  1. What about it? He'd have to be pretty darn lucky to be able to grab another spawn just as he manage to hit 50% off the HP of the other monster, and it would certainly degrade his XP\hour. And he'd have to be safespotting, so every 2 minutes (at the most), he has to run out and grab his drops, getting hit and letting the meleer grab his monster. That's why few people safespot these days, and why the problem you mentioned is tiny. Well people do this when they have a slayer task for example hellhounds and they have generally no drops so they dont have to pick the drops up. As long as the person is going to finish their slayer task they might not care about the ranged xp. And Hellhounds have a rather fast spawn rate and if the meleers dont kill the almost dead ones it gets to the point of 90% of them being almsot dead and everyone is forced to kill the half dead ones. Hellhounds drop a lot of charms, well worth picking up. And for slayer, apparently most people don't realize that the XP is split 50\50 between the person who dealt the most damage and the person who hit the last hit, effectively halving the slayer XP of those ranging who leave them nearly dead  Hellhound tasks can be hell (no pun intended) http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=puns
  2. If you can't beat them, join them! I used to be annoyed, but now I do it too and I love it Lol @ people talking about how a ranger would need to pull back a bow and all. It's not like that's the only damn unrealistic thing here.
  3. I like playing with my F2P pure (or the other, screwaround F2P account) occasionally. No problem with that, right? Well, there is. I usually do this after stopping my (members) main for the day. Switching into the F2P mode, the thing goes into standard detail, the screen refusing to go any bigger, and when I click on HD it says "RuneScape was unable to enter the chosen detail mode". This only happens if I played with the members account before on that day, if I start with the F2P guy then it goes into HD all right. Does anyone have an idea?

Just never forget to exit each time after getting a new defender!
  5. Well, that's a pretty lame comeback. Warrants me thinking you're as stupid as the rant material here... I'm gonna put the way to use the ignore list into my sig.
  6. ITT: B'awwwwwww! I'd be all the happier with that bit of prayer. 5 combat levels for halved damage from every player? Hell yeah! Screw the people who whine about protect prayers!
  7. Lol @ people who adjust their sleeping habits just to play a bit more RuneScape. It's not like you'll achieve anything that affects your post-RuneScape playing, but you will regret screwing up your life in that phase. Jagex needs more professionals, people hired to kill rulebreakers, instead of some of these monkeys they appoint. It can't be anything but a lottery.
  8. I wanted to make myself proud and stop reading there, but I read on and I must say, you're pretty good rant material.
  9. Read my reply in the creative beggars thread about how I use my ignorelist. Do that and you'll feel your inner evil comforting you in these situations.
  10. And the thing that irks me especially... I was thinking he'd want to protect melee against dwarves and goblins for some reason, but then you already have monastery access. What, you want to protect item so you don't lose your precious one mithril scimitar? #-o

XD Anyways, you're taking this risk. You can get lucky and get 3 [insert good item here] in a row. Take me, I was on my first pyramid plunder trip yesterday, and 3 minutes in, I got a sceptre. Way to save cash!

watch your self when your doing gathering skills some people who i swear to god must have been rc pkers pre dec 10 07 have taken up a new hobby of hiting wcers fishers and miners (tbh id hit the hunters for their chinompas if anyone but ex rc pkers arent that clever :P Lol, I tried going there once, but there was nobody. It seems like most people still don't want to go to PVP to skill (nor do I, tbh)
  13. I could almost cry I love it that much. I doubt the general RS populous would catch the reference though. You're making it sound like not understanding a Monty Python joke is a sign of immaturity and underage. Beggars are easy to ignore in my opinion. For those situations when one begs specifically from you, here's a tip: add him to the ignorelist with one powerful click, and when you do it think of it like you're killing that beggar, that you're dealing him a huge blow that he'll never recover from. That thought will make you happy and you won't be annoyed by them anymore. Yes, I'm still sane.
  14. Lol, I just 1-item the new PK system to death, switching off protect item for just that one KO. As for being jumped over and over again, you could stop standing there, jumping people at the Lumby ditch and go PK somewhere else.
  15. Hmm, yes, something has happened to the wilderness. I wonder what. *scratches head red*
  16. Damn, is that quest challenging! Seriously, I was thinking the same. That quest isn't hard - unless you count keeping your sanity a difficulty. Even in Regicide, the traps that almost got me out of food were no difficulty, what with the hopping trays of spit-roastable food waiting on the other side. Now that I'm over those two stupid quests though, I can safely be king [bleep] and laugh at: I did feel a little uneasy killing all those rabbits, but at least I didn't discard the meat, which made up for it.
  17. 1 def pures are still rather good in F2P, in the lower levels (in the low level BH crater and until people can have a berserker shield w/ decent strength, respectively). Otherwise, pointless.
  18. Fairness replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
I agree. The only reasons I train slayer are for broad bolts and to spice up melee training, tbh. That's 'cause I don't have high melee stats to get, myself...
  19. You can always sell it back, at worst you'll incur a small loss...
  20. Aberrant Spectres
  21. First off, that will hardly get a few months of membership if I'm not mistaken. Secondly, I'm sure he can afford it. Ok, sarcasm and all, but still. I don't get these topics... I think it should be you who decides what to go for, not some forumers who know nothing about your playing habits.
  22. You could try wearing a funny cape or pants, I'd suggest a funny hat, but since you'd need a water tiara to avoid a horrible painful death, a hat is right out. I heard desert robes are pretty funny.
  23. Ermm. I have mined some stars. And i ALWAYS get 200 dust. No mather how many people who are "competing" for it. You clearly haven't seen some of the massive clans that exist. Or rather, several big clans ganging up on one star. You can be there in the beginning yet you won't get 200 dust unless the star's very big. At least, I experienced this.
  24. You need to buy the knowledge from a slayer master, then buy unfinished bolt/arrow tips from the slayer master (I think) and fletch them simply from headless arrows/bolts.
  25. Granite mining is the best. A method for finding stars: telescope, super energies and the ability to scout a big area methodically. I find it's the most reliable of all and will more often than not get you start that aren't entirely swarmed by a star clan (who thought up those anyway? Stars are not meant to be mined by 50 people in 1 minute for 40 dust/each).
