Pking this is what it has become?
I don't see how it's different than any other form of close player interaction.

Runescape + total Computer Failure
I usually only run Swiftkit or MIRC at once, not both, don't even use youtube or anything since got music on SK. It's been fine until yesterday :\ Yeah i'm not talking about actual applications you have open, i mean check all the processes your computer is running, like if you switch over from the "applications" tab on the task manager to "processes" you'll see a bunch of things that your computer is also running (a lot of them necessary and shouldn't be touched). But since it only started recently, do you remember if you did anything unusual with your computer before then, or did something other than play runescape/browse the internet? You could try doing a system restore and see if it solves your problem.

Runescape + total Computer Failure
Open your task manager and try closing all unnecessary processes (not necessarily applications you have open) that look like they are taking up a large amount of memory and see if it stops or at least reduces your problem. If so, it probably has to do with having to many things going on in your computer, and your computer is, to put it bluntly, to [cabbage]ty to handle it. Or you are running an unusually large amount of weird things on your computer.

chaotic maul or rapier for my levels?
Idk why people perfer the maul when pking, i find korasi prods using rapiers as their main weapon to be a lot more frustrating to deal with than the people with a slow maul where i can pull nasty veng combos off of incredibly easily (although it goes both ways). Against range tanks/dharokers/high def pkers the rapier would probably better to break veng nicely with the occasional mid/low hits and keep up the pressure with higher dps, against low def zerkers maul probably would be better due to a lot more consistent high hits and KO potential. Just remember that since the maul is slower and deals higher damage per each individual hit than the rapier, a larger percentage of your damage with a maul will be venged back on you than with a rapier. You should also consider that the maul might be easier to kite with, although a rapier is probably a better primary weapon in a hybrid DM than a rapier, if hybrid fights are your thing. This probably holds even truer for someone without turm or piety, considering you will miss a lot with the maul without peity/turm you're better off with a faster weapon like the rapier.

Ring of slaying quick question
Yes. I'm almost certain that they don't. I asked a random lvl 3 skiller to assist me in making like 30 of them, so i can confirm the assisting person doesn't need to have done a single slayer task.

Pking this is what it has become?
Anyone your CB level pking will be guaranteed to have 43 pray. I don't think it's part of any unique advantage you have.
-
Pking this is what it has become?
You can't have a "no protection prayer" fight without turning off the ability to aggro pray, and there would be even more of an incentive to protection pray considering you can't leave the fight.

So my kid was banned!
*2001 DD was probably a kid (roughly) when he started playing, hence wanting to share it with his kids. I understand the feeling That's not near enough time to have started playing when he was only a kid, unless his kid is like 3 years old and playing RS.

Pking this is what it has become?
I don't think you actually understand what skill is... I still don't understand why one wouldn't pray in the first place. It gives you an advantage over the other person OR if you put on the same prayers then you're evenly matched? No one cares if it's easily matched when neither side can "win" due to lack of KO potential for both sides. That's why more and more pkers are switching to hybridding and tribridding. You can KO someone relatively easy as long as you are better at switching styles, which takes skill. No one hybrids in edgeville or normal pkiing worlds when it's ridiculously crowded with claw/korasi rushers everywhere you look. Don't pk in Edgeville then. There are plenty of other spots that are pretty popular. That are not as easy to get a fight as one of the pking worlds in edgeville. I don't exactly know a spot where people go to have one on one hybrid fights with people their lvl either, because anywhere mid-deep wild on a pk world is subject to being jumped by clans or people higher level than you.

Just returned from a long hiatus
[spoiler=Summoning]Most monsters now drop different colored charms that can be collected and made into pouches for summoning XP. Combat summons are mostly useless until high levels (89+) so the main benefit of training is to call familiars that hold items for you. [spoiler=Dungeoneering]Dungeoneering is a glorified minigame where you gain XP for continuously raiding the dungeons below a castle in the wilderness. The high level weapon rewards are a necessity for any competitive monster hunting. [spoiler=High level prayer]The Temple at Senntisten quest unlocks a new prayer sheet that isn't very useful until level 95. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_curses [spoiler=High level herblore]Various untradeable potions can be made with high herblore levels: Recover special will restore special attack energy but can only be sipped every 30 seconds. Super antifire gives full protection from dragonfire so you can use a good shield slot item. Extremes are combat potions stronger than supers. Overloads are all 5 extremes mixed. Damn, herblore got buffed hardcore. Any examples for 99s being easier? And thanks for the summoning clarification. And to the above. I left around a little while after skill capes (I think.) I remeber the biggest parts of the game were Abby demons, barrows and the GWD just came out I think. Increased number of people botting on their normal accounts. Increased ease of botting. Increased drive to do gwd and the new "monster hunting" trend, because of it's high profitability and "end game" content, which requires a lot of high stats, which drove people to train/bot their way there. A lot more inflation going around and money becoming more easily accessible for reasons i'm not conclusively sure of, (guessing at massive abuse of 76king during pvp worlds, general inflation from old pvp system, increased botting and rwt), resulting in a lot more expensive 99s to become easily accessible. Release of better training tactics for multiple skills. The grand exchange made items also much more accessible, therefore making getting the items for 99s much easier, although im thinking you left before the effects of the GE started becoming apparent when people finished buying their 99s. Flipping with the GE also allowed people to exponentially increase their cash, although this requires a relatively decent amount of cash to start with. The game has also become incredibly daunting to new players, and the amount of new players joining RS seems to be less and less, so you're going to see a very proportionality amount of high level players and lots of 99s, especially on p2p worlds.

Underground Fail
I got it at 53 agility and on my 2nd try. Hope this makes you feel better.

I can't take Jagex seriously anymore.
You mean people like pmods...?...and the way it is now? I agree.

I can't take Jagex seriously anymore.
Just like there shouldn't be PMODs because they have the potential to abuse their muting powers? I disagree. There would be a lot more instances of abuse if the general RS population had the power to mute. A corrupt PMOD would be a lot less common than a bunch of friends running around muting anyone they don't like. Or better yet have one person create multiple throwaway accounts and then have them all auto mute someone just for the lulz.

Pking this is what it has become?
You're right, I'ver never tried melee/magic hybriding with runecrafter robes before. But tell me how you would kill someone wearing green d'hide and a rune full helm and eats whenever he get's below 400. How about 500 or 600, or someone just trolling and eating whenever they lose any LP? And then tell me how you can stop them from hitting f4 and clicking the varrock tele button. When you can do that, you can tell me how it's ok to pk without the "honor code" in f2p, because in f2p it's almost pointless to pk against someone who doesn't let their LP drop below 300.

Pking this is what it has become?
I'm actually not sure what you're mage bonuses are, but if you go below negative 25 or so you just flat out won't do damage effectively even if you're 99 mage. If i'm wearing green d'hide you just are not going to hit me. Also, your max hit is still incredibly low and there's no combos you could possible pull off, so if i even stay above 400 lp, (which in p2p is just asking for a ko), you are not going to kill me, no matter what tactics you try and use, maybe you can get incredibly lucky with corrupt weapons but even that would be hard, and in which case ill simply eat above 500lp. And i'll just teleport when i'm out of pray/food.

K, I tried replying to this neatly but gave up. I'll just list your points in order. 1. Even if they're comfortably outside of KO range, they're still expending their resources and not attacking you. At this point, they should be perma-iced or entangled depending on location. 2. Flash your gear. It takes one tick to switch as many pieces as you can click and it doesn't interrupt. 3. The flail becomes better as enemy def level increases since it ignores defense as well as prayer. Against anything above a mix of rune and dragon, it's arguably more efficient than a whip. As for the PK-based builds that you mentioned, this is why it's a terrible idea to PK until you're max-combat because of Jagex's terrible combat level calculation method 4. Why the hell would anyone Edge PK? Just go to the duel arena for that crap. 5. There is no 5. Derp. Lol@ suggestion of veracs set of for hybridding. GL getting set effect to take place often enough to make a difference. And it takes more than one tick to do a 4 item switch (taking into account the time it takes to cast a spell or click attack as part of the tick). And the max hit of the flail is about the max hit of a d scim anyway.

Pking this is what it has become?
It's really a matter of tactics. Use everything at your disposal. Let's say I'm up against someone who is purely melee, in deep wild, and there's a 10 level difference between us with me being the lower leveled. They put on melee pray? I mimic their move and switch to fire blast. (You can now mage in full rune with a high enough magic level and mage dungeoneering gear.) Fast switching takes at best only a second. Usually they get surprised and after a few seconds switch to mage pray. In that case you switch back to melee. Whittle their health down. At this point they're the ones who try juggling to eat and prayer switch, they're barely damaging you, and all it takes is one fatal second of indecision. (To annoy them further, flash pray to the swing of their weapon, but it's not necessary at this point.) If they try to run away, well that's what binds are for. 4000 If I were up against a hybrid range/2her I would use different tactics when approaching the fight. Same for a pure ranger. This way, F2P pking is hardly a boring slap-me-silly scimitar fight in full rune with misses everywhere if you use what's there in the game that's available. Corrupt weaponry, dungeoneering weapons, etc. Because there are no rules like in a duel arena, every possibility under the sun is open to you. I guarantee you can't mage in full rune and expect to hit, not matter how high your mage lvl is. I can also guarentee you that no one my lvl in f2p could ever kill me if i even "safed" above 400 LP, even with a grav 2h. If i prayed melee they wouldn't be able to kill me at all. There's also no way they can switch the mage gear unless someone is using an incredibly slow weapon, i'd get off at least 2 shots on a shortbow by the time they finished they switch to mage gear and back. Also...teleports?

I can't take Jagex seriously anymore.
I'm not sure you'd be affected by these changes, except you'd be able to get muted quicker. I pay 6 bucks a month for jagex to take of their game and moderate it, not to be moderated by the other imbecile children. I'm going to want the 1 dollar that goes to customer support and jagex moderating staff if their jobs get taken over by Runescape players. With that notion you're assuming pmods are carefully selected. I got modded at age 13, and I can't say I was as mature as I'd personallly would like pmods to be. Hell, there's plenty of pmods that abuse their positions (though many of them are just fine). Point is, current system is everything but flawless. That said, if I were a new player to the game, and therefore F2p, I'd quit upon seeing the mess that is the grand exchange. It clearly gives the game, and therefore Jagex, a reputation of being out of control. If i were a new player and got muted because a bunch of players who got upset decided to abuse the report feature and get all their friends to auto-mute me, I would quit the game because it shows how horrible the community is. At least let new people find out how horrible RS players are themselves instead of smacking it in their face.

Jagex taking stance
*Looks at stat signature and sees 99 wooductting at 92 combat* that damn bot.

Pking this is what it has become?
God spells are really outdated and are just a sentimental reminder of old school pking. Fire surge with stream and c staff is better now on the normal spellbook. Hybridding in edgeville is a "come claw rush/pj me" invite.

Why do they still call rs a mmo
It's not like herb is any cheaper than it was before, i don't understand why people think lvling herblore is any cheaper seeing as the potions(which determines how much money you save) crashed just as much as the herb (which is how much it costs).

quetion, going for 99 range
Ape atoll monkey skeletons are better xp for both, and the random ancient staff drops probably aren't worth the loss in xp. Bursting lobs is also a good alternative.
