Cultrally diverse
I've been meaning to ask this...I'm Asian, and as we all know, Asians take off their shoes when they enter houses. How about you white people? Now that I think about it, I haven't been to a white family's house in a really long time. I've had white people come to my house, and it's not instinctive for them to take off their shoes. So do you really not take off your shoes? Of course, it's different from person to person, but in general... I just take off my shoes to be polite and not make their floor dirty :P .

Favorite music videos (post em from youtube!)
I don't think I can really name a single band that's overly popular in their own country. And I think alot of people listen to Sigur Rós to be "trendy" and "cool"; their music (especially the early stuff, their new stuff is definitely abit crap) is far too niche for the mainstream audience that I'm seeing everywhere. I dunno. This wins the award for being mind-blowingly strange. 2Manydj's. Belgium, it's overly popular in our own country. -Renate : .

Do You Support Stem Cell Research?
Although I fully agree, wouldn't you feel a small amount of guilt? I know that the fetus itself never saw life but it could have turned out to be an awesome person... Then again I'd rather sacrifice a fetus and cure an amount of people.

Recommend an artist/band to the poster above you
Save that crap for the real life pictures thread.. And at Cyco, thanks for the recommendation man. I've never even heard of Stoner Metal (or is it something like Sludge?), so I'll definitely check them out. As for RpgGamer, I really don't know what you like. However, as someone else said, this thread is becoming overloaded with Metal, so I'll recommend you Madvillain. Really amazing Hip-Hop, with MF Doom as the MC and Madlib as producer. Madvillainy is easily my favourite Hip-Hop album of all time. Even if you don't like Hip-Hop, I'd seriously recommend checking them out. Even my brother, who is steadfast Indie fan and doesn't like any other Hip-Hop likes these guys. Stoner is related to Sludge yes. Oh, you like hip-hop to? Look for The lordz of Brooklyn (Saturday night fever). Very raw. -Renate (And thanks for the suggestion Lenticular, very chill :) )

Heard of all of those bands and theyre all good. I might go listen to some At the Gates, because ive never really listened to them. About Necrophagist though, they are too technical. My favourite tech Death bands are something more like Suffocation or Psycroptic. Well, you had a good try. Well, Intriguing old bean... *looks at WMP library...* You like Blackened Grindcore, which would lead me to believe you would like both Black Metal and GrindGore... So im going to recommend something completely different!!! Try listening to Electric Wizard, a Stoner Metal band. Id say anything from the album Dopethrone. For me, seems as though no one can suggest a Death Metal band I havent heard of, then Id like some Thrash!!! All the Thrash bands I have heard of: Anthrax, Blo. Torch, Dark Angel, Death Angel, Destruction, Evile, Exodus, Flotsam and Jetsam, Gama Bomb, Hyades, Kreator, Lawnmower Deth, Mastery, Megadeth, Metallica, Municipal Waste, Nailbomb, Napalm Death, Nuclear Assault, One Man Army and the Undead Quartet, Pantera, Raging Speedhorn, Rumplestiltskin Grinder, Sacred Reich, Sadus, Sanctity, Slayer, Sodom, SSS, Stormtroopers of Death, Suicidal Tendencies, Tankard, Testament, Venom, Vio-lence and Vovoid. If anyone can recommend me a Thrash Band I havent heard of then they get a cookie!!! (Poser garbage like Bullet for my Valentine does not count) If not then skip me. Good ol' Thrash? I listen to Brazilian mostly: Anthares, Apokalyptic raids, Asesino, Brujerias, Attomica, Bywar, Cavalera conspiracy, Chakal, Korzus, Sepultura (Wtf you listen to Industrial thrash metal from the same vocalist and you don't listen to sepultura? Same for Cavalera), Sarco[bleep]o (some albums), Sextrash, Torture squad. And Krisiun and Death for death metal \ ? You like stoner to? Tried out Acid bath, Bongzilla and Weedeater out yet? -Renate : .

Drug Vacinations
Anti-drug vaccination plan could immunize people from effects of cocaine, heroin and nicotine. http://www.naturalnews.com/001513.html [hide=]How would you like your children to be immune to the pharmacological effects of hard drugs like cocaine, heroin, and even nicotine? Using new medical vaccination technologies, children can now be immunized against the effects of these drugs so that they don't feel the high, or the brain chemistry alterations, from such drugs if they were to consume them. Doing this, of course, would make it extremely unlikely that these children would later grow up and become addicted to those drugs. Because without the brain chemistry alterations, consuming such drugs is basically pointless. It's an exciting new medical technology that has been tested in terms of immunizing people against the effects of nicotine, but now discussions are underway that would expand the program to other drugs such as cocaine and heroin and roll out national immunization programs for all children. This is being discussed in the UK right now, but chances are that it will soon merit discussion in the United States as well. For my own comments on this technology, it's helpful to look at both the outrageous cost to society for drug addiction and drug use, and the potential dangers of national vaccination programs. In general, I'm against vaccination when it's required or forced upon the general public, because I believe that many vaccines are tainted with mercury and other toxins and that they can cause lifelong problems in many children. It is well known that vaccinations against polio and others diseases actually kill some children, and the public health benefit of forced vaccinations among U.S. schoolchildren is highly debatable. But when it comes to hard drugs like cocaine and heroin, vaccinations start to look a lot more beneficial to society as a whole. For starters, if we could practically eliminate smoking in the United States within one generation, the nation would save countless dollars in terms of health care costs and improve productivity and quality of life of its citizens. This vaccination program has the potential to eradicate smoking altogether -- a move that would no doubt diminish the incidence of chronic diseases such as heart disease, lung cancer, nervous system disorders, and breast cancer. If we could immunize people against cocaine and heroin before they're at an age where they might start experimenting with such hard drugs, we could do tremendous good for the country as a whole by preventing drug addiction and all the lifelong problems associated with such addictions, including financial poverty, family hardships, and devastating health consequences. In theory, then, I'm strongly in favor of exploring a vaccination technology that can immunize children against the effects of these hard drugs and nicotine, because I think it would save untold numbers of lives and an extraordinary amount of money in health care costs alone. But to firmly stand behind such technology, I would need to be convinced that it is inherently safe and has no other negative side effects, and when it comes to vaccinations, that's a pretty tall order. Because many vaccinations do indeed have rather alarming side effects, and we should not force a population to undergo a medical technology unless it has been proven safe and effective -- and even then, I much prefer it being a choice of the parents, rather than being mandated by the federal government. Ideally, such a vaccination program, if proven completely safe, would be offered free of charge, paid for by taxpayer dollars, and publicized through public schools. Of course, I wouldn't want my own children to be the first batch of experimental human guinea pigs to receive such a vaccination, and I firmly believe that the best way to avoid hard drug addictions with our children is to give them a better education and strong family environments, where they don't need to turn to hard drugs in order to feel fulfilled in the first place. Now, as long as we're talking about vaccinations, there's an interesting idea of a far more useful vaccination that could aid in weight-loss efforts by the American public. What if we could be vaccinated against the sweet taste of sugar? If so, we could end our addictions to high-carbohydrate foods, and more easily choose healthful foods that don't contain so many refined carbohydrates. If human beings were born without the taste sensation for sweetness, and without the associated brain chemistry effects that automatically follow the consumption of carbohydrates, we wouldn't be so addicted to carbohydrates as a nation. Soft drink sales would be virtually non-existent. The grocery store shelves wouldn't be lined with candy masquerading as food -- like you'll find in granola bars or pizza sauce, both of which are made with refined sugar. The idea that we could all be vaccinated against the taste and brain chemistry effects of sugar consumption is, of course, pure fantasy at the moment, but it is not fantasy to suppose that with advanced genetic engineering technology we could someday produce offspring who are not so closely wired to the consumption of sugar. In fact, there's something you can do about that right now: research shows that when expectant mothers avoid eating refined sugars, their babies are born with less of a craving for sugars. And that, in my book, is one of the greatest gifts a mother can give her unborn child: a foundation for living a healthy life, free of refined sugars, soft drinks, cake, cookies, and other foods and beverages that promote obesity and chronic disease.[/hide]

Drug Vacinations
Agreed. Using it to break addictions to drugs like cocaine, methaphetamine, etc could be a good thing. But when you start trying to use it on people who use the drugs responsibly, there will be trouble. Do you mean responsible coke and methaphetamine users? Cause that stuff isn't exactly safe. It's not that bad actually, I knew some people who did coke once in a while and they were very responsible. I think he was referring to marijuanna or other light-drugs that can give you a high. -Renate. [/hide] I was actually referring to all drugs (though lighter drugs are easier to use responsibly). None of them are good for you, some are more safe than others, but all of them used responsibly can be okay. Well, not all. I'm open to quite a lot of things as long as it can be used responsible but crystal meth just seems a bit... Over the top. And the fact that I'd rather stick to 'natural' things, weed, salvia, shrooms, etc. -Renate. Fixed it for you. : ~meol Some drugs may seem over the top to us, but if someone can handle taking that drug and continueing to live a normal life, that's awesome. And I prefer to stick with "natural" drugs as well though I would like to try LSD and ecstacy. Haha, same. It's always funny when you see someone chewing his cheek or grinding his teeth, you just know that he took ecstacy and that it's free drinks time  ! Something I'll definetly try when I'm a bit older. LSD? I've thought about that before but people had experiences with it... Personality changing, it's really something you should only try when you are really, REALLY ready for it. Not when you're anxious, not when you're forced because that'll be a recipe for disaster (AKA a bad trip, something you seriously don't want with LSD). -Renate. (and thanks meol for fixing the quote tags :P )

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
There never came a relationship out of it, we alienated, she treated me bad, every time I see her she wears these... Outfits that can make me go *[bleep]*. Is it normal that after a couple of months now that we barely spoke and haven't even seen each other that I still think about her and that it still makes me kind of... Depressed? Jeez, I've been flipping behind this girl for over three years now, yet nothing ever came out of it and I just can't realize that there never will be something. I just want to stop thinking about her at all but there are moments when thoughts of her just slip into my mind. At night, when in bore... What I am doing lately is just drinking a bit, enjoying life, partying, a diffirent girl at every party that I seem to kiss (According to people, somehow I start drinking to forget about the girl, then kiss a random girl and enjoy the night then the next morning I don't remember anything at all, not an healthy habit hm?) but it all seems so wrong. After every night I feel guilty towards the girl(s) that I have kissed just because, I don't know, it feels like that I've used them? We both know that it's just for one night and to have fun but it just feels so wrong. I wish I would fall "in love" a bit faster. I hate sticking with these feelings and binging out and kissing random girls that I got to know that night. A girlfriend would probably draw me some borders, tell me what to do and to behave... But then again do I really want one? Do I want to give up that freedom and heck what am I talking about!? I don't even have any feelings for any girls at the moment. "It will come" is what people tell me, I don't know, perhaps it will someday. But that one little girl will always haunt me. She was the first person actually where I really felt that I could spend the rest of my life with her. Don't get me wrong I've seen other girls whom were very beautiful but the fact that I'm so emotionally attached to her and that I've grown to like her look a lot. I just can't seem to find other girls really attractive. No, this isn't one-itis I'm totally over that. It's just... Thoughts that keep coming back, I can't help it. I don't know why I typed this all down, I just wanted to share my story. Don't really need help or something just wanted to see if others had the same experiences with it ;) .

You have the prove so don't worry, if things go wrong though... I'd punch them in their faces, seriously. I got suspended for a lot of things, some were right some were totally wrong. Hopefully you can prove yourself.

How do you read a thread?
I read threads exactly like you, except I read all of the "Ever Caught Them?" thread. It was just to awesome to skip anything  It depends, I usually just open the topic and when the subject is interesting enough for me I just start reading. Whenever I get bored I just skip to the last page.

\m/-----Metal Sub-Genre Dictionary!!!!-----\m/
The definitions are messed up, anyways. For someone who is not a big metal fan like me, I am very confused. Every definition points you into the direction of another definition, which points you in the direction of another definition... (made up example:) Death metal: a more thrashy blood metal with swing to it. Blood metal: a straightforward sound that uses lyrics similair to grind core Grind Core: A heavy sound which is similar to goth metal thrashing You see what I mean? :wall: See the bits next to the definitions that says 'Band:...' thats for people who dont understand my definitions. If you dont understand the definition then go listen to any song by that artist/band, thats the best example of a band for that sub-genre. Get it? Did you read what I put? I know its Grindcore, but to show respect to the mighty Carcass Ive called it GrindGore, because they made the phrase 'GORE NOT CORE'. That only applies to GrindGore though, because the other 3 cores arent really metal. I always thought it was goregrind/porngrind though. -Renate.

If you like rock I think you should check out Stereomud, they're quite newschool but have an OK sound. If you don't like them there's always Saliva or Clawfinger. -Renate. I'm more of a metal head : .But I'll try it,since I do have a small collection of that sort of sound. I'll recommend...Arch Enemy.Either for you,or your brother. The male singer or the female singer :P ? Recommend me some albums? Don't have much of them, mostly the old ones. -Renate.
