Thing is they never "sold out". I've listened to a lot of their songs, and they never just went mainstream. I never hear them on the radio, they aren't "that" mainstream. Well known among metal fans, yes, but that's about it. It's kind of like saying Pink floyd went mainstream. You're implying that you have to sell out to become mainstream. This is not true. And Pink Floyd are mainstream, I don't think you understand the concept of a mainstream band. I'm not talking about being mainstream to the general public i.e. pop bands. They are known among all metal fans, they are mainstream as far as the genre is concerned. Mainstream is like bands people listen to now only because everyone else is listening to them right? I don't see how Iron Maiden fits into there. At least at my school there aren't many people who know or listen to Iron Maiden. Pink Floyd though......a lot of people wear their like T-Shirts after maybe listening to one or two songs which really pises me off.

Since there's been quite a few topics about certain bands, i'll guess i'll start one on one of my all time favorite bands. Discuss Pink Floyd. Myself, i've only own the Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and Animals. I plan on buying Piper at the Gates of Dawn though, i hear its really good. Next time i stop by a cd store i'll probably grab it. I love Roger Water's lyrical work and David Gilmour's excellence on guitar, one of my all time favorite guitarists, and how they had all those like experimental sounds on their instruments and amps to give it that pychedelic effect like i heard they used ball bearings sliding up and down their guitar strings. I never really listened to much when Syd Barrett really lead Pink Floyd, did he only record Piper at the Gates of Dawn with them? Also list your favorite songs by Floyd. Mine are (not in order) Young Lust, Time, Hey You, Money, Us and Them, Brain Damage, the Show Must go On, Comfortably Numb, Waiting for the Worms, Pigs (Three Different Ones) (what is that like screechingish sounding solo around halfway through the song?) Shine on You Crazy Diamond pt. 1/2, Speak to Me/Breathe (this song really does a good job leading into DSotM with the heart beating and all the sounds you hear throughout the album), Have a Cigar, Welcome to the Machines, Wish You Were Here. Also I wanted to see one of their live concerts, so i bought Live in Pompeii. It isn't a live dvd, like i watched Echoes and Brain Damage on it then turned if off since i had to finish something, probably finish it over the weekend, but is just like videos of just them performing? And is the Wall dvd worth watching? I watched the Who's Tommy and absolutely hated it, loved the music, but the movie was terrible imo. Discuss please.

yeah he was oin like miek but he was only about 9 at the time he is 19 now Like Mike was made in 2002, i dunno how "Lil Bow Wow" grew 10 years in 4. i think he was like 14 or something in that movie, now he's around 18 or so.

You probably just have like "We are the Champions" and "We Will Rock you" by Queen and none of their other work. I really really don't think you have "along that line" of bands if you listed "50 Cent" and "Fall Out Boy" before any of them.

The plot doesn't seem that original, so far what i've seen. Some kind of disease/bug thing gets in, infects people, people are trapped in a certain area, have to fight their way out, etc. But i like those movies. but i'll probably go see it. I thought it was a love story first on the commercial, then the farmer guy got bit and turned weird looking. Then there's Brenda...... Really i only want to see this movie because of her. You can also download her onto your computer and feed her dead meat. Me and my friends will probably try and get in this weekend. I'll probably try that sit on their shoulders and wear a trenchcoat thing. Always works.

I jsut saw that a few weeks ago too. One of my favorite movies now. Really any movie with DeNiro and Pesci in it, I like. Right now i'm in the middle of watching Heat. (i watch like parts of movies like every other day, end up finishing a movie usually in a week =P) So far so good.

Hmm. Live in Japan is a really, really great recording. You should really get it. Worth every cent. i agree, one of the best live cds i've listened too.

I care I don't know, I don't keep a record. People just tend to like mainstream garbage bands around here, I guess How is Iron Maiden mainstream? I haven't seen that much of society just liking Iron Maiden all the sudden and everyone just liking them because everyone else does. Not like Greenday and friends. btw, maybe its your opinion, but how are they a terrible band? they have one of the best guitar duets, one of the greatest vocalists, a great drummer and Steve Harris is pretty dam good at bass.

We can always just go online and search for tabs. faster just to go to ultimate-guitar, mxtabs, etc.

Though i do like some of Di'Anno's work with Maiden. [bleep]inson was more part of getting Iron Maiden as poplular as they are. [bleep]inson is one of the best vocalists out there. Maiden is in my top 5 favorite bands.
