Party hats - Yellow surpasses green?
Relax, dude. Did you notice that, as predicted, the GPH made a nice move today?

Another boneheaded move by Jagex
So it's not the "exhilarating risk" you want -- as you put it, you lose even more in dangerous CWA than in BH. After all, what are you really risking in F2P anyway, full rune? What you want is the insane drops. But I think most understand those have been out of line and are likely to be nerfed. Once they nerf the drops, people will stop farming BH, and you'll have all the room you want.

Cause BH/PvP makes it worthwhile with drops. Well there may be even more bad news for you -- I'll bet Jagex either has nerfed or will nerf the drops.

Pardon my ignorance, but why can't you do the clan pk'ing that you want to do in "clan wars"? Seems that's custom-made for you?

Dragon Dagger V.S. Dragon Claws
Claws are purely a pk'ing wep. As a pk'ing wep, claws own dds. Only advantage of dds in pk is damage/gp.

19th May 2009 - Missing my Mummy
Most girls I know don't whine like this. Whiners, be they male or female, will inevitably whine. But the point here is well-taken -- the game must not be too bad, or they'd stop paying for it.

Party hats - Yellow surpasses green?
Why is it when someone sees a thread he doesn't like, he feels compelled to post in it thus prolonging the thread?

Quests
The question was not entirely clear, but it's surprising how many bothered to answer without bothering to figure out what was being asked. Anyway, I think it's community. They know others will be doing the new quest. They want to do it together. They want to be able to talk with their friends about what it was like. One thing this proves is that rewards are not the only quest motivator.

Party hats - Yellow surpasses green?
I would be very curious about just how many rares really are in the game. Is it thousands? Tens of thousands? There certainly are a lot, but I have no idea precisely how many.

Party hats - Yellow surpasses green?
Not all threads will be of interest to all people. One of the beauties of Runescape is that it is a varied game. A very large part of the game is buying and selling. Some people buy and sell only out of necessity. But others use buying and selling as their primary form of gameplay. To those players, these threads can be quite interesting. But such players might have no interest at all in which 99 cape is the least newby. Grinders may be very interested in that topic. I say ignore the threads that are of no interest to you and read the ones that you find interesting.

Party hats - Yellow surpasses green?
Probably not, not permanently anyway. For some time now, we've been seing a compression of partyhat prices. Blues (and, to a lesser extent, the other relatively expensive partyhats) still are coming down (especially when you consider their prices relative to cheaper partyhats). The cheapest partyhats (purple and yellow) have been gaining on the others. I see this as a "commoditization" of the partyhat -- a partyhat is becoming a partyhat without as much regard being paid to color. Now that purple and yellow have closed the gap on green, I would expect to see green do relatively better as well. But whatever market forces made blues most expensive and purples least should continue to operate, just in a more narrow range.

Experiment on drop rate of whip-14 hours.(constant training)
Good point, but I would use attack and strength only -- bunyip should more than take care of healing, even without super D.

What impact does BH have on some items?
I never would have played FoG to get these rewards anyway -- it already was more time efficient just to buy the items. I do, however, play FoG to recharge items, and I assume some of that still goes on. Plus, it is a fun little game, if you actually play it. Most "players" just stand on the fist and hack. I have to admit that I do that, too, when I'm in a hurry. But when I'm killing time, I sometimes actually play the game, and it can be fun.

And don't forget the ripple effects -- if dfs is crashing, so is visage. There are a lot of visage hunters out there. Take them out of the picture, and the only people killing drags will be bone harvesters, which means nobody will kill blacks or metals. Pking drops seem simple enough to me -- the value of drops (overall) should roughly equal the value of items lost. It sounds like Jagex has skewed it to make it overly profitable. On the other hand, maybe they're just trying to draw people in and they'll nerf the drops later? This has been done with other new content.

Ah... Pking
Those who think anything in runescape has anything to do with "skill" make me sick, tbh. Reality check: You're not really out there fighting -- you're clicking a mouse. Those who click more over time own those who click less. Owning in pk is all about getting the statistical advantage on the other guy -- it's not about skill. For some reason, a cadre of newbs think it's "honorable" to get the advantage in one way (through a pure), but not in others (through gear, food, or whatever they can't do).

Annoying players in Bounty Hunter
This seems right -- if you cannot agree on terms on which to fight, but you still want to fight on your own terms, your only option is to do the training necessary to limit your opponent's options (like barrage or entangle). This might not be possible in F2P. F2P certainly has its limitations. Another alternative that hasn't been mentioned is to get your own team together and go up there and clean out his team. While his teammates are running and/or dying, you have your chance to kill your target.

Annoying players in Bounty Hunter
I could see how that would be a problem, but, and pardon my ignorance again, isn't this what entangle is for? If he's standing there with no armor, can't you entangle him and then either dds or claw him to death?
-
Annoying players in Bounty Hunter
If you want a fight with no armor, go to the duel arena and specify the rules.

Annoying players in Bounty Hunter
I'm no pvp expert, but can't you just kill them?

Dragon stones [bleep]ed. Bolt tips maybe?

What happened to Torstol?
I've got to believe that the supply of these is very low. You have to be really high level to clean them. And those few who can clean them probably went ahead and got the levels to make the zammy brew. It's hard to imagine more than a handful of these getting cleaned by someone and then sold on the GE -- probably the cleaner would almost always make them into brews. Of course, none of this explains the weird price dip. Who knows what's going on there?

Experiment on drop rate of whip-14 hours.(constant training)
Wow, I doubt we can get enough people to kill hundreds of thousands of them. I agree with you though on the mages -- best money that I've found in the game.

Experiment on drop rate of whip-14 hours.(constant training)
This is a good point. How many kills would we need for a conclusive study? Once we get that number, maybe we could get enough volunteers to get the kills within a reasonable amount of time?

Experiment on drop rate of whip-14 hours.(constant training)
Why does every newb feel the need to be a mini-mod? The Tip-it mods are more than capable of policing the boards. Seems clear to me he intends this to be an experiment on the whip drop rate. (That's what the subject line says, anyway.) A while back there was a thread speculating whether the whip drop rate had been nerfed. This will be a small test of that theory. If others join, the test will be larger. I vote that we focus on posting and let the mods moderate.

Experiment on drop rate of whip-14 hours.(constant training)
Let's see, that's about 5.5 seconds per kill -- I think you might need a little more time.
