  1. no one deserves to be alone  aw. The worlds destruction will be caused by dwarfdude3, you heard if folks. Global warming? nop, just dwarfdude3.. exactly
  2. Even though it was a children's book from the beginning, I think it's become a bit too serious and dark for that kind of happy ending, tbh. That would not be a happy ending at all! Snape redeems himself and then DIES. That is pretty depressing in my opinion.
  3. -getting Masters in college, deciding whether or not to go on for a P.H.D. -possibly looking for a job with NASA -still being single and without a girlfriend -plotting world destruction
  4. Harry won't die. I'm quite sure of that. The series does have a sacrificial theme to it, but it is not Harry making the sacrificices. I'm thinking Snape will redeem himself and possibly sacrifice himself for Harry, but that would be too much like Tale of Two Cities. And then theres still Wormtail, he will probably have a role as well. I think it is a distinct possibillity that Dumbledore will be back in some form, just to point Harry in the right direction. And even though I know there is like no chance of it happening, I really hope Ron gets killed off so he can't marry Hermione.
  5. I don't get it, is this for like some kind of mental thing...? Do we have to be like sick to take this?
  6. er... no. The original poster directly mentioned Atheism is the first post. Obviously, the intent was a religous/atheist debate, which is perfectly fine. As for evolution, religious people have a right to their opinion, as with all people. There is NO way the ban should be reinstated. Nobody wants that. People just need to be a bit more civil and tolerant.
  7. ...wow. You realize that there are about 2.1 billion christians in the world, with only about 3.8% of the worlds population calling themselves Atheists. And you talk about how horrible it is to be a Christian, and to be trodden down by these awful Atheists.... Think of how the atheists feel. They have nothing to belive in AND they have to put up with all the crap that all the other religions have to put up with. Not to mention the threats of hellfire that have appeared numerous times already on this thread. Don't you think Atheists wish that there was a God and Heaven? Who would not like this to exist? Maybe atheists are just more realistic. There are about 1.1 billion atheists, or roughly 10%. You can check the website for other "denominations". Just don't post any personal flames, general, reasoned critique is o.k. and expected. Debating theological flaws is not the same as directly attacking a person's faith and beliefs he has had for possibly all of his life. It's ignorant to argue in a belittling way no matter what a person believes (though, discussion does require all parties to read sources provided by each other given they are reliable) I notice on your source, it groups that 1.1 billion number together with Agnostic and non-religious people. ....and how were my arguments not reasoned?
  8. Flying Spaghetti Monster wasn't invented by South Park. I knew about it long before that episode (which wasen't even all that great). http://www.venganza.org/
  9. NaS- Hip Hop is Dead. The entire album is great, here is the song: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Vrzy4Bp_k2Y
  10. I could care less what the lyrics are for a song. I listen to the music I like because it sounds great, not because I agree with the lyrics. Since when do you have to analyze the lyrics to have the right to enjoy a song? And for the record, I don't like Green Day. But my point still stands. No way, lyrics are just as important to a song as the music is. People like you are the reason we end up with songs like 'My Humps' or 'Sexyback'.
  11. I have been and continue to be a Green Day fan ever since the release of American Idiot, and have been and continue to be a non-supporter of Bush ever since he was elected. read carefully. and remember American Idiot was released in 2004, and Bush was elected in 2000.
  12. ya, as it was said earlier, the world is not that bad right now, except for Iraq, and some other minor struggles, like Darfur and Somalia. But I mean compare this to like WWI and WWII, and France and England's Hundred Years War, and The American Civil War, and the Crusades, and the Punic Wars with Rome and Carthage, and the Russian Revolution. I could go on and on. I think we are lucky not to have such a major global stuggle right now. But this situation in the middle-east could very well spin out of control, and we, like the generations before us, may have to overcome our own major problems.
  13. The song and vid are very good in my opinion. I like both bands, Green Day and U2, and have for a long time. I find it really ironic about the way people hate and love Green Day. They released American Idiot in 2004 around election time, when American president Bush's approval ratings were still doing alright. What happens? They are insanley popular. Now, its 2007, and practically everyone hates Bush, but Green Day's popularity has really dropped. What the hell is going on? The only explanation can be that the majority of people that listen to Green Day don't give a rat's [wagon] about the message of their songs, and just listen because they think it is 'cool' or the popular thing to do. I have been and continue to be a Green Day fan ever since the release of American Idiot, and have been and continue to be a non-supporter of Bush ever since he was elected. I think people should learn to rely on themselves a bit more, rather than on what other people tell them to do.
  14. Any reggae will do the trick. It may seem a little weird at first since everyone is used to rock or rap, but once you get over the initial shock of its difference, you will find it is one of the best genres out there. and the happiest. So, throw down some Bob Marley, I think some guy earlier recomended 'Cheer Up', which is a great song, but kinda a deep cut. I would start your friend off with something like 'No Woman No Cry', or 'Get Up Stand Up', or 'Jammin'. Very good songs. and very good at healing depression.
  15. I just saw this for the first time the other day, and I think it may be one of my all-time favorite movies. Before I saw it, everyone I talked to said the ending sucked, but I thought it had to be one of the best movie endings ever. So, did anyone else think that the whole thing was like an allagory to Christianity, or at least some sort of religion? Basically, my thoughts are, of cource the scene with Neo hung like Jesus at the end, and the whole sacrifice itself, but more convincing is this: I see Morpheous, Lock, and Naobi as the most interesting sets of characters in the movie. I'm pretty sure the Wachoski brothers set up the thoughts of an agnostic person wavering from atheist to believer through that of a girl wavering between two men. Lock of course represented the atheist, and Morpheous, the believer. (and ya I know theres a ton of spelling mistakes, but I'm lazy today).
  16. I second this one. I'd also recomend: Waiting in Vain- Bob Marley Turn Your Lights Down Low- Bob Marley Do You Remember?- Jack Johnson ...and by far the best love song ever, I'm suprised no one has mentioned it yet: Better Together- Jack Johnson
  17. wow I suck, 59.45. But then again, I'm American and don't really know geography on that area very well. Some of those countries I had never even heard of.
  18. alright, screw this thread, I just have this tendency to come and rant on tip.it whenever I get pissed off. I really don't have that bad of a problem.
  19. YES, I'm from Missouri and our city has been declared a disaster area, with about 60% of its residents without power. Where I am though, nothing really exciting has happened. We had power pretty much all day, with occasional flickers. I went out and drove around a bit, and there is ice on all the trees, and a lot them have fallen down, blocking some roads. Its pretty crazy. I hear it is even worse up north from where I live, which sucks cause thats where most of the poor people live. But then it is also where my school is....damage? :anxious: I hear that a lot of shelters and hotels have been all booked up too. This is pretty exciting, but nothing is happening to me, I guess that is good, but it is kinda boring. :|
  20. ya you guys aren't getting this, but I accept that it is my fault for lack of being able to explain it. I dunno. and Mercifull, are you not feeling forced to conform to the specific trend of 'difference' that you are your friends do. If you were to start doing other stuff, then would your friends still like you?
  21. Ok, see it is not like my friends reject me if I don't follow the trends, it is more like we just don't have anything to talk about, and thus, the friendships fizzle out. and just to be even more clear, I am NOT trying to be something I'm not just to hang out with a certain 'group'. I'm just commenting on how if you don't follow trends, you don't get good friends, regardless of their 'status' in popularity.
  22. ok well I am still in high school, but I have seen how people are in adult life too. It may not be as extreme, but girls still have that attraction to those kind of guys. I just wish people would learn to control their emotions, particulary those kinds.
  23. Omg! I'm so like that! :P lol But in more of a unembarrassing only to good friends kind of way. But I'm still not 'popular'. I don't think anyone really is 'popular'. Fads go in and out constantly. Exactly! I do do that when I'm not on this forum. I may seem like a depressed loser with no friends on this forum, that is just because I only come here to say stuff anoyomously and that I would not normally tell people. Now, that kind of comedy does get you friends, but it just doesn't seem to last. I mean eventually they always find someone better, or just get bored with you because you are so uninteresting. For example, if I'm with two of my friends, and the two start talking about something I know absolutly nothing about, I have been known to jokingly interject comments that I know probably have nothing at all to do with what they are talking about, but sound complicated. They laugh and stuff, but then the next thing I know, they are just back to talking about stuff I don't know about. I can't just keep making jokes forever.
