MMORPGs
You aren't going to really find a free to play MMO that doesn't have a cash shop feature. Afterall f2p is just another business model, they need to make money some how -- nothing is free. :)

Official Aion thread (Visions update)
I really don't know how to explain it to you, haha. Traps are a good thing to have. They can come in use, they have their use in both PvE and PvP. (I've seen them used well). However they are not the "selling point" of the class. What I mean is that one would consider the selling point of a cleric to be their heals, or the selling point of the chanter to be their hybrid nature and buffs, or even the selling point of the Templar is his tanking abilities. The rangers "selling point" is that they have some of the best burst from a range, they have a nice assortment of CC and can kite well. They're pretty much a ranged Assassin (who's main selling point is high DPS and CC). For the record each class really does have it's own role in PvP: Chanter: Buffer for the group and a mix of off heals and damage support. Versatile class. Cleric: Main healer for a group. Spirit Master: Crowd Control class. They don't do much damage, but they have the best CC in the game (a fear, a "bind wings" skill which takes flight time off of the enemy). Sorcerer: Traditional Nuker class, does high burst and has low HP. Gladiator: A heavy armor wearing DPS, able to be in the front lines without any problem. Templar: A tank, obviously, they have some nice pulling abilities and such for PvP and still do pretty good damage. Assassin: Very high DPS, useful for taking out healers due to their multitude of stuns. Squishy class though and will get bum raped if caught out of stealth for too long. Ranger: Pretty much a ranged Assassin, they have high DPS, a good assortment of stuns and silences and are useful for taking out healers.

Traps aren't the selling point of the class though. They are a pain in the [wagon] for healers, due to their massive CC, burst damage and silence shot skill.

Where do you hope you're going to University?
I'm just glad that my parents understood when I wanted to drop out of the first college I went to. It was up in south dakota, and I sort of felt like I had to go there because we go in state tuition. Was pretty [bleep]ing terrible and I hated it. Everything is so much better at college though when you're at one you enjoy. I did end up taking almost a year off though, but I was still only 19 when I joined in as a freshman. Heh, I doubt anyone here is planning on going to college around Kansas, are they? I go to pittstate university here. :D

Your musical compatibility with kLiiMaXx is Very Low Music you have in common includes Pendulum, Disturbed and Daft Punk. Ouch. And I don't even actually listen to Pendulum or Disturbed, lol.

Official Aion thread (Visions update)
All the classes take plenty of skill. :) The reason the guy could use traps well versus me is that I have little C/C at that level as a chanter. You can arm them pretty quickly. At any rate you don't even really need to use traps a lot of times, I often times don't see rangers use them much in 1v1. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here. There is a tourny video (only level 45 though) but it shows a pretty damn good ranger in it. Gives you an idea how they play out in 1v1.

Official Aion thread (Visions update)
It's not 1v1 oriented. You will probably want a group to really survive in the abyss, I know I will personally be rolling with a group in there most of the time. Also if you use your traps right it works. Run up to the enemy, trap and run off. It's sort of a bold move versus some classes though, but a ranger did it really well against me in the last closed beta during a duel.

Updated my Setup
What I would personally do: - The PSU seems a bit underpowered for running a 4850. I think it would work, but I would feel a hell of a lot safer if you got a 550 or 600W PSU. - I would go intel instead of AMD, better for gaming around that price range IMO. A good core2duo would be a good choice. (Like E8400 or so?)

More from Cac... (oh, lawd, not again! (lol))
The waist and hips seem pretty skinny, even for someone who is pretty strong. At the very least they look awkward. I like the weapon though, and the slight glimmering spot you gave it is a nice touch too. His left boot (right on the screen) feels a little off though.

What makes you who you are?
My signature quote. :D [hide=picture][/hide] As far as the OP goes, you'll be pretty hard pressed to find me really pissed off. I hide it pretty well I think, which isn't always a good thing. I just don't find the use in arguing for something that I don't care all that strongly about. Apathy isn't that unique though :/. Other than that I'm probably your average guy who probably spends a bit too much time on the PC between school and everything else.

Manga/Anime Discussion
Yeah I'm having a hard time finding something that might interest me after watching Monster. In all honesty I don't think anything can top that one for me. Unless someone knows something in the same sort of style maybe. Well that or something like Lain. :P Also I tried getting into Tehxynolze (or however you spell it) but the first ep was confusing as [bleep] so I just sort of put it down. :?

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
I sort of said [bleep] NWN for now and I'm torrenting Baldur's Gate II. (I own the game, I just don't have the CD's around anymore here). I figured if I'm going to [bleep]ing play an old school RPG I may as well play the best one ever made. Not to mention the game is probably close to 200 hours long counting in it's expansion. Mostly I was just getting tired of only having control over my guy. The henchman AI this time around in NWN sort of made me angry to be honest.

Games Franchises that Should Give Up
I dont understand what you're directing this at? I'm assuming he means the Final Fantasy series. I understand why, I hate that series with a passion, but as long as they're still selling as well as they are, it would be stupid of them to stop making them. If he means ALL games with an anime art style, I can agree for the most part, but Kingdom Hearts is pretty damn good. You really had to pick the worst game out of the bunch that uses an anime influence? (JRPG). I'm not a big fan of JRPG's but every now and then they come out with a real gem. Generally a lot of stuff Atlus translates is really great. (Like Persona 4, for example. I haven't played it but I've been keeping up with the Giant Bomb's endurance run of it, and it looks like a lot of fun and the storyline is great).

Official Aion thread (Visions update)
Rangers have a load of CC, can kite well and do great burst damage. Plus a ranger that knows how to use traps correctly (in a 1v1 fight) is a tough match. Of course if you just stand still and shoot you'll get pooped on, so kite :P. As a chanter (the best 1v1 class probably pre 30) my one really tough matchup was versus a ranger. It's not like you should really look at 1v1 fights anyways, this game isn't about fighting 1v1.

MapleStory
Probably because it's a bad game.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Pretty much same here, except I already had the vanilla and SoU, just got HotU a few days ago. Cool. I've gotten up to around Chapter 3 in NWN again, but I'm sort of getting bored. It just feels like my build choices have not worked out very well so far in game. I think I might just start up HotU so I can start as a level 15 character, and try something else entirely. I did a 10 rogue/1 ranger (DW daggers) which was pretty good, except for the fact that a large portion of enemies in the original campaign are undead and are immune to sneak attacks. I also did a 5 druid/5 shifter/1 monk, which was a cool build but I don't really get the amazing shapeshifts until later. I'm currently debating if I want to make a new character (probably a 2H barb user) or continue with the shapeshifter guy I have in hopes of a better shapeshift :P.

grind meter
* Lineage II (100 days) * RuneScape (100 days) * RF Online (65 days) * Archlord (60 days) * MapleStory (60 days) * Vanguard (35 days) * Final Fantasy XI (35 days) * Lord of the Rings Online (27 days) * EverQuest 2 (25 days) * World of Warcraft (15 days) * Star Wars Galaxies (10 days) * City of Heroes / Villains (6 days) * Dark Age of Camelot (3 days) * Guild Wars (2 days) * Warhammer (10 days) * Age of Conan (25 days) * Pirates of the Burning Sea (7 days) Source: [1] What this list means is how many days played does it take to get to the "max level" in a game. It's pretty accurate from what I've played on the list to max level (AoC should really be 10 days, not 25). Needless to say putting runescape as a 1 on the grind scale isn't going to help because it is the worst game there is to actually grind in other than Lineage II. (And I think they are talking about old school Lineage II, not the Gracia expansion Lineage II). Think about it though, runescape takes 2400 hours of gameplay roughly to max out all of your skills... I would wait for Aion, Ray gave a good link to my post on it. There should be an open beta in about a month, so chances are you can get in on that if you want. What are you most interested in, PvP or PvE? If you absolutely loathe PvP than you might want to stay away from Aion (it's totally possible to PvE your way up to 50 and just PvE, but most of the game revolves around the PvP conflict). LotRO is always a decent choice I have heard for a PvE game. You could try WoW too, although keep in mind that the "end game" in WoW is either reputation grinding, battlegrounds/arena grinding or raiding (which not everyone is a fan of). WoW will probably feel the least grindy out of the games, especially since it's level spread is between 1-80, where as other comparable games time wise are 1-40 or 1-50. Aion I would rank taking around the same time as WoW to hit max (level 50), this is just a guess based off of what I have both read and experienced so far (level 22 in closed beta). I don't think you should just a game just on it's "grind" or not though, but what there actually is to do in it. I will say that you want to stay away from WAR and AoC, they both are losing rapid subscribers. I would wager both of them are around 100,000 subs now , which sucks because both of them need players around you to have any fun. Guild Wars isn't really a true MMO I think, it's more like a more active online version of Diablo II if anything, although if you have never played it I would recommend it as the actual campaign experience in the game is wonderful, and quite challenging at times. The PvP in Guild Wars is good too if you like instanced PvP, and if you can get lucky enough to get a good guild for it. Meh feel free to ask me anything though, I think I've played and read enough about MMOs that I should be able to answer most questions.

What are you listening to right now!?
Starting to like them more? :) Yeah. It all started to click together after a minute or so of listen #2. There are so many subtle things in their music that I never really noticed first time around. Maybe I just need to listen a bit closer to them then.

say "hi!" Tag Tutorial
Well I'd appreciate it if next time you didn't post telling me that it's crap. I've taken the time to make a tutorial in the first place. If you don't like the outcome, don't follow the tutorial. I wasn't planning on following the tutorial. ;) It still doesn't change the fact that it doesn't teach much other than how to use a Gradient Map, which is painfully easy to explain anyways. Most of the rest of the signature is attributed to the image you took. If you're going to go through the time to make a tutorial (which is great, tutorials are a great thing) make one that teaches someone how to actually make something, not mess up another persons image.

What are you listening to right now!?
Listened to a bit more Gorod tonight. They're good, yeah, but I don't think anything has really "clicked" with me about them like some of the other people here. Maybe I'm not just as big of a death metal fan. :P
