Do you think that they let one man have that much control over the most devestating weapon we can use, devestating in the sense of it first killing millions of people and potentially ending the world as we know it? Of course not, you make it seem that he is [developmentally delayed], and has some God like powers to do the most undemocratic and ridiculous thing imaginable in the country so hellbent on spreading democracy. Yes i agree, the USA's foreign policy is a shambles but then again it has been for the majority of it's existance. For a country that now wants to throw democracy around the globe has a long past in enstating tyranical leaders into power and supporting their regimes. However no one is stupid enough to actually believe that one man now holds the power to destroy the world, and certainly not an American president and certainly not George Bush. When did I say Bush has power to launch nuclear missile? Thats right, never. I said U.S. has used nuclear bombs. And.. correct me if i'm wrong, the president does the final decicion on using nuclear weapons. You got me little wrong here. I didin't say he is mentally delayed or something. But surely there are better men to lead the country. One thing that makes him "not very wise" in my eyes is that he is pro- war. And no, i'm not 9, but even 9 years old know that war is stupid.

But isn't that like life usually is? In smaller scale ofcourse. I've discovered that I'm a bit of an optimist in spite of my cynical moments. So no, I don't believe that that is life. Because you have a future, or believe you have a future, and you give sense to your life, by having goals, choosing a job you want to go for, or a partner, or children, or sports, whatever. If you only have one more week before winding up in a wooden box, all planning and looking to the future is gone. If you still have a year, you can still accomplish things. But in one week? You have to make choices at a time when the choice has already been made for you. I think I'd fall into complete inertia. Actually, I'm pretty sure I would. Therefore: I'd rather not know... I understand what you are saying about goals and accomplishing things. But the truth is that you could die tomorrow. I would like to know, so I could tell my family and friends and say proper goodbyes I quess. By the way, I'm not afraid of dead at all but still this topic makes me feel a little :boohoo: .

Well, anyways, the guy in the book actually did live a year like it would be his last year: travelled alot, spend time with his friends and family and did every thing he ever wanted to I quess. No, but I've seen what that can do to a person... my friend's brother doesn't sleep on the weekends, he has all night WOW sessions. I kid you not. Yeah, it's an addictive game, just like all the other mmorpg's. Even runescape... That's why I play first person shooters now, they aren't addictive since you don't have to get gold, buy stuff and upgrade your equipment over and over again. Except Halo 3. I was visiting my mon and brothers some weeks ago and it totally hooked me. I would realize in the middle of the night that it was 3 a.m. , but would still start a new game because I only need 3 exp for the next level.. Or fame or what it was called. Sorry for offtopic post!
