I'm not into investing/predicting, so I'll go the logic way: 3a, spirit shields, godswords, barrows - all of these will increase in amount in the time you're gone. Rares - there will only be less. I'd go for a rare or two.

Go for TD's Droprates for claws are better then hilts at gwd, prices are higher then bandos/zamorak hilt. they're also easier to kill.

My advice is to take on a lot of members quest - It'll give you an idea of the new areas of Runescape, as well as providing useful rewards, EXP lamps and access to monsters that might drop rare items. You could start of by setting a goal of achieving the Quest Cape. This way you'll practially know everything about Runescape, and your stats will be somewhat high, because you need to get them up for certain quests. Just start from the top of the list ;) Another good thing is starting up slayer. It'll also give you an idea of the areas, aswell as making you a lot of money and training your combat skills at the same time. Then later you can get into other new skills etc. etc. Good luck :)
