All the games 2011, damn. Can't wait for ME3. Also rumors of there being multiplayer.

Call of Duty 7: Black OPs
I just wish developers would stop lying. "we're a PC dev first" -- [cabbage]. Tired of getting second rate ports from an inferior platform (purely technically speaking here mind you, I can't stress that I'm talking about a TECHNICAL point enough) that is riddled with issues. Either they cut out features that need to be in a game (dedicated servers) or they flat out don't understand how PC's work and bring some shoddy half-assed console port in well knowing that consoles and PCs are not made in the same way and do not function the same way. Honestly the PC patch that is coming up better fix the games issues or I'll just up and forget about it.

The official World of Warcraft thread.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/dragonmaw/gatoraide/simple 2 days 8 hours to get to 60. That's including a bit of afk time too. Also my trinket combination is awesome. Quick like 1600-1700hp burst heal. (They don't share CD). Really enjoying warlock so far, especially demonology. I have a really good feeling about my 2v2 and 3v3 comps I'll be running. (Warlock/Paladin 2v2 , Warlock/Paladin/Rogue 3v3). Some other thoughts on WoW post 4.0 now: I'm actually really pleasantly surprised with WoW. While it still is just you running around doing quests I felt like the 1-60 experience was tenfold better than before. Western Plaguelands, Eastern Plaguelands... they both had some of the best quest chains I have played in the game to date. It's clear that they have learned a lot over the years about what is fun and not fun... and the new quests are actually enjoyable. I enjoyed and actually read some of the quest text with the 1-60 zones. This coupled with the fact that progression is so much more streamlined.. it really is an entire different game. I have leveled 1-60 and I have no once stepped foot in Kalimidor save for when a dungeon queue takes me there. I find that crazy to be honest, to think of all the zones I actually skipped. It used to be that you would scramble for quests and that would mean you would have to go to zones that, quite honestly, sucked. Now I pretty much stuck around with the "dwarven" side of things. There is a really clear progression out there and it's nice that each zone essentially has its own story arch going on. No longer is it just a random assortment of quests you don't care about. I think the direction Blizzard is taking WoW is a good one. They've realized that a quest model like this can be fine if the quests are interesting. I think they also realized that having fun content is much more important than making sure the leveling experience lasts long enough. This is such a huge difference from the way they took things back in Vanilla WoW and I like it. Grinding endless mobs for no reason is never fun. So yeah, there is just a lot of things that I actually am very surprised about. I mean, I thought I could have a bit of fun for a while but I'm actually legitimately enjoying the leveling experience (at least 1-60, I'm sure 60-70 will kinda be boring) for probably the first time in my time playing this game. It's easy to hate Blizzard but [bleep] man, they kind of know what they're doing.

Any old school users still here?
'02 here... I think.

Call of Duty 7: Black OPs
Don't worry once you get hardline pro they'll be all over them like [bleep]ing vultures. You won't even have a chance to try and swap it out.

Call of Duty 7: Black OPs
Yeah I pretty much just stopped playing the game until it gets fixed for good. [bleep]ing pathetic really.

Call of Duty 7: Black OPs
Yeah you don't want to play the PC version if your goal is to get away from issues.

Shameless promotion of my teenage white rap group
I'll be honest, I'm embarrassed for you listening to it.

Batman Arkham City
Fall 2011? Man :(. The first one was a great game. I actually didn't believe the hype until I played it for myself; so fun (save for the kind of meh boss fights).

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
If we are using the genre = food analogy the way I see it is: Say the major genre (rock) is itallian food. Than we look at metal (a sub genre of rock) as, say, pizza. From there the sub genres of metal are different types of pizza. They have significant differences but they are still pizza.

The official World of Warcraft thread.
Level 40 Warlock now. Leveling is much easier now it seems like. There are a lot of little things that I really like about the changes they have done since I've been gone. Just little UI things and then bigger things like how questing progression at lower levels is immensely better. I'm actually enjoying my self questing right now for the most part. I do feel like the outlands will probably kind of suck now, but eh. Was there arenas in 07? Can't remember.

Super Meat Boy
On the 360 version if you did that it would [bleep] up your save data.

Tilt: Wallpaper
Good point. I was trying fairly hard to make the lower clouds look a little more like fog than anything. If anything I would probably just rid the lower clouds.

Tilt: Wallpaper
Thanks. I don't think I'll go back to this one after all, might try something new though next week or sometime. I do want to experiment with some different perspectives and angles though. It's kind of the funny thing about Terragen, it's just as much using your skill as a photographer as it is a 3D Designer. A big part of it is just getting that right shot in the scene :P. Also what do you guys think about the clouds? They were my major priority for this because traditionally all of my clouds have sucked ass in Terragen 2 so far and in Terragen 1 clouds just weren't that powerful. I'm starting to get a handle on the atmosphere changes they did in terragen 2.

Call of Duty 7: Black OPs
I've tried both. Problem is up close you're just going to get out shot by a 74u sub, long range I think the m16/G11 are better and mid range a fammas/commando will win. It'd maybe be ok if you could fire it a bit faster but when even I can easily get it to "jam" there is an issue. I actually kind of hoped too that there might be some use with m14/FAL with an acog but the recoil is just way too high to be useable that way.

Holiday Gifts
New headset. I've had mine for a good 4 years now. Other than that nothing too much really, probably some nice clothes because I'll be doing some interviews more than likely next semester for internships. As far as other people who knows :D.

Call of Duty 7: Black OPs
If it wasn't it would be abused to no extent. It would be like the ultimate accurate automatic weapon that all those prestige modders obliterate people with. :ohnoes: Again, since no one answered me before, what is the problem with just setting a fire rate cap on it? It's not hard to do. Instead they have this stupid "jamming" mechanic (which I still think is a bug) which makes the FAL/M14 pretty [cabbage]ty guns. Seriously, fire rate caps are how normal developers handle issues like scroll wheeling on PC. You make it so that no matter how fast you click a gun will only shoot up to so fast. BAM! problem solved.

The official World of Warcraft thread.
I made the executive decision to come back and see how cata goes. Right now the plan is to roll a warlock/paladin 2v2 comp combo. (Me warlock, roomate paladin). At least the game will have rated bg's and stuff to keep me busy too instead of 24/7 arena. Patching right now (3.3.x to 4.0.0 lol)

Tilt: Wallpaper
Yeah the grass is kind of set on an odd spot, it shouldn't be too difficult to fix up though hopefully. I'll probably end up rendering a version 2 tonight with better textures. And I used Terragen 2 than Photoshop CS5 for post work.

Tilt: Wallpaper
(Click for full) New terragen wallpaper. I'm not 100% satisfied with the surface map on the mountain (I do love the sand though) but I still thought it was good enough to show. edit: I feel like I'll probably redo some of the surface map tonight.

Your dream job?
Being a porn star would just suck. My dream job is working on Game Design with a large game company, although more realistically I'll probably end up doing Web design or something. I kind of hope that I'll start in Web Design and maybe try and move over to do web design for a game company and then sort of work my way into the industry that way. Hell, even just doing a part of game design (like working on level design or the likes) would be really awesome. There actually was a short while where I was really thinking of getting a degree in game design. Doing graphic arts is just sort of a safer bet for me to start with :P.

Im buying a new PC
Sorry but I agree with Joe, that Gateway is not the way to go. The HP computer he posted was a really good choice for the OP. Recommending an i3 for Runescape is just sort of worthless really, he would get a lot more out of a better video card than a slightly better CPU. (due to bottleneck issues and all that). I don't really know how GPU intensive runescape "HD" is these days but I'm almost certain that an onboard Intel HD card is not the proper answer. Also expecting the OP to go through the trouble of getting his own card to put in there (especially because you than have to worry about if the PSU is powerful enough and other issues) really doesn't fit with what he wants. So yeah it doesn't matter if the CPU is better, thats not what the point was.

Call of Duty 7: Black OPs
It jams if you fire too fast. Apparently its some programing put into the game to stop people using modded controllers. Why not set a fire speed cap like normal developers?
