Pirated movies: Why?
Re-read my post, I specifically said there is no direct or indirect causes with piracy and sales. I didn't say piracy helped sales, however it certainly does not hurt sales either. It just is there. Like you said yourself too pirates are a small percentage. And really, excuse me if I don't feel sorry for a studio who is making hundreds of millions off of a movie and still feels the need to complain about pirates "hurting sales". You really think just burning a CD is a thoughtful gift? :? And as long as we're talking about piracy in general here I, personally, still put in tons of money into the video game industry. If I feel a game is going to last for more than 6 hours or so, or if it is from a reputable company (like Valve), then I will buy it. I do buy plenty enough games. However, the rest of them? Well if I'm really bored I may pirate something, be it an older game or one I just don't care enough about otherwise. With regards to video game piracy, by the way, I find that used games hurt real sales plenty more than piracy does. When you think about the average consumer, what's the chance of them just buying the used copy for $5-$10 less than what a normal copy goes for? The game company doesn't get profit from the used game, in fact it is a good bit like piracy just that you're trading the physical medium, and you're trading it for actual cash. Anyways that got off topic a bit, but really pirates are by large generally people who won't pay for a service if they can't get it for free (be it music, movies or video games). (Also on the topic of video games, but the way I feel is that if they had some sort of rental service for PC games I would be all over that -- and would probably not pirate near as much. Something like using valve's steam service for rentals would be amazing. The fact is a lot of times I don't want to pay $50 or $60 for what surmounts to a 6-12 hour game with no re-playability.)

Pirated movies: Why?
So they should obtain it for free anyways, regardless of whether or not it hurts sales? The graph leaves too many variables by nature. As a technology becomes more develops, more people being to use it. Look, you obviously disagree with it morally -- but why can't you just accept the fact that there is no direct or indirect relationship with pirating and movie, music and game sales? I mean if anything just look at the article Errdoth posted.

Do YOU Pirate Music?

Pirated movies: Why?
High prices have nothing to do with piracy. Well, the company might raise prices and blame it on piracy but it is just an excuse to raise rates. Piracy doesn't affect the amount of legal viewers. Well, it doesn't affect it all that much. And it works both ways, piracy can hurt movie sales a bit, but it can also help them. Piracy=fewer customers=less profits for movie theaters=higher ticket cost=fewer being able to afford fare=rut. It's flawed thinking to view pirates as potential customers. Sure, there might be a small percentage out there that would go see more movies if they didn't pirate, but that is a crazy low percentage. Think about it, most people who pirate movies pirate them because they don't care enough to go spend $10 to see it. I don't really pirate movies but I would have the same method of thinking. I'll go see the stuff in the theater that I really want to watch, just because it's a better experience then, but other movies? I'd just pirate it. Also a lot of pirates pirate the video and go to the theater. Needless to say, with any sort of piracy, a pirate does not equal a lost customer. Anything I pirate, personally, I would not have bought anyways. Man, that's awesome. Too bad my campus doesn't have anything similar. Also as far as the watchman thing goes, a lot of people end up leaking a video before it is released. It happened with the wolverine movie, for instance. The fact is with so many people that probably work on a movie the chances of someone leaking it online is pretty large.

Pirated movies: Why?
Pirating isn't stealing either, it's copyright infringement. If you don't know the difference then too bad. Though isn't "public display" still copyright infringement? I remember the stuff awhile back, the warnings that said you are not supposed to show them in public areas, which should cover schools, would it not? (Since Prisons were a listed example.) It's the same effect, just on a larger scale. :)

Need Opinions
The original size is 1600x1200, interpolated with Photozoom Pro 2 to 3200x2400, although I'm not intending to print it at any size above 5x7, for the exact reason of it's quality being pretty crap. Alright, I was just wondering. :P

Is that the full size image right there that you'll be printing? I really hope not.

[How to convince someone to get a new internet browser]
1) Norton does actually do a better job then you seem to give it credit for, the problem is that it is just far too resource heavy. 2) The dad doesn't think that. Plus commercial websites are designed for IE because most of their customers use it. Just like the Apple site is more likely to be designed for Safari and the Ubuntu site for Firefox, it makes sense to design your websites to best suit your customers. Any web designer worth their salt will design and make sure their website works in IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari. Of course for IE I'm only talking about the latest version, no one really gives a [cabbage] about the low % of users that still cling onto outdated browsers such as IE6. Personally I mostly just debug any site I do in Firefox and IE, although if I get more serious into it I'll have to make sure I have Opera/Chrome/Safari to check in too.

What's your favourite under-rated band (or song)?
Thinking I'll add down Primordial to this as well. I don't think they're too well known.

My origami & Painting
except that you're drawn to the largest part of the image (well not really drawn to anything, your focal is skewed between the red and blue) which would mean that the conformists (who are the largest group) are the ones standing out, not the individual. The little splatters on the canvas do nothing to it. Shin pretty much summed up what I was going to say though, there is just no composition at all to this piece. I'm really not sure on why you picked red/blue either.

Only thing with huntsman is it is more of a luck gun then skill. It's not really hard to shoot around a corner, of course you'll hit someone. I ended up stop using it because I couldn't get a kill when it MATTERED. Sniper can be pretty good with support up in closer range though with jarate/huntsman at time though.

death and beyond
Right now I think that nothing happens, that death is the end for us, and nothing happens after it. However the world is a very strange place and I wouldn't put anything at certain. While I don't believe that a god created everything or that there is some mastermind behind everything in the universe it isn't within the realm of possibility that something else happens when you die other than nothingness.
