  1. What about those of us who don't do it because as a form of gameplay it sucks? It just isn't fun (except for the insane rewards).
  2. Mixed -- going out 180 days is good, but eliminating the weekly and monthly averages is bad.
  3. This is another good point. Does anyone have enough institutional memory to say whether this summer's inflation rate is out of line?
  4. This is an excellent point. Jagex has created the classic perverse incentive, which induces people to do precisely the opposite of what Jagex intended.
  5. If you're talking about the 26k trick, you're being only half honest with yourself. You enjoy making money. Nobody enjoys the 26k trick for its own sake. If Jagex nerfs it, you'll stop doing it.
  6. But this is the problem, not the solution. I agree with you that there's nothing wrong with doing the 26k trick since Jagex allows it. The implication of your post -- that everyone will have to do it to be able to buy things that are needed -- also is correct, but the problem is that doing the 26k trick is not, in and of itself, any fun. That's why it needs to be nerfed -- so people won't have to do it to compete in the inflated economy.
  7. That's for cooking the food to use for pking. Really, the flaw in Konkar's argument is that everything to which he points applies to monster killing as well as pking.
  8. I've seen no evidence that claws are crashing -- if they do, then I'm buying. I've also seen no movement on 3rd age.
  9. Everyone likes to whine about the price manipulators, but they will not have a fraction of the long-term impact on the economy that the 26k trickers getting cash rewards will have. Unless Jagex nerfs it (which they will), the only way players could get the best gear in the game would be to 26K trick. That's the definition of unbalanced -- players have to play a certain (and here, unintended and boring) way in order to compete. It really will destroy the game in the long run. But coming back to topic. For the market watchers, do we sell our items that have been inflating as soon as Jagex nerfs the 26K trick? I say "no" because the inflationary effect of the 26k tricking that's been going on is permanent and irreversible (except through a new money sink). Therefore, there is no reason to expect a price crash once 26k tricking stops.
  10. You may be right -- claws also have been skyrocketing since then.
  11. I'll believe that 3rd age has turned when I see it.
  12. Why wouldn't you use armadyl in the fight cave?
  13. I would sell now at min and buy back later at a lower price.
  14. You would if you were a noob!
  15. I resisted selling my guthans for a long time -- we had been through a lot of battles together. But I haven't used it since getting the bunyip. The spear sucks as a weapon. Against a tough monster, it's hard to hit enough to keep up with the damage you're taking. SGS totally powns guthans. I now use three things for healing -- SGS, bunyip and/or bones to peaches. My experience has been that there is no use for guthans when I have those three.
  16. Used to lend for free but soon got swamped by newbs constantly pming me to lend. So now I always charge, except to friends.
  17. Someone at your level should know better. If I use bunyip, there's almost nothing I kill that hurts me more than bunyip heals. That makes my armor's defensive stats irrelevant. I wear bandos all the time. I hit higher, I don't have to repair it, and I don't need the extra defense. There's a reason that Bandos costs a lot more than Barrows -- it's better. I've got nothing against Barrows -- I used it for a long time. But once you get the Bunyip, you don't need Barrows anymore.
  18. Dude, you're an elite Runescape player -- if you're worried about wasting your life, I'm afraid that ship already has sailed!
  19. Fun to read. Glad Killjoy, I mean Kill Life, hasn't found it yet.
  20. I think those will crash pretty soon as it seems. People are selling for only 12M. Look at dfs... They already are. Dark bows still seem to be running -- I sold eight this morning at max, no problem.
  21. True, but why would you want to eliminate a major aspect of gameplay? That's like saying getting rid of bh worlds would eliminate the 26k trick. It's true, but it would be throwing out the baby with the bath water.
  22. This poster was whining that s/he took a week to buy a big ticket item on the GE at mid and blamed it on price manipulation. If an item can't be bought at mid but can be bought, then it's not being manipulated. If the price were being manipulated up, it would be bought out. If the item were being dumped, you could buy for mid. If the whiny poster had complained that the item could not be bought for a week for ANY price, then that's probably price manipulation. But the scenario being described by the whiny poster is normal -- big ticket items are not commodity items and frequently are difficult to buy at mid. If you want the item fast (as the whiny poster apparently did), offer max. If you're too cheap to pay the going rate (and I've been there myself), then just shut up and wait. You don't get something for nothing, and if you want a cheap price, then the cost frequently will be some time waiting for a desperate seller.
  23. Really? What's better?
  24. Always lamps -- honestly, possibly to my detriment, I never even check the other possible rewards. There could be a spirit shield in there for all I know.
