Time for a new laptop. [BROUGHT ONE] Click to see which...
If you have a 500 pound budget, I suggest you split it into 2 parts. Don't buy Acer, their service stinks after they get the money. One is for an ordinary desktop which can satisfy your 2GB RAM, and a 160GB harddrive need. You will be using it at home to prepare for your project and powerpoints, as well as some gaming and entertainment. You can meet your specification easily by spending less than 200 pounds, assuming that you keep your monitor One is for an subnotebook, like EEE PC, which can be bought with about 200 pound for mobility. For this notebook, as you bring it everywhere for powerpoint presentation or preparations ONLY, the requirment will not be that high, so it can be fulfilled by the relatively inferior hardware of EEEPC. Most importantly, EEEPC is LIGHT, it only weighs about 1kg, which is half of an ordinary notebook and about 40% of your chosen Acer notebooks (note that you will be bringing it everywhere! Don't just focus on its specification - well, it may look nice, but you won't be happy when you have to bring a notebook weighting nearly 3kg everyday!) You can check out more about EEEPC at their official site http://eeepc.asus.com/global/ Hope my suggestion works!

Laptops :D
Well, your PC is decent, :thumbsup: , I think it will work well for you 3GB RAM is better than 2GB, and 4GB RAM is better than 3GB, that's what my experience is It's just a bit weird to have 3GB RAM, since it is usually a multiple of 2 (in general, these people are those who have 1GB RAM in their notebook, but finds it insufficient to run Vista smoothly, so buy another 2GB RAM and upgrade it to 3GB. The addition RAM may also be a gift for purchasing the notebook, and this is exactly for my case)

Power supply "blew up"
Power supply exploding isn't something new, and it has something to do with the quality of the power supply itself Usually, the worst power supply explodes, like those with brand name GT? (censored), or those that come together with your case. I suggest buying a better power supply (or just use the old one) like Antec. In general, the quality of power supply can be found by dividing its output (in watt) by the price. If you get more than 10 Watt output by USD$1, it is a sign for a bad power supply. I bought my 450W Antec power supply with about HKD$500, that's about 64 US dollars and 7 Watt for USD$1 Bad power supply will show you a firework and give you complete surprise. They will also increase the rate of wearing out of components inside the computer, so be aware!

f2p training spot
I train on giant spiders Flesh crawlers and zombies may be your second choice - you choose :) No mossies - there are only 3 in Crandor = heavy competition. Presence of rocks = safe spots of rangers Wilderness spot = reverants = poison (not sure whether it poisons in f2p) + tb + entangle + hit high = bye Similiarly, ice giants in wildy = cya. ice giants in ice cave (that one with skeletal wyvern) = competition again as there are safe spots Crandor / vocando = filled with noobs using safe spots = BYE

Best ranged spot f2p(lvl 68-75)
Carndor is a great place to train My bro, took another approach. He merchanted (before the freaky GX was released) and got like 2Mil, bought about 130k bronze arrows in 5ea after GX update, and shoot spiders in SOS This gotta be quick if you don't try to get back arrows. Like 20k an hour, a bit smaller when compared to the melee training speed due to a smaller hit (that is usually inflicted by range)

Benazir Bhutto killed by Suicide Bomb
Well, that's pathetic and coward to kill such a national leader (in Pakistan) in such an assassination way. Yet, this is a smart move by the terrorist in my eyes. :?: Clearly, this is a WELL - SET plot employed by al-Queda / Taliban / Bin Laden (if he is still alive). That after the call of emergency state by the president, the world opinion turned against the Musharraf government, a loyal USA leader. To catalyze the collapse of Musharraf government, the terrorist group assassinate the beloved leader and democracy supporter, in order to wreck havoc =; to Pakistan government which is currently in pivotal state and lack of public support -.- As a result of assassination, people will blame Musharraf for being the mastermind of such a plot, by either involving in the planning of assassination, or not providing adequate protections to Benazir Bhutto. :| The successful move of these terrorist group in turning Musharraf into a scapegoat :shame: helps causing chaos in Pakistan and possibly starts a civil war, while the real person behind the whole event leave untouched. :evil: When the state of Pakistan is in chaos, well, the terrorist group can take control of it and turn the table - switching pro-American Pakistan into an anti-American base :uhh: . Not only turning the table but they can also eliminate Musharraf government, reducing the American influence in Middle East and deal a huge bow to the USA soldiers. :ohnoes: Killing 2 birds with a stone is ALWAYS a wise move. edit - typo (anti-Pakistan => anti-American) in Paragraph 4

Whey, GCSE's.
GCSE... none of my business =D> The one that bother me is HKCE (Hong Kong Certificate Examination), a examination which closely resembles GCSE, taken by student in the age of 16 BUT quantitatively harder, requiring much more factual memorization and daily, exercise as some of the questions asked can be solved with ease if I know some key steps or tricks, but cannot be solved if any knowledge on the gimmicks are absent,i.e. daily exercise is vital :cry: I'm going to sit for that exam in April 08. Yet, I still havn't started my revision plan yet. perhaps I should start my revision stuff soon. I guess I will get a 4 or 5 in Chinese, 5* in English, and A for most subjects that I take (physics, chemistry, maths, additional mathematics, biology and economics) (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HKCEE if you wanna know more) DON'T say that I'm showing off! THIS IS ACQUIRED BY THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF GRINDING! I hate grinding and I'm relatively impatient, thus my mining lvl is relatively low. :evil: The same goes for my studies - I wouldn't grind so much in order to gain these results if I were given such a chance! In real life, I don't have a autotyper or SCAR to aid me! I must do tons of exercise in order to learn the key steps or tricks in every questions. (Don't ask me what is SCAR. if you know, then you know. If you don't know, google is your friend. Please don't ask me) -.- Unfortunately, my parents and my school forced me in doing so. Parents do this for my future, school do this in order to gain a better reputation among parents and of course, pleasing education bureau guys :shame: . Good luck with all the GCSE guys. I can sense how you feel and I can experience how much pressure are exerted on you at this moment. Hope all of you obtain a score... WITH FLYING COLOURS FTW! :mrgreen:

Rares? What will happen?
they will still go up in price, I believe, in a slow rate However, the age of merchanting via party hats will be gone, and what is left is the player who sell their party hat for cash and other players purchasing theirs for showing off... The merchants are gone, yet the buyers and sellers remains intact. So, the economy will still exist. (buyer <=> merchant <=> seller) <--- in the past (buyer <=> seller) <--- now

~~~How will/has the 138 CB cap affect/ed the game?~~~ =~)
Poison spider = lvl 64 so... LVL 138 GUYS ARE IMMUNE TO THOSE PESKY SPIDERS! or jagex may make spiders aggressive to everyone... similar to leeches maybe (lvl53)
Account Age and Privileges (Possible Trade Embargo Solution)
Awesome idea on the whole. YET Jagex will not adopt this. The Dec 10 Update = elimination of over 90% bots (compare: in my city, when I get to RS homepage at 6pm, there used to be 100k player. Now, it is more like 40k. Most woodcut macroers are gone. Legitimate player (incl. me) is able to get some reward from WC) What does it mean? It means that the RWT problem is solved, and sweetshop goldfarmers now move on to another game that can be macroed instead of Runescape. This save quite a lot of manpower in Jagex HQ. Maybe they can employ less guys / focus on other perspectives of the game. SO, I'M AFRAID THAT THEY WILL JUST COMPLETELY ABOLISH THE OLD WILD, OLD STAKING SYSTEM AND SO ON, REPLACING IT WITH MANPOWER SAVING ONES
Duel arena suggestion - pleasing both parties
You're right... Jagex's only aim is to remove those innocent "stakers"... Perhaps Andrew and Gower is jealous concerning this light's speed in making $$ LOL :D
Tip.it Times Presents: Change!
You read my mind! :shock: Ya. Some pessimistic guys may say that "Economy gonna crash" or "8-year old boys gonna ruin Ruinscape". De facto, I, myself is sometime quite pessimistic. Yet, this article reminds me whether I am optimistic or pessimistic, changes happen. The status quo cannot be maintained forever. Great article. A meaningful, well written one :)
Has Jagex lied to us?
That type of banning is called hardware signature banning (or something similar) :D Most gaming system like Battlefield uses PunkBuster or similar anti-cheating systems, which have a blacklist of serial number of Harddisk, motherboard, CPU,.... when they detect a user trying to access the game via a computer with a component with a blacklisted serial, he will be denied. This definitely works, that's why Battlefield cheats is non-existent in official servers (excl. Private servers) This system is immune from system reinstalls, or proxies, or whatever dirty tricks, as the serial is EMBEDDED into the hardware itself The only weakness comes from the anti-cheat software itself... However, if that software is almost perfect, that should not be a problem Yet, I don't think PunkBuster supports Java games...
Duel arena suggestion - pleasing both parties
To complicate the transfering process, another feature may be added After 5 consecutive duel to a single player, you can't challenge him (and he can't challenge you) again for the next 24 hours, i.e. you can only win the same person 5 times within a 24 hour period =; A message "You feels that (insert name here) is invulnerable to your attacks, you decide to stop challenging him in the fear of losing any more duels" for the loser :( "You feels that the opponent doesn't poses any challenge to you. You decide to fight another person instead" for the winner :o This hinders the possibility for macroer to duel multiple times and loses multiple times to the buyer. The sweetshop may again, use multiple accounts to transfer all the golds. BUT AGAIN - it makes more macroing account vulnerable to Jagex investigation, and banning BTW, this can also prevents gambling and chasing lost items in the previous stakings see http://www.truthscape.com/html/ts_GamblingAddiction.htm
Duel arena suggestion - pleasing both parties
Thanks for supporting me (my idea at 12th post. PLZ check it in advance so that you know what's going on.) Now, I include some calculations Let say, the macroing account is lvl5 and the gold buyer is lvl60. The sweetshop also have a boss of lvl80 By my formula ========== (opp. cb lvl)/(your cb lvl) = (opp. stake)/(your stake) opp. cb lvl / your cb lvl = 60 / 5 = 12 So, you must stake 12 times of the opponent's stake. If you buy 1Mil, you must stake 12 Mil. However, those who buy these golds usually don't have that much $$. (that's why they buy $$) However, 1-time transaction is still possible. That's why my formula, I must admit, it way too simple. Let's have a look at the another proposed formula - it is MUCH better than mine... :cry: By another formula suggested by will_holmes ============================= According to this formula, it takes 40 duels to transfer all the golds (2.5% at a time) Clearly, this is EXTREME suspicious to lose 40 times. A task force, will be sent =; If they use the boss, of course, this is more efficient, transfering 30% at a time, 4 times will finish the job. However, the drop trade.... yes, DANGEROUS and very easy to track :lol: The problem of employing a boss ===================== Losing in wildy? NO! impossible :shame: . Wildy has 56 lvls only! the lvl difference between boss and macroer accounts = 75 >>> max lvl of wildy. If they make it like losing to a lvl40 at the first time and the lvl40 losing to a lvl80 "pjer" at the same time, yes, it works. BUT lvl40 wildy is involved. Sooner or later, there will be clans roaming around in wildy, searching for these rule breakers, as the profit after killing them (at least 1Mil) is high. ESP in f2p worlds where these trades is likely to take place. p2p worlds is impossible for them - A clan consisting of a ice barrager and teleblocker will spell doom to that million gp. More loses = more hidden relationship shown = easy for Jagex to ban all of them. BTW, it takes days for a lvl3 account to evolve to lvl80. the cost is simply too high should one is lost!
Duel arena suggestion - pleasing both parties
To solve the RWT problem, why don't we implement another feature? Let say, the god Gritux wanna balance all the stakes so that the game is fair for every guy Let say, (opp. cb lvl)/(your cb lvl) = (opp. stake)/(your stake) (this is a simplified version. Of course, I don't wanna make it like this. It is simply too simple) Since most macroers are below lvl10, they find it HARD for them to transfer $$ to the cheater. What they need is to deliberately lose multiple times to the gold buyer. But "multiple losing" is easy to track. Just similar to the existing random system - if you constantly alch yew longs, sooner or later, a random will pop up. Similarly, if a gold farmer constantly loses to a buyer, both of them will be flagged by the system, and a special task force is gonna investigate whether they're bleached the rules. (similar to "report abuse" feature) Someone may say, macroer CAN have a high lvl manager or boss - what they need to do is to transfer these items to the boss, and let the boss finish the job. But again, how do the macroing accounts transfer the items to the boss? drop trade? lost deliberately in Wildy (very unlikely as it's deadly risky - esp in member world since high wildy is involved )? these actions are easily traceable, and it also shows relationship between different accounts in a sweetshop. So again, employing a high lvl boss to transfer item is UNLIKELY
Chinese Trojan on Maxtor HDD hunts online games pass
I'm a Chinese as well (I dare not disclose my identity elsewhere as you some of you guys may be brainwashed by the medias, and pointing your fingers at me, blaming me for producing all sorts of toxic stuffs, blah blah blah...) living in Hong Kong. Thus, I'm free from both Communist & Western propagandas. ni hao, wo men de zhon guo tong zhi (sorry my mandarin isn't that proficient...) You may say hackers, Trojans, and others viruses are rampant in China. But wait, why don't you take a look at the picture below before you start your argument When I type the word "software cracking" to the yahoo engine, there are 52 Million result entities, in which, I believe, at least 30%, i.e. 15.6Mil are related to software cracks (Others maybe academic/research papers done on this field) There are only 1 million entities when searched in the Chinese Yahoo! Comparing these two figures, it is crystal clear that Western software cracking problem, OR HACKER PROBLEM on the whole, is much more serious when compared to the Chinese problem.
My Random Event Idea...
Nice idea! The most constructive proposed random event that I've ever seen. The only problem, I regret to say, is that bots are usually programmed to run once their health reaches half or two fifth. This means that they can evade from this rain if they put such a script into their little dirty program But, yes, this may bring a sharp change in the game. Especially to normal players. Beforehand, they curse randoms for giving out junk items. Now, they may love them as they can get loots from dead outlaws (macros)
[FORUM] shockwave2_0_1.exe
it's only 90% correct. We do have virus on linux. However, they are much less severe as linux is not a common operation system used at home. They are most likely employed by servers. However, as servers uses them, some hackers create virus to attack them, revealing the hidden datas within (like password or account details) So, using linux IS NOT invulnerable. It only means that you are less likely to be affected. A virus scanner and firewall is still necessary.
Which skill i can get 99 with 35m?
First, get a less common one. Ranging will be nice (within this month. Soon, there will be many 99 ranging cape owners). Bone bots ftw! Get 1 million of them before Jagex modifies the price! Later, if I've extra money, fletching, cooking, and so on will give you the key to trimmed capes Good luck!
Mining help - lvl 63
WOW your reply is that quick - less than 5 minutes and 2 replys are waiting for me! no! the third is here when I'm preparing this reply! Okay. In short - gold for $$ coal for time I wanna raise another question as well (sorry for disturbing you) Should I get 70 mining, which should be employed to gain the maximum amount of cash (my focus will no longer on time when I get to this level) (1) Mining addy in Hobglobin mine, Wildy lvl30 (1200ea) (2) Mining coal (150ea) At this moment, I only sell ores... as my smithing level, you know... #-o Thanks AGAIN in ADVANCE
