I'm one of your stupid Americans who only knows English. :P
  2. As of recently, obviously, my laptop. The thing is a [bleep]ing beast -- something one wouldn't expect from a company like Gateway. But honestly any laptop that can run Crysis at Medium/High settings at a solid FPS is good in my book, even better when you look at the price I got it for ($1,100. A sale at best buy none the less) So yeah, it's pretty odd (lol buying a gateway laptop at best buy, and the thing is a BEAST and cheap? wtf) but I love the thing.
  3. Thanks. Do you see the gradient at all ven? I might turn it up a bit or make an interesting pattern. Also I'm going to be using Javascript, eredoth showed me a bunch of nice frameworks.
  4. Wolfie you have way too much time on your hands. :P . Sure go ahead and make me feel like a [bleep] about it now. @YHaiThar: Concept artist? lol. That's all I've got to say considering you put absolutely no effort into it at all.
  5. Yeah I actually didn't mean to change it's placement, just noticed that. You are right, this shouldn't be a scrolling site. Either way I think it looks better w/o scanlines.
  6. MONO's You are there album. I'm falling in love with this band.
  7. One Step More and You Die, or Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined. All their albums are excellent though. Get One Step More and You Die for sure though. I once read a good analogy of it, "public transport in musical form". Can't say whether I agree or not, but regardless, it does feel like a 'journey'. maudlin of the Well - The Blue Ghost/Shedding Qlipoth MONO's One Step More And You Die album.

    Heavy Rain?
  9. Yeah a lot of that I'm planning on doing. Right now I'm just sort of wracking my brain thinking of something to do to make this better. I like the layout I made (and apparently you guys do to) that doesn't need to change much, I think. However I am just trying to think what I can do as an artist to give it that little bit of something extra it needs. [hide=New version][/hide] Haven't implemented the rounded thumbnails again yet, was experimenting with some other stuff. I changed the font (and upped the size to 14pt header and 12pt body) to something that I think looks a bit more professional than the standard Myriad Pro I seem to use a lot. Now the biggest challenge for me is to try and think if I need to deal with the empty space, and how to go about that.
  10. I don't think they hurt it, but give it a more cartoony feel. You don't like that nad? Not really a fan of the rough cartoony look. That being said I'm not a huge fan of runescape fanart in general (I don't think the game provides good enough looking base to inspire from ;p) but I think that no black lines would have really helped it.
  11. MONO's Under The Pipal Tree album SilverSword, what would you consider their best album?
  12. Yeah I did that on purpose Adrenal. :P
  13. Pity, the black lines really hurt it. You wouldn't by any chance have a version without them would you?

Experimentation is good, but this looks like you were experimenting with more than just signatures. :P
  15. I'm assuming (hoping) they aren't reusing the modern warfare engine so chances are it will be tougher on your system. Anyways I may get this, I don't know. I never really got into CoD 4 much to be honest, even though I recognize it as a well made game. I think if they're putting in all new gameplay modes and such than I may give it a shot.
  16. MONO's Follow The Map Downloading 4 of their albums right now. [cabbage], this song is amazing.
  17. EDIT: After talking to errdoth about it I may go javascript afterall. I didn't realize how easy it was to do some of these animations in javascript but it seems better now that I look at it, for what I want to do. I like the idea about the icons Wolfie. I think I'll do that. As per the rest of it I'm deciding on where to put the thumbnail now. I have a few ideas: 1. Hovering over the icons will show a slightly larger one of it, like on the dock. It also will show the info in the chat box below. If you click it it will show a slightly larger image on the bottom of the screen (or left/right?) and if you click that you will get the full version. (Possibly with a lightbox-esque style, I'll only put the full size 1680x1050 images as a download this time, so it will fit on any monitor). 2. Hovering over it shows a chat balloon (or something) with the larger scale image, and the info in the chat box. Clicking on the thumbnail will activate the lightbox-esque deal, with links to full size downloads in the box. Right now I'm thinking of doing #2, it seems more user friendly in general to me. I'm still going to work out something new to do with the background. I might experiment with scanlines some more and I may just remove them outright but I will find a way to make the site look more visually interesting. :) The good news is too I have a 1680x1050 monitor, a 1920x1200 monitor (laptop screen, only 17" though) and I can easily test it on my families 1280x1024 and 1024x768 screens too. The other good news is I broke down and applied to a bunch of places here, so I think my goal is to make this site look as great as possible so I can possibly get a web design job next school year. So I have some time to get this done right.
  18. Your linking the gamefaqs forums? Hah. People who [bleep] about tier rankings are really annoying, especially when Sagat usually only wins 1, 2 tops more against certain players. The game is balanced especially because the skill cap is so high. Complaining about players being cheap, or players playing "cheap" characters is sad. Especially when you consider yourself a pro.
  19. Dizzle, were you in DC for memorial day? The reason I ask is I was there (I live next to DC) and saw a bunch of students on a trip. I might have seen you there and not have known it. :?
  20. I'll see what that looks like. Interesting. Are you saying just pop it up in like a little message bubble above the "dock" with some info on it, or somewhere else? The big thing is to make it friendly enough that you can check out the full version if you want.
  21. I see what you're saying. I def am trying to get it so that the attention is focused on the center more. Heh seems like people are 50/50 about the scanlines, like I was. :wall:
  22. Alright, gave the gradient background a go. Which version? [hide=No Scanlines][/hide] vs [hide=Scanlines][/hide]
  23. I actually did consider the dock, i think it sounds like an awesome idea. As far as the background goes I don't know if a gradient covering it would look good or not, I tried it with my last site and it didn't look very nice. However I think if I could figure out some cool vector things or something to do with the background that could really spice up the site a lot.
  24. Great CC. Yeah I have no idea wtf in the code is making it missalign all of the sudden (didn't change anything) but needless to say I'm more worried about the new design now.
  25. Squared it is then. Now for it to scale properly does everything need to be a vector or how does it work? Like, do I just design for a large scale monitor and it will scale down properly or what?
