Much, much better. First good episode of the season. I lol'd a bit when PWToS popped in at the end and drugged HRG. I think their absence was a big plus for the episode. Though the whole Indian wedding thing was totally pointless and played out like some little kid's bedtime story.
  2. Yeah I'm still trying to figure out why a 9-year-old would care that someone he's never met before didn't come to his birthday party. If it was me, even now, I'd be more relieved to avoid awkwardness. I have a very large extended family and without fail there are people I've never seen before whenever there is a family gathering. Rather uncomfortable.

Where did he say it was a conventional pixel? I think it looks great, the saturated colors and the sky (which I really like) give it an almost surreal effect. The text is annoying though, use a color that fits better with the rest, like the purple at the bottom maybe (you would have to try it first to see how it looks, it may end up horrid.) The moon also needs a bit of work, mainly blending in the purple corona-ish thing around it with the rest of the sky. And the rock under the tree needs more texture where it's just sold gray. I don't know what the problem is with the sky honestly, it has a sense of vastness that would have been rather difficult to achieve otherwise.
  4. Expert+ is only for drums and utilizes double bass pedal somehow, at least that's what I've heard about the subject. Considering I can only do hard on drums it doesn't faze me a whole lot.
  5. Find Randall Flagg and kill him.
  6. Oh crap. Lo siento mucho . . . Last week both ratchet and I were busy so we held off for a week. And then I dropped the ball and completely forgot about this week's. I have President's Day off, which is Monday, so maybe there will be an emergency issue. If not there should be one next Friday as planned.

It's not arguing in circles, it's arguing with a brick wall. On the other side of the brick wall is a mural of Edward, with legions of Twihards lighting scented candles at its base. On our side of the wall are three words in twenty-foot letters: "SHUT UP STUPID."

I thought that the story of Danielle's research team was pretty huge, considering it's been an untold one for five seasons. And we saw the Temple for the first time, and heard from the monster's own mouth that it was a security system for it. The monster made its first appearance of the season. And I suppose Mrs. Hawking being Faraday's mother was a revelation, though I pretty much had that guessed already. I personally found it pretty awesome when Ben pulled the van over and went off on Jack and Sun. I feel bad for him, everyone treats him like crap. Though not without good reason. And Jin is a beast. Jin-centric episode ftw.

It was bitter laughter for me. The writers are butchering this show so bad . . . just . . . ugh. Killing Daphne? What the [bleep] is this? Oh, Matt needs motivation to be against Nathan and part of Peter's Wonderful Team of Sociopaths so we'll get rid of one of the few characters that actually holds some water! BRILLIANT! It's Elle all over again except more pointless and with way worse implications. Honestly, the only thing good about this season so far is the Hunter dude, with him challenging Nathan and pointing out exactly how much of an idiot he is. He needs to do that for the rest of the cast. The writers can come up with some crackpot deus ex machina to make that happen, since they don't seem to have a problem with doing that in other circumstances. This used to be a good show :\

Peter's character is just an absolute mess at this point. It's a travesty. Take season 1 Peter. Naive hospice nurse with a "feeling" who turns out to have a massive Gary-Stu power, but it actually wasn't that bad because he had to learn to control all of his acquired powers and his lack of control led to lots of bad things. Pretty good character. Season 2 Peter, he loses his memory. Re-learns about his powers, becomes an annoying hard-[wagon] in the process. Then acts like an idiot about regaining his memory and then acts like an idiot when he finally does. Season 3 Peter, manages to not do anything with his powers long enough to lose them, then farts around being self-righteous and useless until he gets them back. Season 4, no one can figure out what the hell his new power is (what else is new, seriously) but he seems to be slowly drifting back to where he was in season 1. Only he shouldn't be naive anymore but is. Wow, just kill him off already. Only solution for dealing with a character that messed up.
  13. I go beyond what I normally listen to all the time, I've recently started to appreciate more R&B, techno, even some rap (but none of them in their really pure forms.) Heavier music just isn't my thing. But as I said before I know that not all of the bands posted would fall under that category. I recognize and enjoy quite a few of them. Some I recognize by name as being exactly the kind of music I don't like, and others I haven't heard of at all (like almost all of Intriguing's list lol), but that does not mean I'm ignorant enough to discard them. So I may, when I find the time, follow a few of these helpful links. Second sentence, agreed 100%. I don't care that anyone listens to music that I don't like. I doesn't affect me. The only reason I expressed my dislike in this thread was because I saw quite a few said bands and found it to be supporting evidence that a heck of a lot of people on the internet are metalheads. So I expressed the sentiment. And your first sentence, I didn't mean it like a genre or anything. I know nothing about that, remember. I just meant whatever was considered "heavy" to the desensitized ears of those who listen to it regularly. And don't kill me about the word "desensitized," there's a thread discussing that exact thing and no one is taking offense. On the subject of taking offense . . . I wasn't. People need to stop taking their music so seriously.

I think there were like two or three episodes that all took place on that day/night. Boone is injured in episode 19, Locke gets him back to camp and by then it is night. Jack begins his treatment of Boone and the episode ends with Locke banging on the hatch door. Episode 20 is a continuation of that night, with Boone eventually dying and Claire giving birth out in the jungle at the same time. Thank you DVD 8-)
  15. Gee, sorry I offended the metalheads. Like I said, much of the content of many of the lists mean nothing at all to me. Sorry if I classified them into one general category, because to me it all sounds the same. I don't care to sort through the subgenres of music I don't like. So lay off. Let me repeat that last phrase: Lay off. How is this: any better? You're calling my music piss-poor. Ahahaha, piss-poor it is not. I have no ability to recognize variety in all the subgenres of metal or even a single subgenre, because it is not appealing to me. But for some reason you guys claim the right to call the music I do enjoy worse than yours, because you don't enjoy it. Double standards much? I do sincerely apologize if I mislabeled any bands listed, but what I said was not meant to be taken as an absolute blanket statement. I thought that was obvious. And what you guys may call soft . . . really. Perspective. I don't like metal enough to listen to these humble bands, much less delve into whatever is hardcore or whatever according to your standards.
  16. The Raconteurs Red Hot Chili Peppers The Answer Eagles of Death Metal Foo Fighters The Bravery Rage Against the Machine Modest Mouse Muse Sublime No order. You won't find any obscure death metal on my list . . . Which is why I find these topics boring most of the time. For some reason people on the internet have an overwhelming tendency to listen to loud noise with names I've never heard of. Most of these lists are meaningless to me. (Except Lenticular's. High-five.)

Stephen King on Twilight He goes on to say that he understands why the books are appealing, and I don't necessarily agree with his reasons but whatever. Not huge fan of King as a writer but I love his personality. About time someone in the writing world took the time to let everyone know that Twilight sucks.

Where do you live? 0_o That's exactly what's happened to me over the past week. Yeah, yet another snow day today. Snow started at noon yesterday, was friggin scary driving home in that.
  19. Ratchet, you really do need to calm down about this sort of thing. Everyone else, you really have no place telling anyone that writing is not for them. Ratchet has posted quite a lot of material here, and if it isn't always polished at least he thought it good enough for other people to read and thought they might enjoy it. Or maybe he wanted criticism because he knew it needed work, but I rarely see people give good C/C anymore. I'm guilty of that myself, but I try to make a good effort when I can. But I do find a bit overwhelming the amount of stuff you do post, ratchet, so maybe cut back a bit. Furthermore it's perfectly understandable if he doesn't want to post his better works. Maybe he's working on a very large project that he doesn't want to compromise by posting on the internet for the whole world to see. I know I have a novel in progress that I have posted bits of, but never would I dream of putting any substantial amount of it on here. In the meantime there is nothing wrong with polishing his skills by writing short pieces, or even short-lived long ones. The idea was there, and whatever part was written just goes on the experience shelf. No amount of editing is going to completely alter a person's writing style; that only comes with writing and more writing. Honestly I think there has been some good advice posted, and if it doesn't apply in particular to this thread then you can at least take note of it in the future. And I'm glad to see you others sticking around, because I share the sentiment that all of the old posters have left or are inactive and this forum has really slowed down.

Disappointing to be honest. Peter's being an idiot again, Nathan's being a [bleep] again, Noah's switching sides again . . . Combine that with the fact that nothing happened. A bunch of random tangents all added up to them being on a plane together, and it crashing. I wonder where we've seen that before? Only way better done. Maybe this was just a bad introduction, because what it sets up has some potential. And the more I think about it the more that seems to be the case, because that episode just rushed through a crapload of, well, crap like it couldn't wait to get to the actual story of the season. Still not a great episode.

^Yeah, same guy. And it was the season 3 finale, not 4 ;)

he's involved with the next ep I rewatched the episode and saw him credited as a producer in the beginning credits, so that's why I missed him. AND! AH! I just remembered something Mikhail (Patchy) said in season 3! "But you, John Locke, you I seem to have a fleeting memory of. But I must be mistaken, because the John Lock I knew was--" And then he's interrupted. I'm willing to bet he was about to say something along the lines of the Locke he knew being the same age Locke is now. Two-season foreshadowing ftw.
  24. Wait you don't have that one? :o! Haha, thanks. I actually don't mind it that much but it's annoying to play, especially the first time I got to the end and there were those stupid consecutive slider notes. That's the same thing that screwed me up a few times in the Ramblin' Man outro. Right now I'm working on improving my Good God score, since it's an easy one and my initial made-up path got me 26th on Wii. I suck at squeezing though. This'll be good practice. Current score is 237,616 or something like that, which would be 13th Wii if I had it uploaded.

False. It's undefined. Just like anything else divided by zero.
