Honestly you won't even notice the anesthesia. I had it when I got my tonsils removed and I pretty much just ended up waking up after it was done and my mouth was a bit sore. You shouldn't have any problems :)

Just started playing CS:S again today because I am that goddamn bored (waiting for WAR). Played a bit with speedofsound, rocked him (killed him with a knife like 5 times) and actually did pretty good. Playing CS:S because it just plays smoother for me than CS 1.6. Honestly 1.6 is really choppy and laggy (connection wise) where as CS:S runs perfect. Meh I like CS:S better anyways ;p.

Tell me about it lol, I'm so used to just kind of doing whatever and not really adhering to strict blueprints or anything.

Thanks. I actually want to do 3D Design in the future (for games, stuff like that) but I just never got around to it. I figure that 3+ years of doing one thing a week should help eh? :D

Well I've finally decided to make myself try and at least finish 1 3D render a week, progressively doing more and more difficult tutorials. I've decided to make this thread just to keep track of everything I'm doing and to show you guys my progress. My only 3D background before this has been some slight use of C4D and Terragen (but that doesn't really count). So it's definitely a lot different than photoshop :P Also I will be sure to try and remember to link a tutorial when it is used so you guys can try it out. I am using 3D Studio Max 2008 currently. 1) Rubix Cube. A very basic, untextured item just to get the basics of the program down. Camera controls, basic functions, ect. 2)Katana Sword UNFINISHED. This was a more advanced tutorial that has taught me quite a bit of techniques, especially involving vectors, lines, texturing (and bitmaps!) plus I messed around with the lighting. The blade isn't finished yet, sadly, just because I can't get it to look good. 3) Monitor Box Modeling. Pretty quick, I'm definitely getting the hang of this now. It's just an untextured, low poly monitor. Taught me the basics of box modeling. Looking at the back looks like I screwed up a little bit on the stand. Not major enough to matter. :P 4)Blood Cells Scene. Just learning how to set up a scene, some other various new controls... but mostly was a bit more of learning about textures. Sadly I don't know enough about lighting yet to get it to look like the guy in the tutorial's last image, but the texture was created from scratch at least. 5) Vray Tutorial. 8/19/08 Learned the basics of Vray rendering here. There really is no modeling here, I used default shapes. 6) Chess Pawn August 25, 2008. Bit more advanced modeling, might end up making an entire chessboard down the road now that I have the pawn. --- That's it so far. I'm completely open to any suggestions on what to do next, good tutorials or just general tips. And yeah, I know, they're probably going to be pretty bad for a bit :P. I'm starting to get a hang of the program though.

Well WoW at the most would probably use 2 of those cores. I have no idea how it is optimized however and how linux really runs on the 360 (as in how well).

What kind of computer do you have? Like, if it's prebuilt what is the machine (like XPS 510 or w/e). Trying to figure out which of those is your actual sound card. Plus maybe you need to update the drivers, just a guess.

Only thing I can really think of is to try and disable the ATI Function Driver for Audio.. seems like it might be conflicting with something. You can always turn it back on if it doesn't work.

Seconding this, system restore to before you installed 2008.

Showing you care for your body certainly sends a different message though.

Tried my hand at smudging your star thing in photoshop. I only have a few questions: - At what part do you think its a good time to smudge? I found that smudging a plain color item just doesn't work and looks horrible. - Any use for any other smudge settings, brushes, ect? Cool mini tutorial, it did explain a bit of what I was interested in. To everyone else I found that if you constantly (but slowly) move the smudged bit back and forth you can add more depth to it and make it look better. I'll def be trying this technique on my next sig :) [edit] Just tried it a bit in a sig and I just can't get the image could to start smudging well. It always ends up looking like crap ;p. [edit 2] Just tried again from scratch... kind of getting the hang of it. I did use brighter colors though so no doubt it turned out a lot different. Still this is all pretty much smudging and a few Clipping masks + brushing... just trying to get the hang of this. I kind of have the smudging idea down, I just need to get the right stuff to smudge ;p Just trying to figure out how to do less cartoony smudging now.

On Lineage II retail I had to deal with a kid in my clan who I think was a son of someone, or something. I don't remember much other than me and my friend subtly making fun of him. I would have ignored him but he was a clan member :S. Anyways on any other ocassions I get an annoying person online (quite rare) I just mute them and continue on. However I rarely play games with the mic on anyways because I just use ventrilo when I need to. Oh and no doubt most of these stories are on xbox live ;D

Onboard sound is directly onto your motherboard, while a sound card would be a separate card (much like your video card) except for sound. Go to the device manager > sound devices and show me a screenshot of what is there. example:

The problem is that most kids I hear swearing still have very little knowledge on basic etiquette, so you'll see them swear at improper times. (around adults, parrents and the like). As far as drinking goes the brain is still developing at a young age. Now, I think that if parents allow children to have a small amount of wine with their dinner, it isn't a problem. They do this in countries such as France a lot and it works out well and teaches the children how to properly use alcohol. The problem is that a 13 year old binge drinking and even a 16/17 year old binge drinking is much different. For one, the 17 year old can probably hold his alcohol better, but also the alcohol will have a more profound effect on the brain for the 13 year old than the 17 year old. At 13 the brain is still developing a lot where as, while it's still developing at 16/17, no doubt it's slowed down a bit. The ages 16/17 are fairly abritary by the way. I don't think that a 16 year old should be binge drinking, but I do think that a 16 year old can handle their alcohol fine if in moderation and under supervision. The point I'm trying to say is that age does matter. Likewise, riku, you can not tell me with a straight face that a 5 year old is as developed as even a 10 year old, or 14 year old or hell 21 year old. A 5 year old just should not be swearing because they still have very little knowledge on etiquette (as I said earlier) where as someone older would know when and when not to swear. Of course the problem with all of this is that a lot of parents are just not enforcing anything these days. When I was little I would have gotten in big trouble if I would have sworn, and it took me a while to get over the idea that it is ok to swear in the correct situation. And, while with my friends I may swear like a sailor when I'm in a situation around my parents or an adult or just an improper time I know to not do it. Either way, Riku, at your age you still think that you can do anything that adults can just because you haven't looked at it objectively. I thought I was smart at 14 and, for all purposes, I got good grades and could read at a higher level (even if I never read). However I was most certainly not mature yet. [edit] and yeah, 3 years can make a HUGE difference. Look at the "first post" thread, for instance. The change between how they type and express themselves is astounding.

rofl was a topic about our greatest idea to get money on runescape. Some of my other early posts are pretty funny, in one of them I was posting a cruddy pixel I made and Nadril pretty much said I will never be a good pixel artist. haha good times :D Heh I'm sure I told a lot of people they suck that are awesome now. Pretty sure I flamed ThruItAll :P . I think I flamed Misterxman too... Oh and I had the same idea in runescape when I started >_< sigh. We couldn't even give away the damn stuff.

Well I meant the thread as a general MMO thread where people could ask questions. It just so happens that there really aren't any good browser based MMOs out there, unless you look to maybe some old text based ones or something.
