  1. I'm not sure what the Sara GS is now. I do use mine sometimes, but it's mostly not really necessary.
  2. Hard to understand what motivates some people these days. Today I was logged in but briefly.. I walked over to the slayer tower to do some research, and some guy coming from the other direction passes me by. As he does, he says "ur an idiot" out of the blue, for no reason. Boggle.
  3. You're delusional. Free hint: even if RS is dead as far as you're concerned, that doesn't mean it is for anyone else.
  4. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet.. nor when it was done.. but you can no longer use the Guthans healing effect on turoths or kurasks.
  5. Have you considered fleshcrawlers instead? They are easy to kill, aggressive even to high levels (less clicking), close to a bank, drop lots of herbs and also have other great drops: noted iron ore, runes and so forth.
  6. Bounty Hunter was poorly designed and tested, and clearly "rushed to market". My hope and expectation is that Jagex will make major changes to it soon.
  7. You don't actually believe that, do you? How much "significant research" could they have done if the GE started out with rune boots at 180k, or any of the other whoppers that were in there? Hell, they still have yak hide armor pieces at 3k-4k a piece, and dragon shield left halves at over 400k. The sticky listing bad prices has been up there for what, three weeks now? ok if you think it is easy you and 100 of your friends tell me the average price of all the roughly 15000 items in the game Give me 50 million dollars in annual revenues and I'll be happy to.
  8. Funny. You see, I've merchanted in the past. Made a lot of money for a brief period of time while experimenting with it. Never ripped anyone off. In fact, I had several transactions where someone tried to buy something for too much or sell to me for too little and I corrected his or her prices. Being a merchant is not necessarily about ripping people off. It only is to those who are so selfish that they only care about making maximum profit at any cost. And yes, those are exactly the sorts of people that Jagex is trying to drive out of the game. For good reason.
  9. Oh my! Bouts of drinking and drug use? How can Jagex have such an awful, offensive name? I feel faint... Bring me my smelling salts! Give me a break.
  10. There is no flaw. They are already singling these people out for special attention. They should just do the job PROPERLY.
  11. I don't need to. Everyone but you knows that this is going on with many people, and frankly, I don't really care if you want to be in denial. It's your problem, not mine. And if Jagex wants to show the world that it cares this little about loyal customers, that's Jagex's problem I suppose.
  12. 1 person gets a message such as this and you go off about unfairness and whatnot. It's not just one person. Stop, engage your brain, and think about the issue. If Jagex wants to do this to people who have been using these names for years, the least they can do is to give them the stats and rewards they have earned on their new accounts. Simple and reasonable.
  13. Step in the right direction, but if they don't fix the slow updates and the 5% limits on ALL items, come January the markets on many products are going to seize up.
  14. Posting just made by Mod Mark:
  15. Only at the cost of a lot of server resources. And it doesn't matter that they could have fixed this with RS2. They didn't, for whatever reason, and more importantly, they don't need to. They can easily edit the replacement accounts -- and they should.
  16. It isn't. The problem isn't with the programming but with the database design. Consider this board. An admin could change your name easily, because in the database you aren't "Duke_Freedom", you are "userid # 690". That's what is used to index your profile, options, PMs, posts, etc. The only place you are "Duke_Freedom" is in a user data file, so that can be changed there and then it will appear everywhere else dynamically. If Jagex, rather than using a user number index chose to key using the user name, then changing user names would be extremely difficult. It could be done, but would require a large amount of work. The other options -- ignoring the whiners or editing the replacement accounts -- they have no excuses for.
  17. I don't think this is nearly as big an issue as some apparently do. There's a huge difference in risk between trading some shady stranger money for gold, and giving him or her your user account details. Anyone foolish enough to try this can probably be caught and banned pretty quickly, and word will get around pretty fast as well.
  18. (Originally published on TruthScape and copied here for the benefit of the Tip.It community and to spur discussion.) The TruthScape Soapbox - Issue #7 - The Doctrine of Estoppel Published: December 13, 2007 You̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re 17, you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve got a bit of a wild streak, and you just got your first car. Your state allows custom license plates, so you decide to register one that you think is cool, because it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a bit risquÃÆÃâÃâé. You̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re surprised when your local motor vehicles department approves it, but pleased. You spend thousands of dollars on enhancements for your car, drive it for a year or two, and then get a strange letter in the mail. It informs you that the agency has now decided that your license tag is ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åoffensive̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  19. I try. I'm no saint, despite what some may set up as a straw man to knock down. And I've really taken far more than my fair share from rather abusive people on this thread (and many others.) Sorry if I overreacted to your post.
  20. Amazing selective reading there.. I guess it's not "disgusting or childish" when your pal ego_scorpion calls me "trash" and tries to trot out (false) personal information about me, accuses me of "bribing" people etc? All his posts are deserving of is ridicule, as far as I'm concerned. The dialectizer is a lot more mild than he deserved after the comments he made. Correct, and thank you. Well said. Of course, they won't leave. They will hang around and spew bile, because that's the sort of people they are.
  21. Your post is a lot more fun after being put through the dialectizer. Elmer Fudd seems like a good choice...
  22. When I was six years old, I was in my mother's car. She went around the corner in an intersection, my little sister had opened the door, and she practically fell out onto the road. She survived, though. So clearly, car seats, seat belts and child-proof locks weren't necessary. Too bad the car companies didn't have Sly Wizard around to advise them not to bother with such unnecessary precautions. Actually, you never write articles. You just troll other people's threads with off-topic comments, lies and innuendo. The real difference is that I believe strongly in positive gameplay and I am not ashamed to make my feelings known. I've spent hundreds of hours writing material to help improve the game and educate players about how to play better and avoid pitfalls. You, on the other hand, are the sort of amoral and selfish player that Andrew Gower encouraged to leave the game many months ago. Anyone who thinks it is good for a kid who doesn't know any better to get scammed is the lowest form of scum. Even worse then RWTers, IMO. And the more the recent changes bother people like you and ego-maniac, the more it proves that while the updates need fixing, they were a necessary harbinger of a better RS community in the future.
  23. I suppose. On the other hand, "posting meritless opposing points of view to 'liven up' a thread" is practically the *definition* of trolling, is it not? ;) Opposing views is excellent. Personal trashing and mindless discussion is not. This topic contains most of the last two. And now I'm probably just fueling it more by posting this. Yet I post. Knowing that it is just more spam adding. Look this "discussion" is even making me do highly illogical things. Great Well, it's not all that bad a thread. And just consider how fitting it is that the two people who are posting personal attacks against me for my article are one guy who supports scammers and lurers, and an admitted price manipulator merchant. ;)
  24. Yep. I can help you with that. I have it saved. And it's very relevant to this thread, because the same issues apply. You could almost summarize his words as "good riddance to bad rubbish". ;)
