now than when the love of your life friend zones you. And then there's friends with benefits. That's basically just sex for the sake of sex. It usually ends in a mess though, which is why it's so uncommon. So here's the break down: Relationship with sex: normal relationship between boyfriend and girlfriend Relationship without sex: friends friendship: a bond between two people, mutual of course where both enjoy the compeny of the other Friends with benefits: abnoral relationship between friends, usually of oposite genders. no emotional attatchments. (sorry for awkward spacing, the ICP board seems determined to double space my post)
  17. How's the rebellion going over there, Hex? also @ PieisEaten: When did you send digging units into Zhoreuc? I've been skimming posts alot, I just want to clarify. - So...Errant Venture has returned to Earth (or the space around it as it were) with the plant sample and dumping payload of mined materials. It'll be reloaded with more diggers and cargo esque material and sent back to Zhoreuc. Heathen is complete, and is being sent to Mars to more or less chill. Sledge continues to monitor the Zhoruec border. Ascent is still in negotiatiing mode sitting next to Ross's ship. 4th carrier name is TBA. also it s 3/4 done. Cloning production rate has increased. Taxes have been rasied on Earth by 5%. Mars by 1%. Zhoruec is now tax free to promote population. As is Sega Res. still pumping out the clones...

Because someone who's decently prominent in OT made the thread? Why isn't the tif hegemony considered a game? I really think both threads should go to games. When I made the first post it was intended for people to post their Utopias, not interact with other posters and go on being nerdy &c. Everything being posted in story-type threads is all internet vomit, so I avoid them. How did you not expect Hegemony to turn into what it is today? You put a 'build your own empire' strategy game on a Runscape fan forum. did you expect order?
  19. Dusty did blockade. But as far as anyone is actually concerned, my ship is still there for negotiational purposes (as posted previously). So, unless he just wants to randomly blow my ship up unprovoked, he really can't do much to directly attack me. This should keep Hex busy for a few years as he frantically trys to tighten security on a planet where there are 50 civilians per guard. good luck.
  20. It just accelerates the growth. Ask Rpg, he's got basically the same stuff, except his accelerates growth of the babies once they're born, while mine just accelerates their growth in the womb. 22. that;s a flashlight, lol. But I do like that link, Doom. Nice find! I wish I could keep this post more concurrent to the game play :/ Heathen is what, like 4/7 complete now? 4th carrier will start production now as well. Doom, I again make my offer to spearhead the disaster drawings if you would teach me how.
  23. I was going to commend you all on the nice improvements I saw in post quality. Then I read page 66. Could have done with out that little(dumb) dispute. Ah, well. Can't win 'em all. I saw someone is researching cloning. That's my forte. You tread on my turf...you'll end up with a crater where your planet is. Ascent has been loaded up and sent towards Mather's system. And before Dusty freaks out, I'd like to point out that Ascent is merely a carrier ship, so it can't do all that much military activities. I just feel the need to help Ross with negotiations. A new plant has been discovered on Zhoreuc that has strange healing properties. So far, it doesn't seem to do much other than treat cold symptoms, but more testing will continue. Samples have been sent aboard Errant Venture to be taken back to Earth. btw, Mars map is wrong. I have more territory than that.
  24. exactly. I've yet to see a summary that covers ever major event. But that's not relevant anymore. I'm starting construction of rediculous amounts of cloning facilities all over Britain territory, permission has already been granted. This includes territory off of Africa.
  25. This. Humanity disgusts me. Some days more than others depending on how I feel. Or how closely I look at certain individuals. It gets bad sometimes. Bad to the point where genocide almost makes sense. They're all just hypocrits. Scum. [bleep]. Gluttons. Heathens. They are a demon by many names. I've considered life "Hell" and death the second chance at life. You know what the worst part is? We're all human. And there's nothing we can do about it. Sorry that this didn't brighten up the thread much
