  1. Lots and lots of fishing. A couple of buds and I have been doing a lot of fishing lately, and even though in a month we've caught a single fish between the three of us (last Friday, actually) it's a lot of fun and it never gets old. That, and I'ma try and find a job. Probably won't be able to, though. Maybe,
  2. Wow! What a breaking story! Maybe you'll finally make senior editor and get that desk job you've always wanted! It is kinda funny, though.

What? I...just...what? How does that work?

Maybe something on the Vietnam War? That could be something. American reaction to it during and after and all of that... Just a thought. You should definitely do it on how 'Nam was a complete Charlie Foxtrot due to the political motivations behind troop deployments and whatnot. That war could have been so much easier. You could tie it into Obama's directive that threats must be called in and verified before any shooting occurs due to political ramifications. Or how during the Cold War, the Joint Chiefs of Staff or military advisors or someone made an agreement to essentially remove the "button" from the President, refusing an order to launch nuclear missiles unless they had "a damned good reason". You'll have to find that yourself, though, I forget where I read about it. Politicians shouldn't be in the military. Military leaders should be in the military. That is your thesis.
  5. says the guy with ~22k posts. How many people can top that? That's...that's the point. I also just realized it kind of does, because I immediately look to my left to see if you were a noobie, though looking more at join date than the posts. My own used to matter. I liked to see the ranks go up. Once you get to Dragon Slayer, though, you're there for a long time, so I've really stopped caring.

    Synesthesia

I think he means perceiving red when it's hot, and blue when it's cold. If it happens to be those two particular colors, then that makes it very interesting, because there's no reason for the brain to inherently associate those two colors with those two temperatures (it's not even the way it works in nature, the hottest stars are blue). That would mean that the association between color and temperature is learned, not intrinsic. inb4 this is a useless post because those aren't the right colors or visuals I actually see cold as whitish/clear. But yea, heat is red. Fun thing dsavi mentioned about hurting yourself; different types of pain look different (seems kind of obvious, but it's neat). Burns are reddish, stinging is clearer and sharp-looking, and muscle pain (like from being punched in the arm) is rounded. The eyelid thing is supposed to be blood vessels or something, isn't it? Or hallucnations. Meaning ya'll are wack. Not wiggidy wack, just regular type. But whack all the same. I recommend big purple pills. Edit: trying to answer Harrinator: 2D, color varies based on the sound, (a really high note is usually white, though). Most of the color is set up by the song itself. What I mostly see is not really shapes, but abstract waves and textures. A clean sound has an oftentimes more thin, tubular, and hollow shape whereas a distorted, "warm" sound is really wide and fuzzy looking. So not even polygons at all, really. I've always wanted to draw it, but the thing is that 1, I'm a really bad arrist and couldn't if I tried, and 2, they move. Here's a little example: Skip to about 6:25. The wahed parts of that solo, and the sliding part (this whole solo is perhaps my visually favorite piece of music) move around a lot. The wah especially, and not just up and down, but into itself and outwards sideways. I myself certaintly couldn't draw that. An animation could, though, if I could do flash or something. I will say this: that really haunting slidy part is really unique to see, think of 3 long, blue pipes connected in parallel sloping downwards or upwads, depending on if it's going higher or lower. That kind of gives you some insight into it, I hope. Edit: Oh hold on I have a better way. That section almost looks like stucco. Except for that particular piece, orange. And moving.
  7. When I'm playing chess and someone else tells the other guy the one move that neither myself nor my opponent saw that effectively turns the tide of the game and makes me lose. Or the time I got beat almost bloodlessly because my king was still boxed in and I was in checkmate by a knight within 5 or 6 moves.

    Today...

Ha, my friend on Facebook posted a prediction that two and a half weeks after school is done, people will start posting "I MISS SCHOOLLL!". We're gonna see if he's right. You, good sir, need to rustle up some buds and go fishing. One of those things that never gets boring.

    Synesthesia

Just going to repost what I said to you before. I translate pretty much everything into a visual image. I can see sounds, feelings (like heat), etc. Probably why I listen to so much metal; thrash solos look pretty awesome. Lots of movement. People's voices also look different, obviously. I've also got visual maps for days of the week, the months, even a number line of years and a seperate map for regular numbers and another for letters. Incidentally, dance/pop music does have a fairly interesting look to it, and I can even pick up some places where the autotune is clear as day that my friends can't really tell simply because I can see it.
  10. I literally laughed aloud at this. But I guess you've never seen the awesome force that is my shoe shining ability. I already knew the tie length stuff and whatnot, just needed to know mostly if a black suit and tie was good for regular formal wear or if I would look too "G-Man"ish. Although one question, what about tie clips? I feel almost naked without one and my tie flaps about especially if I don't have the jacket on, but I've been told that a tie clip with a suit is a no-go. I'm pretty sure that guy doesn't know what he's talking about, though.
  11. Finally hit level 70 again. Good t have my AK back. Went pretty rampant with it, better than I do in most games. Also got my FAL Veteran I and somehow got Grim Reaper. It glitched, really, I got a triple kill and then a few minutes later killed 1 guy (maybe a second with cold blooded) and got it. Whatever, still works.
  12. Ok, question: Black suit, white shirt, black tie. Yes or no? I say it looks good. Ma says otherwise.
  13. Got my first veteran challenge. UMP. FAL is close for the next one, just maybe 50 kills or so.

    Favorite sayings.

"SSDD". Same [cabbage], different day. Kinda summarizes most of schooling. Some good education to be had, but a lot is pretty repetitive.
  15. I started using M16 with thermal, just because it's hilarious. Might start using an smg with thermal for extra lulz. Gotta say, it works fairly well. Lay down a smokescreen and just pick 'em off. Only problem is recoil, which is why I switched from F2000 to M16. 3 round burst over full auto/bursts. SMG may be a problem. I've also compromised my principles and use stopping power for my thermal class. I'm just sick of losing in a firefight even when I shoot first, soley because the enemy has stopping power and 1 hit kills.
  16. I'm with you there Jase :D Spiders do play an important role in the ecosystem which is your house - why do you hate them so much? On the topic of bugs, people who kill caterpillars. I mean really? They turn into butterflies and they don't even harm us. But I used to tie crickets and grasshoppers to small fireworks and light them as a kid. Good times.... Except for the ones that make big nests filled with 1000 or so of them that end up destroying the trees. That's what I've got around here.
  17. I use bling with my L86. Grip and holo sight. I also don;t use it in hardcore because of how long it takes to aim, but I carry a desert eagle for that purpose. Besides, with the larger capacity LMGs you may not need to reload anyway.
  18. Spawning is seriously [bleep]ed up. So many times have I actually spawned in view of the enemy, just with their back facing me, or with them just around the crner actively spawn camping. It works the other way, too; I've had enemies spawn right before my eyes, only for me to gun them down immediately. It just isn't right. In fact, today I had a match on Scrapyard, demolition it was. This guy camped in the house and spawn killed everyone, with a tactical insertion up there just in case. Not only do we spawn near him, but near the equipment as well. He stays just inside the side door, we spawn outside and he pokes his head out, and his ACR with stopping power means 2 shots and bam, all of us dead. Ends up getting a nuke eventually, but not before 100 kills by spawn camping. On a lighter note, unlocked the RPG again. I love it so much with scavenger; 7 kill streak with just RPG, plus maybe twice that later on. Such a great weapon.
  19. Four Horsemen. Much better bassline, the slow solo is excellent, and quite frankly, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse is a much more epic (and I mean that in its dictionary definition) and awesome (also dictionary definition) subject matter than yet another song about people [bleep]ing.
  20. "Because if they lived near the Jewish commuity they'd be bagulls..... What do you call a bunch of white guys sitting on a bench?

Huh. My school was nothing like that at all. It wasn't the greatest by a long shot and of course there were annoying people, but to say they are ignorant and have no personality is rather shallow. So what if they do those things? I'm pretty sure we all did them (you included), so there's no need to act all high-and-mighty-I'm-so-much-smarter-and-better-than-everyone-else, buddy. Don't try to tell me that's not what you're saying, because it is. By complaining about them, you are just as annoying and immature - this isn't the first time I've seen a post like this from you either. I don't think you're any older than thirteen. You'll grow out of it. No kidding, man. I've not run into these huge masses of imbeciles that you claim exist in every public school e-va-rr. And I don't know about you, but the education I'm getting (at least, a good 70-80% of it) is stuff that'll help me in the path I've thus far chosen for myself (everything but [bleep]ing English, man. And Government, but that might help some folks). All sorts of technical physics work, mathematics to complete said physics, military and leadership skills, foreign language. I'm all set to be an engineer and eventually drive a goddamned nuclear submarine. Yessir. You might think algebra is pointless, but it's an integral part of every other higher math. Even if you end up as an accountant or something you might need it, but especially if you head into engineering fields, it'll be so prevalent you won't even think about it. Get out of that "school sucks, it's pointless" mindset, and you'll realize what you really are getting. Except english, man. Don't even know why I need it, just let me read without making me analyze why the hero treads on a specific grassy field.
  23. The show "Criminal Minds" just pisses me off to no end. 'Oh, this guy used a knife. He's impotent and in a loveless controlling marriage and we can flush him out using [x]!" and it works every time. "Criminal profiling" fails 9 times out of 10 in real life, maybe more, there's a statistic somewhere. [cabbage]'s just a pseudoscience. MAkes me want to do something obvious like that just to prove them all wrong.
  24. Just found out a new Gaunt's Ghosts novel has come out. Almost wet myself.

    Sperm donations

The last thing we need is a Tip It'er donating sperm. Although this topic is controversial and a bit edgy for off topic, it does contain a fascinating moral dilemma or two However after reading this thread i'd like to ask two things. Lets not insult each other and Please for the love of all things innocent and fluffy, don't post any personal donation experiences. If you can do it in a mature and thoughtful manner and offer insight to the moral dilemma at hand - Fine. But if I read another "I get paid a hundred to do what i do at home lulz" - I'm going to get angry and lock the thread. Fair Warning. ~Das "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" Ok I'm done. Ok, so women are biologically driven to have children. But this still isn't imperative. Lots of women don't have children, so obviously it isnt required. Ergo, women are fully able to adopt. But even besides, I don't see the harm in sperm donors. So you won't know your real father- neither do some adopted kids.
