  1. Someone explain to me why mods, just because they are volunteers, should be able to make videos bashing a game that they volunteer for. If I started talking about how much the hospital i used to volunteer in sucked I totally would deserve to get kicked out, even if i was volunteering on my own accord. I also don't see why veteran players are any more important than new players, the money is the same no matter who pays it. In fact, it's a lot easier to make a new player addicted to RS than it is to make RS interesting to someone who has been playing 8+ years, so one could almost argue the logical thing to do for the growth of the game is to prioritize the pleasing of new players over the pleasing of the maxed/130+/veteran players.
  2. Stream, SOL and new mage stuff that came out after 07 makes welfare mage def gear obsolete. You really can't stop an RC pker if he knows what he is doing.
  3. Tokenns+cash is the most efficient, since you can get the tokens required to repair from 0 in like an hour, and you get dung xp when you get the tokens.
  4. There's bad stuff associated with a good majority of high ranked people on the high scores.
  5. I'm not sure what the added expense to changing a binary from isP2POnly from true to false. Other than the Bury-All, what we usually ask for has already been developed and isn't in use. Also as Kaida pointed out, the F2P segment gives JaGEx loads of free advertising from Book of World Records among other things. Adding extra content on f2p servers costs money, regardless if the stuff has already been developed. It also gives less incentive to join p2p, which lowers potential profit, which also happens to be the purpose of f2p. F2p obviously has a value to the game, that's why it exists. But adding new content to f2p wouldn't do anything. More things to advertise is useless if it doesn't actually get people to subscribe. This is where they would need to figure out little things to add to satisfy the f2p community, but at the same time, not enough to nullify the benefits of membership. They could get away with the more simple things being added into f2p without sacrificing potential profit, but they do need to add in new things as well. As the p2p progresses, so should the f2p, just more gradually than the p2p. You missed the point - the point is that there isn't any or very little benefit to satisfying the f2p community, and the costs it would take to put more content into the f2p game probably would make it un-worth it.

  7. More f2p content would be an investment in the game that would yield virtually no return. F2p players aren't an asset to jagex or the game in general, and no one has given a single offensive warrant for more f2p content. There only result is added expense which contributes nothing to the game.
  8. Pking is destroyed with or without the wild, the game's changed in too many ways other than wild/FT.
  9. TBH all you need atm is 99 str, turmoil, 94 mage, and you're all set for pking. You don't really need to max, at that high CB bracket pures don't exist anymore and everyone basically have similar stats anyway.
  10. A good range tank setup I used a lot was torags helm, CKS/DFS, and just d hide body/chaps for the rest w/ your normal accumulator/glory/snakeskin. You risk helm but have great defense as well as the well needed range bonus from the chaps. It might be worthwhile getting 80 def for the CKS or if you ever plan on using pernix, as well as 74 prayer for rigour, but heavily depends on your bank and if you're willing to invest time into dung. Rigour is actually pretty important and makes pking a lot easier, so it should be your next goal. And don't get above 70 defence if you plan to rely on range, your KO abilities start to plummet as you increase your CB lvl above 100, although you'll notice it's basically impossible to lose a fight in edge once you're 90+def with decent armour.
  11. You wouldn't be enjoying your account when sleeping or at school anyway, so it's efficient to bot during times you can't be efficient.
  12. You don't rager flesh or necrolord. And sometimes it's hard to know which leads to the bigger path, so the order that doors should be opened in if keying is key doors>skill doors>puzzles>gd (whichever doors take the shortest amount of time to open, although really it could vary depending on the location of your team, and puzzles can sometimes take as long as gds anyway). Same order applies to the rest of the team.
  13. It takes away the prestige of the game. I remember when I used to look up to someone with a high level or a skill cape, and now everyone can just bot them and not work hard. I'm not sure why it bugs me, but it just does lol. Not that it had much prestige to begin with, 99% of the game relies on repetive clicking patterns then skill. I see why its heavily botted. Honestly the more i look at videos of people doing it, the more i think rule breaks (bug abusers, lurers, bot makers, etc.) are the only people in runescape who have actual skills in this game. It takes a lot more work for one of those bug abusers to find a working bug then it does to get 99 in your pointless skill. Or a lot more skill to lure someone to the wild then it does to get 99 thieving. It would take more skill for me to hack jagex undetected and max my account than it would to do either of those things, it still doesn't make it more respectable.

Paying RL money for a bot and running it doesn't exactly take any more skill than repetitive clicking, which at least shows some sort of dedication to the game.
  15. It's their life. Let them mess around with their time, getting nothing done, and (probably) screw up their life so bad, they'll end up in between a rock and nowhere to go. Doesn't mean it was a bad thing that they got banned from runescape lol. Lets consider for a minute that the person who plays that often was terminally ill with cancer or advanced HIV and they didnt want to do anything but play runescape (honestly hold off your "they should travel the world" etc. for a second its their life and their dying wish) so they play 15+ hours a day, would it necessarily be bad that they do so? Honestly its pretty childish to judge on time played alone. If they are a single parent who plays 15+ hours a day instead of watching their 2 year old I might agree there is a problem. However everything you use to judge someone should be taken into account on an individual basis not some arbitrary all inclusive answer. I guarantee you that leveling up their runescape account is the last thing someone diagnosed with HIV cares about, and it's even more wrong to spend the remainder one's precious and scarce life on something as ridiculous as Runescape. It's not always right to judge someone's preferences and how they manage their time, but it's probably even worse for someone to care about Runescape enough to where their only dying wish would be to play Runescape. The statement that playing 15+ hours has negative effects on the mind and body is a fact, not an opinion. I normally avoid making all inclusive statements, but there isn't any situation where playing 15+ hours of runescape in one day would benefit someone in any sort of way, or have any positive impact on someone. Also, knowing there is only 24 hours in a day and knowing a reasonable time range spent on obligations someone has to have IRL, it isn't exactly arbitrary to say 15+ hours is horribly excessive.

  17. Well he probably had around a 50/50 chance at being right about a random person rcing being a bot, if not higher.

    Nomad

You can still use the pillars, you just can't stand there for very long and have to basically kite nomad while healing behind the pillars.
  19. Someone who plays 24+ hours straight or has a record of consistently playing 15+ hours per day probably needs to stop playing RS anyway. There is always a limit where you've played too much RS and seriously need to reconsider your life.
  20. Holy [cabbage] nice loot and risk man. So much ownage i can't even sleep at night.
  21. There are a ton of people that do <10m stakes who don't realize what they're doing wrong, and you can always find them at the duel arena anytime. Tons of pics of me consistently downing maxed players in mage boxes (or people genearlly 10-25 lvls higher), and i'm not even maxed def or hp. Of course my win ratio is only about 55% out of around 100 stakes, but even that kind of win ratio was enough to pull about 40m net profit out of the duel arena doing multiple 1-10m stakes over a period of 2 days, with a 100m starting cash pile (imagine the kind of income someone with say 10x my bank could pull in). You only need a very miniscule advantage over the general population of stakers to pull a decent profit and you don't even have to do the giant stakes you see in the videos to get an income better than conventional money making methods. I'm also pretty sure that the people who got their entire banks cleaned staking before were probably the people who didn't know proper staking techniques, or how much to bet on one stake, so mistakes certainly do happen in large 100m+ stakes.
  22. This isn't necessarily true. Using correct boxing techniques (like right spell order and setting in a mage box) sets your expected win ratio to over 50%, since there are always people who don't use the proper methods and are unskilled. At worst (staking against people who also do everything perfectly) the odds are 50%, but since it'll always be higher if you are maxed stats/use the right techniques your expected income should well be over 0. You just need a large enough bank to continuously do stakes to get closer to the true value.
  23. Happens anytime they do player imitations, draynor bank cutscene, new slug quest dung scene, cowkiller guy, ect. Also basically all the troll quests.
