  1. nice guide I don't know whether this have been posted before, but you really need to aware this You need NORMAL rune ess for runecrafting (i.e. impure ones) in f2p and need space for norm essence In member world, you and me uses pure ones (even for elemental runes). In f2p, you can only use impure ones, which needs a space to store So, get urself some before you get into trouble
  2. people argue that randoms are randoms. But I strongly disagree. It is triggered when you're suspected to be a macroer (determine by some unknown mechanisms in the game OR someone reports you) imagine why a yew autoers faces a bunch of random instead of a person who changes what he does frequenly (say the first minute wc, second minute combat) If you desperately need random, go to Edgeville, get a bunch of nature runes, and a pile of noted platebodies. lvl55 mage is recommanded, yet you can do it at lvl21 mage. Don't forget to equip a fire staff as well. Now, start alching, alching. I can almost guarantee, within an hour, you will be happily doing randoms which you have never played with before! :D
  3. I just went to West Varrock/Edgeville bank and what I see surprised me a lot In a minute, more than 5 people are teleported away by randoms. Some evil bob, some mysterious old man and so. Especially those high alcheming trainers are teleported away more often When I mine rune ess, I meet teleport matrix more often (then before) I got 2 evil chickens and nearly got my killed when powermining iron I even got randoms in deep wildy (lvl35), and other dangerous places I know that Jagex do this in a good deed, but it just creates troubles for legitmate players I try to reduce number of randoms by avoiding repeating jobs and changing what I do every 45 minutes (sometimes hard, imagining powermining Quartz/sandstone. You want to stay forever there as that place is remote) (I am f2p, not p2p)
  4. Sorry... I think no monsters drop laws often and in large quantity (>5) Laws are also considered as rare drops and ur chance of getting law from mossies (which I'm currently training on) is similiar to the chance u get a uncut from them. You can try training on nature droppers (like mossies) as they usually drop laws as well (not sure for all of them, check tip.it to confirm ur choice) If ur f2p, save up some law and don't sell them! The guys who sell laws in bulk are members! not f2p If you desperately need law, (1) Buy them for 500ea in West Varrock bank (2) Go to Ape Troll / MTA or wherever to buy them for about 320ea (3) uh, I don't know
  5. Okay, let me tell you, you can own the dragon NOW!!! What you need is full addy (use dragon fire shield) Bring a full inventry of lobsters (you may go Port Sarim and sail to Kajamia, and ask the fishers to sell them (remember, u need COOKED ones, raw one won't do any good) to you at a low price like 50ea, or go general store and buy it urself in a busy world) Cakes are NOT recommanded as they heal to small in a bite. The dragon can hit 6 or 8 often even you get that silly shield from Duke! (I've just finished it and the horror is still in my mind...) Bring teleport runes once u hit lvl25 mage. Esp. recommanded if ur member and can get access to tablets All right. If you need to warm up urself before going to the real boss, go Kajamia vocano and pick up several lessers and play with them. Make sure an full inv. of food can last for 5 or 6 killings. If so, you can move on. If not, you may need further training before getting to Elvary's living room... I did that and get the feeling of being hit high and learnt the stragety of beating huge foes p.s. you should spot that lesser is weak despite of its combat level of 82, so I recommand you try to kill 5 or 6 with a full inv. of food instead of killing 2 or 3. Just for safety!
  6. If I were u, I'd grab another 256Mb / 512Mb of DDR ram and stick to it for another couple of year before dismissing it But it's still your choice, because computer of this age often face many problems, and the one that ur going to suffer from is most likely motherboard / Power supply problems. Should u face motherboard problems, ur PC will be instantly down and u need to renew it (I DON'T recommand second hand motherboards) When the end of service life of power supply is approaching, you need to replace it or ur PC will not boot at all or cause system instability. Problems of PC also causes problem of hardware, like what we say, 'you are what you eat', 'hardwares are also what they uses'! So, if you can get access to cheap RAMs, upgrade it, if not, trash it and get a brand new one p.s. 1) componments in old computer like CD drives and floppy drives can be used in a new PC if u decide to DIY and build up ur customized PC 2) PC = personal computer but NOT Pest Control (lol)
  7. You may be true, but Jagex can change the site name / interfaces and urls regularly to deter such ways to unveal their traps Rumors won't do lots of goods because as everyone knows, RWT is unreliable. Even you buy from those 'genuine' suppliers, you may still get banned! There are also other posts in the forum concerning someone bought RS gold and get banned, yet the gold farmer website says that its 100% safe! Remember, rumors are unreliable in nature, so others will not be very serious when talking about these stuffs. Without evidence, they cannot prove anything, except making a wild guess! I've already added the countermeasures for drop trading (as that's NOT the purpose of this post, I won't venture too deep in that particular part)
  8. Seems that the best method is to setup lots of fake (perferably more than 500) gp sellers. When someone tries to take part in a shameful trade, a banning will occur. They may even delay the bannings (for example, after a couple of days after the transaction) to make the banning looks more reasonable, and buyers won't be able to figure out the camouflaged trapping sites easily. :D The major problem is that cheaters cannot distinguish the 'validity' of the selling sites, as there is no 'trusted' middleman or brokers. What we can do is to fully exploit their weakness. If Jagex suceed, chaos (of uncertainity) will be wide spread between those who buy golds, and sure, the quantity demands falls and the RWT problem vanishes in months, or even weeks! People dare not try RWT again, for the fear of bannings. What the cost burden beared by Jagex is the 'maintance' cost of these websites, which is relatively low - I can guarantee the cost is below $15000 for all of them (take 500 as an example) once a mature system is established. Some may try to circumvent the system by employing multiple 'disposable' accounts and use many drop trades. But our drop trade system is mature, and sure, Jagex have ways to check that out (for example: do dropping and picking up accounts have same/close ip? or a proxy is used? or they occur at close times at same position with similiar amount of golds transferred?, etc.) We ban many drop traders daily, and thus the system is reliable and well developed Being in the dark and hunting bad guys down is the major role of sniper. Not only casuality is inflicted but the fear is also spread wide and deep. If Jagex is willing to be a sniper, tracing down dishonest players by his telescropic sight, and the problem is solved.
  9. What I'll say is that the high stakers and pkers causes a major part of problem - I don't want to flame, but I'm afraid that this is a truth High stakers takes millions and even rares like phats to stake, while pkers take expensive supplies to wildy and bears a high risk of lossing them. When there's a battle, one will win and sure one will loss The winner is happy as one will predict. But how about the loser? He've just lost millions of gps. To get it back, one may have to work for ages. Lazy as some of the losers are, they perfer the shortcut - buy runescape gp for real world cash What I'd say, is the people are getting crazy in their skates. They even put rares into risk and they know that that's unbearable for them to lose them! What they're doing is actually some sort of betting, really they're betting! To combat the problem, one must reduce the demand for these golds. This makes the cost of both buying gold and selling gold too high for one to bear. Only by controlling the high staker problem, the problem can be solved. Remember, Duel Arena is for fun, not for betting!
  10. Beaware! They want to kill you :pray: They may use either of these tactices (1) Use teleother spells to distract you during combat :evil: When they cast a spell to you, it pops up a huge screen to ask you to comfirm / deny. If you deny, they cast it again and again, preventing you from seeing hitpoint damage / poison / randoms / prayer points (2) They may wish to tele you to high wildy (lvl 50 ice plateau). That's the ONLY existing spell for a mage to teleother someone to wildy :shame: Once you reach there, you will be killed. there is NO way for you to teleport out from there. Once you get there, you will be entangled or freezed and prompted slaghtered by the (censored) or his accompanices. They may want to heal you, but that's extremely unlikely. Why they have to do this for you? Do yourself a favour. Deny all these stuffs and keep accept-aids off. \ If you want to infect yourself with AIDS and die, go on. But I'm sure you'll regret. (lol) =;
  11. As everyone knows, pures dominate a huge part of wildy and their advantage is mainly due to their exploit in combat system. They intendionally skip some combat skills like prayer and hopes to gain an edge while fighting others Some people argues that this is fair as they abide to all the game rules. Others find them annoying and don't allow a regular player stand a chance in front of them Should we change our combat system to make it more fair? My suggestion Take attack, defence, strength, ranged, magic, and prayer as combat skills. Assume that the levels of them for a player is A, D, S, R, M, P respectively Combat = 1.5*(the best four within A, D, S, R, M, P) + (S.D. of these six skills) p.s. S.D. = standard derivation = a measure to check the difference between the skills. If the difference is large (because of a pure), then the value of S.D. will also be greater
  12. There may be some forgotten character, but most likely, the password and recovery question sets are gone and there's no way to relieve these phats
  13. I believe that they will extinct, or Jagex will deal with them somehow later Phat is originally a fixed supplied good at this moment (as they are only distributed that day) However, some guys perfer keeping his phat instead of selling them (who knows) When trading occurs between players, there is always a chance the buyer will keep it and NEVER sell it again Futhermore, bannings, quitting Runescape (some guys hate giving away items as they feel that the receivers are 'tearing' his character apart), and some unknown bugs in the Runescape system constantly decrease the supply of phats. The supply of phat is thus decreasing, though originally fixed. That means that phats price will either shoot high OR reach infinity as nobody sells them At that moment, Jagex may NOT do something like turning phats untradeable. Through unlikely at this moment, yet it's always possible in future They may also allow players to sell phats for a sum of cash OR keep it as a symbol of richness, and total eliminate this historical problem (some new players work like a dog just to gather cash needed for a phat)
  14. Unfortunately, I agree with this idea The high amount of gp introduced may cause a inflation, just like a country which prints banknotes continuously without any control on them. The price of items will rise in long run, and newbies will find it difficult to play Just like the amount of abyssal whips is increasing and the price of them should DROP in long run, keeping demand constant (through not likely to occur) That's a fact. What we should do is to control it by addition of services like the recharging service of crystal bows. This is a way that money leaves runescape. Perhaps by this, the money will getting stabilized, and hyperinflation will not occur
  15. I absolutely disagree (yeah, I'm f2p & sure I'll say no) Because (1) Who helps you to gather materials if f2p turns to a demo or even cease to exist? Do p2p helps you to gather 10k feather and sells you for 65k? NO! Should f2p become a demo, steel bars supply will be hugely affected, and cannonball will become a awful business. Futhermore, who do p2p sell their rune armor to? silly, of course f2p members. Again, economy will be servely affected if f2p turns to be a trial (2) If so, the advertisement cost definitely pops up. What makes Runescape a valuable game is due to its f2p gameplay. Without that, oh, the number of registered players must fall like a stone (at least a 50% loss) (3) Outrage will definitely happen if Jagex even turn f2p to trial version. f2p players have tasted the sweetness of high level and enjoyed the game. If we take away that, oh no, runescape may even collapse, and the opposition sound will be much greater than the SS ban in January or the legalization of luring in March.
  16. If I had lvl65 defence with lvl75 combat, sure, I'd have brought nothing except a rune pick there. But wait, I'm sure that some of our friends need better protection. (see requirment section) Maybe I add this as a remainder/hint
  17. Blossom's Ultimate F2P Coal Guide If you read, please post a reply so that I can improve! Thanks in advance! Table of Contents: (1) Why I should read this guide (2) Which is the best place to mine coal? (3) Stragety and Survival (4) Closing Words (5) Questions and answer Section Min. Requirments: 40 combat (23 defence is a must) 30 mining (silly) Recommanded requirments: 50 combat (35 defence) 45 mining Completed Dragon Slayer lvl43 prayer is optional p.s. If you get over 65defence, get nothing but a rune pick there. (juicce) (1) Why I should read this guide Mining coal is very, very hard. This is because coal is relatively rare in f2p, and competition is huge. Even if you are in mining guild, you may have trouble getting coals that you urgently need as higher level miners occuply the whole area. This guide will reveal another good place to mine coal - Skeleton mine with 34 coal rocks. Really, 34 coal rocks (not typing mistake) (2) Which is the best place to mine coal? Perhaps some higher level people have heard of this place and argue that this is the worst place to mine coal. They will say Chasm mine and Drawven mine is much better. Why? Because their combat is high, so as their mining lvl as well. With this, they can dominate all the rocks in that mine, and causes no problem for them to mine. However, for most of us, mining efficiently under large competition is hard. Some people subscribed to member solely due to the ease of getting coal in p2p world. But wait, I'll tell how to mine coal well in f2p. (3) Stragety and Survival The skeleton mine is in lvl9 wildy, single combat area. Most people will start moraning when they hear the world Wildy. Right, wildy is dangerous, yet we can use our tactices to maximumize our edge - close to Edgeville and absence of people. What you should bring is Rune full helm, rune kite, rune pick and full green d'hide set for f2p. Someone may ask,"You're putting 100k of armor at stake for several lumps of coal? no way!". Wait, if we fully know how to avoid risk it, that the risk is neglectable is clearly shown. What's the functions of different items? Rune armor - silly. lvl22 skeletons will constantly attack you while you mine Green d-armor - provide decent mage defend bonus NO food needed. You need space for coals, not fishes If you don't have rune armor or d'hide, you may replace it by full mithril/addy (don't use plateleg, use studded chap to increase mage def bonus) However, you will be hit more by those agressive skeletons That should look like this For the most important part, how to evade pkers. Run south east. Remeber that's single combat area. He cannot attack you while skeletons / scropions are attacking you. When you see someone attacking your cover (the skeleton which is attacking you) OR have a skull, run for Edgeville and change worlds You don't need teleport runes in this level of wildy- trust me, 100% unnecessary Bind spells should fail, due to large def bonus of green d-hides "bleep bleep Pker inbound. Ready to intercept" (my combat is 53 at that time) law runes are not necessary, however, they are carried as a safety precaution (I take these screens at a busy world) Evading routes: When facing pkers slaghtering in front of you, change world or you risk your items (I took this in world 32) (4) Closing Words That mining coal in f2p is tough, but fortunately, we have a great place - skeleton mine. Come here and enjoy mining coal! Hint: you may use monks in monastery to heal yourself remember to do this in F2P world. P2P worlds are too hazardous Remember to turn on 'protect from xxx' and protect item prayer when attacked by player (if avaliable) Thank you for tip-it to let me use the lovely wildy map Common Q&A: (1) Why don't u powermine iron? simple, safe and quick! I strongly agree that powermine iron is a good method. However, if one wants to train smithing via smithing steel and make weapons/armor as well, this coal guide will definitely help p.s. distance of Chasm mine from bank in appoximately equal the distance between skeleton mine and Edgey bank Update history -increased content -uploaded photos -first version
  18. u can do it, however, I have no exp at fighting such a dragon I suggest you try iron/steel dragon. Their drop are much more decent, and I'm sure you gonna love that
  19. Drop trading between your characteres IS AGAINST the rules. Don't try it out! I don't recommand you going there. Or you have a death wish or want to be teleported to Lumby instantly Most clan wars happen there, and the respawn time is deadly slow. Just buy or kill dark wizards to get some natures if you really need that For p2p, you don't have any reason of obtaining them via this dangerous and slow way. Just DIY or buy it from other players. Remember, deadly clan wars in p2p happens near demonic ruins, and 4 demons (2lessor 2 greater) is only steps from you. p2p have entangle, TB, ice barrage, and so on, making that EXTREMELY unwise to go there Confirm: 2 respawns there. Each respawn contains 2 nat runes
  20. Don't agree :( It just make trading coward while bringing little benefit for example, if i want to buy an abyssal whip, I have to say "By abyssal whip 1.8k str>=82" That makes those who don't use autotype in trouble Also, our ecomony is simple 'cause the goods provided are homegeneous (i.e. same from the view of customers) This attack, I'm afraid to say, makes the ecomomy complicated should we make the hp healed by sharks a variable between 16~24, and bad shark yields a poison effect and reduce the hp of eater by 5? If we implant this update, many other updates like this have to be added. This simply ruins the economy :( So, my idea is, stay away from this
  21. haha, seems Jagex invented a robot to kick those with bad names, including deceptive names with spaces away. But when can Jagex invent a super robot to kick macroers away? :D lol
  22. NEVER, NEVER, REALLY, DON"T They are just a waste of money, and I highly doubt whether the tips are original or copied from some froums and player made guides. My friend got one, and says that that's a complete trash. Ideas are not concrete and very common that everyone knows. Anyway, don't buy it - except you have tons of cash to burn!
  23. AAh! I forgot that :!: That's something around 55 and 60 for trout and salmon respectively. =D> For my lvl (62), I burn nothing when I try to cook salmon and trout :D Anyway, level up to about 55 and you will burn close to nothing That's not hard. You just need to fish, cook and sell in Edgeville when fishing in Barbarian Village. Do it for 3 or 4 hours and I can guarantee that you reaches highscore and burn nothing!
  24. I love this idea - total support For the drops (1) Similiar to lesser should be okay (2) Big bones Level: 2 varients perhaps (1) lvl55 green dragon (2) lvl80 green dragon (like Elvarg) Where to place the dragons??? wildy somewhere south of red dragon isle (that make sense) it will become a new pking spot :)))) kajamia volcano
  25. Sorry, but I don't support this idea You may think that macroers exploited them, but if we remove them, they simply turn to other items like rune ess, or runes in rune shops, or fishes. We should stop macroers by NOT joining Real life trading, not removing everything in f2p :shame:
