  1. No, definitely not. If you wear a tux to work, you will look incongruous (ref: the Office). If you wear a tux to a bar, you will look even more incongruous. The limit you shouldn't reach, not the one you should try.
  2. Now too much is considered only formalwear. I hate to reference Mad Men, but it comes in handy here - hardly any time ago, a man who had to wear a shirt and/or suit to work would have French cuffs and cufflinks. Besides, just because they may be formalwear now doesn't mean that they can't be worn casually. Ties? Blazers? Pants? If you're so black-and-white as to say you can only wear this at a certain time and location, at least if it isn't a full-on tuxedo or British morning dress, most everywhere in the world would be full of people in t-shirts and athletic shorts. Wait. Okay, bad example. But I hope you understand my point. Being overdressed isn't bad ... To a limit. A tuxedo in a bar is probably the limit, depending on how nice the place is. A suit on a camping trip, probably a bad idea. And cufflinks are fun. They are one of very few things men wear almost exclusively. If you want some that are casual, get some silk knots. Nobody will say you're overdressed if your sleeves are just held together by some fabric. Just a classier way to fasten them. Should the nicer shirts that have natural buttons of horn and bone be relegated only to formalwear? I just dislike that people feel some things can only be formal or fancy. Although I will say that if you're doing a lot of writing during the course of a day, cufflinks can definitely get in the way. But I prefer to roll my sleeves up when I'm writing anyway. A good medium ground is convertible shirts - either go button or cufflink. Not quite as good looking as a proper French cuff, but a find substitute that few people will notice the difference.
  3. Holy [cabbage] you're a cat. That explains a lot.

I had a croissant for breakfast. A couple powdered donuts as well. The Hostess ones in the bag are my weakness, and really the only donuts not from Donut Stop I'll tolerate to live.
  5. Silly rule. Looking good is ageless. You should dress for the occasion, but I feel that if the occasion involves a nice shirt, adding french cuffs might as well be necessary. Particularly if you aren't wearing a tie or anything else that you can use to your advantage. I only own one french cuff shirt, unfortunately, and it isn't close to my favorite. So hard to find them, until I make my own with Custom Label or something. Oh oh oh! If anyone reading this is looking for a good suit that will last them a while, Primer Magazine and Indochino custom suiting are offering a coupon! 10% off any of their suits (which, if it isn't perfectly tailored when received, they'll pay for you to take it to your own tailor - I want the light gray but all my funds are tied up for college, gas, and insurance), a free dress shirt of theirs, and free shipping. Far Most of their prices are just a wee bit more than a department store. Not an advertisement, just thought you oughtta know. Best thing I've learned from Primer, to be honest.
  6. The beginning is still unbeaten in my eyes. Jumping out of an airplane and skydiving/skyboarding? Hella yes.
  7. Here. Basically, Mars is coming the closest it has since the Neanderthals. It has been almost as close plenty of times before, but the most recent was 1927, and before that was in the 1800's. Don't miss this event.
  8. Easily fixable.
  9. No French cuffs? Are you crazy?
  10. I just dislike short-sleeves with ties. Go long and roll them up if it's hot. Just my two cents.
  11. Ties are good. Ties with short-sleeve shirts, however, are more like McDonald's.
  12. Sweet. I should like totally, just read the New England Journal of Medicine and then, [bleep] yeah, I'm a doctor. Well, you would probably know more than your friends. New England is overrated in the medical world, though.
  13. I quite liked a few of the boxing series. Ignited my interest in the sweet science. Now I'm the resident boxer of my group of friends. Caving was useless to me, but pretty cool. Antonio's style articles are great. The guy's a cool guy.
  14. Saw it. It was good. And that was just at the beginning of the night. I missed the peak a little after midnight, though, because me and my friend wanted to see if we could find this one place north of the city and then clouds and light pollution ruined it. It was great while we watched, though.
  15. I can't tell the difference once you go too far beyond oxford (of which I only know the three major kinds), loafer, and the other majors. Boots. Boat shoes, sandals. Eh. I wish I knew how long that Express sale was. I really want to pick up some shirts, and possibly some pants. Gilt has been useless lately.
  16. Seersucker suits are quite proper. Well, for us Suth'n Gen'l'men. Anywhere else it's a bit of a joke. Those shoes are decent. I don't care about the loafers, but the oxfords are pretty cool. Perforated. Neat.
  17. You should hear the stories of people getting raped while witnesses just walk by and do nothing about it. It really sickens me how much your average person doesn't care about your average person. It isn't not caring. It's fear. Fear of confrontation. Your average person will simply assume it isn't their problem, and someone will fix it.

Yeah, shouldn't imagine it to be terribly different. If my friend Will is any authority (I guess technically he is) it will revolve much more around technical things. Then again, our theater class doesn't do much in the technical aspect. I've inherited our top two guys' mantles of responsibility since they've graduated. It will be absurd.

Did you do theater in high school?
  20. Maybe because people like you prefer instead to be cynical and rude as to anything that you don't like. I don't care if you don't like it, but there's absolutely no reason to be so rude about it. I also hope you realize what a hypocrite you're being. I realize you think you're better than everyone for some reason (anonymity?), but bringing it up like that really just makes people think less of you. I hope you aren't like this to people in real life. Actually, I'm sure you're much more quiet. Sometimes I regret that I still frequent this website.
  21. All over the world. Usually more meteors fall to the south of wherever you are. Oh, it is. The 12th has always been the peak for me. Just keep an eye out whenever it gets dark tonight. I can almost guarantee you'll see it. Quite a show. I watch it every year. This year, going southwest of the city with some friends.
  22. I can vouch for these shirts kicking ass.
