Confusion
But do you seriously think everyone you meet does that? Or is everyone else acting as well, because they think everyone else does it? What is your definition of 'normal'? Can you now fit into the definition of 'normal'? I think there is a lot of good stuff out there, some popular, some not. But I find that a majority of popular stuff is really stupid (american idol, come on...) but then where does this leave your social life? me: What do you like to do? person A: I like to watch reality TV and slapstick comedy. me: Oh, I don't. I like other stuff that is more interesting and relevant. person: Oh. I don't. end of conversation. end of social life.

Out of all the awards out there, whats the most prestigious?
This is like comparing apples to oranges. What makes an athlete better than an actor? they are both just entertainers that we can live without. And keep in mind that soldiers could not do half of the stuff that they do without the technology that allows them to do so. This comes from scientists. Yet, the scientists could not do their scientific work if they are not safe, and they must be protected by the soliders. You just can't argue this....

Confusion
ok, see I'm not trying to be something I'm not. I'm talking about how I spend my free time. I could waste time on these forums or do other stuff that is free and nobody else ever does. Or I could spend money and play Halo or watch movies and stuff that normal people do. Its not like i'm trying to act like the cool guy in school, and I don't want to be the most popular person ever by putting down people 'under' me. I just find this correlation between the ammount of time and money you spend on pop culture stuff and the social life you have.

Why dont Americans Find Football (Soccer) So Interesting?
I'm American and I love soccer. But that is not popular, so people don't like me.

Confusion
Hmmm, So I am really confused at the way the world works, and am mad at our creator for making it work this way. Basically, I am happiest when I am hanging around my friends and we are having conversations and just kinda sitting around. But in order to actually have friends at all, one must conform to the society we live in, where we have to get all the latest stuff and keep up with whatever is popular. I do not like this. People should not do this. But if I do not, nobody likes me, and I have nothing to talk about. Why is it like this?

Valentines day. Eeeeeep.
Hey! You're full of crap! :D Hey! Shut up! :| Well it's true... Not really, if you want to care for someone you truly love, then do it year-round and not just because some marketing scheme or a calander tells you to. I appreciate love can seem confusing at time, but really if it were simple, it wouldn't be as rewarding as it feels. And by love I mean, willing to marry and spend the rest of your life with. Not some flimsy 2 month old teeny relationship. Well, if someone has a girlfriend, then they should love her all year round. One day shouldn't change anything. I agree. But, I do think that a day where we give our girlfriends a little extra something that says, "Thanks for loving me!" isn't much. He's full of crap because he's assuming that all girls and all relationships are like that. Let's take a look at my girlfriend, shall we? She wears black, she's very emotional, and she actually cares about people's feelings. Does that mean I can't love her because, apparently, all love is null and void? I agree, love has changed a lot in a bad way, but that doesn't mean all love is like that. Perhaps a relationship may spring up between two people that aren't sterotypically masculine football player and feminine cheerleader. But please admit that this is the way a majority of people (of any age) are. Maybe a girl will go out with a nice guy that cares about her, but when she meets the perfect guy, that is better looking, stronger, and more masculine, she will feel more attracted toward him. It is not her fault at all, it is God's fault for making the system that way. So my point is: do not love. and I still don't get that thing about the ring...

'Surge' Strategy
Oh yay! Another South Africa! [sarcasm] We don't need more troops over there at this point. I didn't see this because I was a bit busy, but did he give a reason as to why he wants more troops over there? Basically it is because he thinks that if we don't, Iraq will spin out of control and create a safe-haven for terrorists. Now, I was against the war from the start and have never supported it. But that is besides the point now. If we are going to focus on the future, we need to not dwell in the past. Basically I think we need to hand over control to the Iraqi forces, not the American troops. Sending in more troops will only increase the Iraqi dependence on the Americans. If we were to do a complete withdrawl it would, like Bush says, have potential to be disastorus. But keep in mind that continuing to let Americans die in a war that should never have happened is also disastorous. I think redeploying troops is a risk worth taking. If we continue what we are doing, we will only keep on losing lives. If we pull out, two options could happen: Iraq stabalizes itself, or Iraq becomes anarchy. Though, of course, anarchy is not going to stay forever, and eventually some form of leadership will come through, and I think we can deal with any threats that come from that, because I highly doubt they will be on a nuclear scale. The thing that really got me with Bush's speech was that he had ordered to send a naval force in to 'intercept' any possible millitary troops from Iran or Syria. This is really sending the wrong message, and is just asking for trouble. I think Iran can be perfectly reasoned with, though Bush seems to try to corrupt us American minds to think he is a 'hitler-like' leader. Kinda like he tries to imply Iraq attacked us on 9/11. ...wow, sorry, I just get carried away on political rants  I could go on for a ton more, but I will have mercy on you guys.

So ever tried meditating?
Meditating is basically clearing your mind. To meditate, you must allow your mind to rest within your body, rather than allowing your thoughts to wander aimlessly. I would highly recomend it, and would also recomend you look into books or other information about zen buddhism and tao, and that kind of stuff. The best way to clear your mind is to concentrate on your breathing. You inhale and you exhale every moment of everyday. So, to focus your thoughts, you can concentrate on this natural occurance to block out all other thoughts. Try to see how long you can go with only thinking 'in breath' as you breathe in, and 'out breath' as you breathe out. It may sound easy, but it is quite challenging. There is a man named something like (and I know I'm spelling this wrong): Tek Nucht Han, who had something to do with Tibet and Buddhism. I don't know that much about him, but I do know he is supposed to know a lot about this kind of stuff and has written some books on it. If anyone finds out the correct spelling, I would really like to look up some of the stuff he has written. Edit: hey 200th post. Oh wait, that is practically nothing.... -.-

Immortality
You've got all eternity to get over it. I don't think you'd stilll be mourning them after a few thousand years. And after reading more posts on here, I must say that I've got another condition. If I end whenever the world ends (or universe as we will probably colonize space eventually), then I also end. I don't want to live post-apocalyptically. Unless I like get transported to some alien planet. That might be kinda cool.

Star Trek: Original or Next Generation?
They have ran Next Generation on [bleep]e TV for a long time now, and only recently have they begun running Original on both TVland and WB.

How to Make the World a Better Place.
Just concentrate on your studies for now, get to college, and then do something with your knowledge. There is a star trek where they accidentally abduct a guy from present day time. They decide to just send him back to Earth because he made no 'signifigant contribution' to society. My goal is to make my 'signifigant contribution' somehow before I die, and hopefully it will be for the better. In the meantime the best you can do is just be a good person and try help others to become better people too.

Help me find a book to read
dang, it has to be american? there goes Orwell and Tolkein. Those two should be your first starters if you ever decide to read for fun. As for American, you could always fall back on Mark Twain or O'Henry. But I'm pretty sure there is more modern stuff out there that may better suit you. Isaac Asimov is Russian-born, but an American citizen, you may want to check him out, he writes Sci-Fi (I, robot). I'm also asumming it can't be non-fiction, cause I also read political books, but I doubt that would intrest you or many others.

Immortality
People should have a clear idea of what they're getting into before they agree to anything. I figure by immune he means you are like the Terminator, and pretty much nothing can destroy you or hurt you. if not, then I take back my last post  ...well but still maybe not. Cause eventually science will advance so far to cure you in time of whatever sickness/injury you may get.

Immortality
ah, but if you didn't have to worry about getting killed, it wouldn't be too hard to escape... As for me, I would do it. It would be pretty awesome. You would get to watch all the different generations of people and the rise and fall of civilizations. It would be very interesting. It would be like living through history. And think of all the help you would be able to give to the young people once you are like 1,000. You would pretty much know about everything and could really make an impact on civilization.

Lets give some back to our world.
I don't trust this. How do I know its not just a huge corporate scam? How do I know that my clicks really do benefit the needy? If you want to give back, don't reject beggers. At least then you are positive you gave someone a better chance toward a better life.

Star Trek: Original or Next Generation?
To quote Werid Al: "The only question I ever thought was hard was do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?" Well? Me, I like both Kirk and Picard and could never decide between the two of them. But if we are talking about the series' then I would definitly go with Original. Although some of Original's episodes are really kinda 'out there', others are *very* good. And Spock is awesome. Lack of Vulcans is what really kills Next Generation. Not to mention McCoy and Scotty.

Valentines day. Eeeeeep.
Valentine's day, like Christmas, is freaking stupid. Of cource there is the commercial aspect, but really, love in general is not worth it. Why did God make love work the way it does? It is really freaking dumb. The girls are attracted to the guys that are not going to care for them, and the guys that really do get stuck with nothing and a pathetic life. If you try to be a good person, you get nothing but crap. I cannot comprehend why God would make life like this. (and I'm not trying to spark a religious conversation, I am more saying 'god' as like 'creator', not a specific religion).

What concert stole your 'concert virginity?'
steppenwolf. It was quite awesome. Just a few years ago too, and they were still great.
