Just got another runecrafting level! \ Only 18 more to go :(

You can help people in runescape before becoming a pmod. Helping people in-game means there is a higher chance of you becoming a Pmod. So the ability is there all the time. But now that you've become a Pmod, you get some cons such as unwanted attention. So surely Being a pmod actually worsens the game experience. I can't believe that being a mod actually worsens the game experience. Mods may get bothered by players, but that's only the nooby ones, and the ability to have your reports always go through is worth it, because you can seriously help the game. If you're chosen to be a mod, JagEx has probably chosen you because you're the type of person who likes to try to make the game experience better, and so won't mind the bothering you recieve when you're a mod.

I consider myself a power fletcher, and that statement is inaccurate. I actually refuse to cut the logs, seeing as it is-or was, considering the new update, a few times slower than stringing. I could get nearly 200k xp per hour stringing, compared with 75k per hour cutting. I would buy Yew Longs (U) and Bow Strings and string the longs. Hmm.... interesting technique. I personally have always cut and strung my own logs, as I needed some time to let my mind wander. I also like to talk to people while I fletch, and while stringing was fast EXP, it was nice to get a respite. Now, however, I find myself missing the old methods.... Some people don't talk very well, and if you can't find an interesting subject, you might as well get fast EXP.

I do this all the time! I sometimes notice a mistake at the beginning of a PM or message I'm typing, and instead of pressing enter, I press backspace. And if I ever do make a mistake, I send a correction (eg. *the, not teh). It really ticks me off when you hear the people who say "yo dud wtf r u doin?". It is actually more challenging to me to type like that than it is to type properly.

Well, you're absolutely right. Fletching and cooking, however - does anyone really respect these? And firemaking, while harder is not so hard as some. However, one does need to consider the fact that buyable skills do still take work. Cooking and fletching, admittedly, are the most prominent buyable skills, but they are also among the fastest EXP per hour in the game. Construction, while buyable, doesn't train as fast, and though herblore is considered to be a buyable skill, it still takes many loooong hours of repetitive clicking of vials, herbs and seconds. Buyable 99's are as respectable as others, because they are simply skills that take money to get, not ones where you buy extremely fast EXP (with the exceptions of fletching and cooking). Herblore does still take work, and while not much can compare to the long hours of work required in, say, mining or fishing, herblore or construction can easily be equated to something like thieving or firemaking (which, IMO, can't be considered a buyable skill, as it only really requires ~3m to buy, and takes many hours of grueling clicking [however, the cape looks awesome :) ]). So, buyable skills should not be considered to be 'less' than non-buyable skills - they should be considered only in terms of the time taken to get them, and the sheer amount of effort the player puts forth in attaining the cape.

No, it's impossible to do it manually. I personally am going for 99 fletching, and this has slowed down my EXP per hour considerably. It may be JagEx trying to slow down the advance of 99 fletchers (there are certainly lots of them), or to make Fletching into a more admirable 99, but it's not going to work - too many people have the idea of 99 fletching in their head as an "easy" 99. Of course, it is still, but not so much as it used to be. I believe that Cooking is probably easier now, as it gives more EXP per hour (more per shark than per bow strung!) and you can do it with less attention, as you can 'cook all' for a load of 28, which you can only do for half the time while fletching. If JagEx made the option to 'turn off' this feature, so that you could do it manually, they would have to make this available for everything, which could be a pain for them. Also, they would probably have to first make the option available for everything (taking into account that herblore has something that could be done, and I'm sure there are others I can't think of yet). So, I believe that we're going to have to live with this, however much we don't like it. In the interests of fast EXP, the old way was better, but this way you can read forums, watch movies, etc. while fletching. Better? I think not. However, there are people out there who believe that the new way is the only way, which I suppose means JagEx have done a good job with this update. Like they say, "You can please some people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time." So, if JagEx can make the majority of people happy (which, with this update, is certainly questionable, but not unreasonable), then they're doing well.

Best of luck with 75 mining! I like mining, but never for very long.... It ends up getting boring for me within 2k ores or so . It's also very slow, and so I don't like it (I like fast, buyable skills, such as Fletching and Con. ) Gratz on 73 mining as well! Post on my blog pl0x? :)

I don't believe that a mod would ever become corrupted by their power, as I think JagEx chooses their mods carefully and don't choose that type of person. But it IS possible that JagEx giving them recognition floods them with reports from people who ant that recognition, and so try to become a mod by reporting the smallest of rulebreakers. Also, mods don't have as much power as they would without the crown, because people become better behaved when they see the little silver crown in the chat box.

fletching you gain money, cooking cost a couple mil loss, firemaking from level 81 to 99 is 12mil not that much really i would really like to see you buy herblore and cons cons easily breaks 50m and herblore is very diffcult to get the herbs and selling them *Cough* ~120m *cough* :lol: Hehehe. Don't you have herby as well, Tripsis? And wasn't herby 100m? Seems kinda like a buyable skill to me..... (I've read your blog. :D ) I calculated (and this was all in my head) that Construction would cost somewhere around 90m. That includes payments for the butler, but not money spent on making your house nice. It is technically possible to have 99 construction with only 2 rooms (garden and kitchen), and it'd be just as fast to get, with Oak Larders. However, if you want to make your house nice, it seems to me it would cost 20m+. So overall, that equals ~110m. Then, in my mind, constructers would be some of the most respected, because all of them have to have made the money that they bought the skill with in some way, and most of them do it through runecrafting (which is, IMO, the fastest moneymaker in RS.... But that's a different topic.) Anyone who can make the ~110m required to get 99 construction, and also has the patience to get the 13m experience (which admittedly is easily as fast as any, with a max exp rate [quoting Tripsis again] of 100k per hour., definitely deserves the respect of having one of the most respectable skillcapes. Herblore can be very fast, and while it does rival construction, I believe that construction is more deserving of the title than herblore.
