bongo_man
In real life I'm quite timid and introvertive. I don't speak out in class--heck I don't talk much at all--or crack jokes and voice my opinion. I tend to keep most of my ideas to myself because I'm afraid of how others may see me if I were to share them. It's silly, I know, but that's just how I am sometimes. However, on the internet I'm more than happy to share my opinion on certain subjects- whether it be from the morality of abortions to cereal vs. waffles (CEREAL!). The anonymity gained when you post something gives me a boost of confidence, and allows me to share my ideas and discuss them civilly (most of the time) with other people without any shouting, violence, or anything that would cause the discussion to go haywire. So do you act differently on the internet? Or are you more or less the same person? Dizzle229
I think it has alot to do with the people you talk to on the internet compared to the people you talk to in real life. Get back here so I can rub your butt.
tripsis
I think I'm pretty much the same person. In real life I'm not that social but when I'm around friends I'm really goofy and silly and pretty much like a six year old. I think it's pretty much the same on the internet. I'm not the biggest talker in chat rooms or IRC or even forums or whatever, but when I do talk, I'm just myself. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Shazarabbit
I agree with Dizzle, you need to think that people online can really say or do whatever the hell they feel like with little if any repurcussions. If someone says something wrong you can just ignore them, or if they say something uncomfortable you can 'lol' without any awkwardness as you would get actually being with that person. I'm pretty much the same, I'm alot louder thats for sure. I mean lets face it, if you are trying to be something your not it will be found out and no one likes a liar. das
I'm pretty much the same person IRL as i am behind closed doors in messenger or whatnot, here on tif I am a bit more professional than I am usually ;P "Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. Intriguing
WAFFLES. I'm a lot more timid on the internet actually. Maybe timid's the wrong word... polite? I don't really make jokes or say anything all that interesting online, so you'd probably think I'd be an introvert in real life, but I'm definitely not. That applies to these forums. It's a bit different when I'm on MSN or Facebook or something where the person is still talking to Sam, not Intriguing. One thing though, I have a lot of difficulty talking to people in real life when the majority of our conversations beforehand have been on the internet. That can get a bit annoying. Cool. champion
Nope, I mostly act the same way on the internet as I do in real life; that includes forums like TIF where people don't know me irl, and on Facebook, where they do know me.
Wongtong
I'm pretty much the same in real life (hyperactiveness and all) but I'm more reluctant to tell people personal things about myself. Plus I get embarrassed when I compliment people, it's much more easier when I'm talking to them online so that they don't see me blushing or feeling embarrassed. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! fastortoise
I boast less (if not at all) about my accomplishments IRL. For example, I don't think I mentioned to my parents I got accepted at University - I should get around to that soon. The only people I've told is you guys actually, I don't see the point in telling my real life friends until a week before I start uni.
doomy
I'm probaly a bit more confident on the internet, but always more awkward to talk to in chats (find it easier to find something to talk about irl.), heh, And I swear and make more inappropriate jokes irl :P Doomy edit: I like sheep

I'm not into racist jokes but I tend to direct and somewhat negative with jokes but I have yet to meet someone in real that truly dislikes me in anyway. I'm like one of those people that can always get away with murder and still come out on top. I'm just a really likable person I suppose.
Zierro
I'm argumentative both offline and online. I tend to be more vulgar in person, and I have an easier time getting my points across in person than on the internet.
armourdilo
There's something WRONG with me!! I'm the other way around. I'm loud in real life and timid on the internet. Why? Passive-Agressive arguing. I know it's a paradox, but bear with me. We don't know who we're talking to a lot of the time, thanks to the great all-encompassing sphere of anonymity on the so called (by 4channers (spell check didn't pick that up as a spelling mistake... disturbing) and a lot of other people) interwebs. Due to this we can't always know what we can and can't say, who's going to be annoyed and how many people are just waiting to insult people for whatever opinion they have. This makes me uncomfortable, knowing that anyone can see what I say and anyone can say the cruelest thing possible to it. Sure I admit it seems petty to me, but that's how I am, up until a year or two ago, it was a problem in real life (and I still have little clue as to how it ended). Last time I was repeatedly trolled and insulted on another community (for playing Runescape), I left it. It's what I do

Plugpoint
I'm better at talking online than in person, not really sure why. It's pretty irritating when I've been talking online to someone who I don't see often, then when I do see them they expect me to be really talkative and I'm not  Maxed 15/06/
