  1. My biological Aunty is married to a man from Seria, he's Muslin and fit's none of the Muslim stereotypes which many seem to put every Muslim into the same bracket, when it's a very small minority who are extremists. what my uncle said to be is there is a verse in the Quran basically saying anyone who dies protecting the safety of Islam or who dies fighting to spread Islam will live on a higher plain in Paradise, but many extremists misinterpret this as if they go out and blow themselves up they'll live on a higher plain when simply this isn't true. Most extremists Muslims are disillusioned and taken advantage of. Doremember though that every religion has it's own sickening terrorists groups.
  2. Christian fundamentalism ftw :| I don't know how in any light or view any verse in the bible made him do that, unless he misinterpreted "An Eye for an Eye" crap.
  3. Very true. It's funny when someone tries to shoot at me from behind with a machine gun, but they only hit me once in the leg or something like that. I just turn around and kill them while they try to reload. #-o I love the arrogant kids, you know the guys who try and no scope you in the head from behind when you're sniping, only for you to turn around and knife them. Yep, and if you notice they're there screwing about (shadows for example) hold a grenade for the couple of seconds and don't release it, killing you both but makes the guy go "WTF????"
  4. I love how contradicting the Us constitution is, legally he's not an adult, not old enough to vote or purchase anything limited to adults yet he's being tried as an adult. You're either an adult or you're not, and the only thing which can call that within court is your countries constitution. I'd put this guy down under insanity or look further in to his living conditions with parents, my view on this is usual bias against games industry tabloid [cabbage]; Not looking into the background of his family at all or his living conditions, just pointing all blame to the games industry.
  5. But you do agree with using that land there to fire seemingly endless supplies of rockets across the border? If Hamas didn't abuse thier power and fire a bottomless stockpile of rockets into Israel, Israel wouldn't need to do things such as restrict movement, and they could make peace. You're still missing quite a simple message. Peace will never exist until the occupation of Palestinian lands stops. The troubles went on in Northern Ireland for nearly 80 years and didn't stop to the extent they're at now till the British army was withdrawn. While the Israeli's continue to occupy Palestinian lands and the Israeli army bases itself on occupied Palestinian lands peace will not exist.
  6. Camera phone, bluetooth it to computer, upload it and Bam, instant E-respect. You seriously don't need to screenie it just to prove to us that you're top of teams most times, it's not hard considering how many [cabbage] and unskilled little kids play the CoD games.
  7. Don't worry. 85% of this thread (at least) is pure and utter bullcrap. I think in my entire career I've had one student insult me ever and they regretted it. Don't want to sound Snobbish or Elitist but by any chance you teach in a private school? When I compare what happens in my school (private) with 2 schools (public) that my friends go to there's quite a difference in behavior.
  8. Slow metabolism isn't a reasonable excuse for being obese, just means you have to work harder. I'm not built for rugby, does that mean I have a valid excuse for being a poor player? No, just means I have to work harder. Don't blame your problem on a relatively minor issue, it's down to you putting in the work.
  9. boarder checkpoints isent indeed but the airspace and their water was an occupation then also remind that gaza isent a countrie most of palestine in the west bank is still occupied Israel has been very clear on their intentions. They will continue to attack/occupy as long as the attacks against their innocent civilians continue. The onus is now on the Palestinian people to stop. That's pure stupidity then by Israel. Many of the Palestinian people are still extremely bitter about what Israel did in the past and what it is currently doing. The attacks definitely wont stop soon until Israel leaves. How can they expect the attacks to stop when they attack innocent civilians quite oftenly while attacking Hamas and occupy foreign lands?
  10. There's quite a noticeable difference between "excess" meat and being clinically obese. As far as I'm concerned I'll agree with the City council, it's in the child's best interest that he/she is paired with the person who will statistically be reliable to last until they're 18. Obese people face so many life-threatening diseases that it simply isn't viable to place an adopted child within their care. Anyway, unless he has some form of physical disability it, it's completely his fault for being obese. No one to blame other than himself for not being allowed to adopt. In a typical lazy attitude he hits out at the council instead of agreeing to lose weight for his own health benefit but also for the child's own good.
  11. Own my own Private Island roughly about 10-15 acres big with a house designed on a Roman villa layout roughly somewhere off the coast of some mid-sized Caribbean Island.
  12. hell... usually they can't. Then why do things like SWAT or specially armed task forces exist? To outgun and outdo the enemy using severe firepower and intelligent tactics. Letting the public have access to better firepower than what is meant to protect us from crime and harm is pure stupidity.
  13. Where did God come from? I doubt he just appeared out of nowhere, quite like how you doubt what created the universe appeared out of nowhere. Both questions have no answers to a certain point, so both questions quite frankly are irrelevant.
  14. Again: When they agree to stop shooting rockets at us. Why should civilians have to die for the actions of a terrorist group? The most sickening thing is it seems you agree with killing innocent people till they stop firing rockets. How can you tell whose in HAMAS and just taking place in a civilian shelter and whose just a civilian? Anyway I read somewhere (I think it was here actually) they've been told to go to a shelter in the north of the Gaza Strip, which probably won't be shelled. But if it is, then Israel is going crazy. Infrastructure is torn to bits, the civilians are terrified completely and many wont even leave their homes. Yes, it is quite easy to travel all the way to Northern Gaza when the roads are impassable in many places and bombs are dropping quite regularly.
  15. Reb we're not going to be "left in the dust". The vast majority of Western European countries have some of the best economies in the world, modern and well performing educations systems and a qualified workforce with long life expectancy. The HDI says it all really, a report on countries various statistics required for development. In the top 20 countries listed, 15 were European. America placed 15th, meaning there's 11 European countries developing faster than it. Link = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Development_Index

  17. A big reason I don't like this as much as Modern Warfare is the maps, most of them are just too plain. :/ Yup, The maps are wayyy to plain and a lot more boring than Modern Warfare. The tanks have been and still are getting really annoying, in the maps theres hardly any good place to hide or snipe and the guns are not as fun. I really hope Call Of Duty 6 is better than this, but we have 11 months to go... :/ Infinity Ward know enough not too put tanks in. Well yes, could you imagine playing it online with Modern tanks to attack and Javelin missiles to deal with it? Seriously looking forward to CoD6 though.
  18. Well then I suppose very few of us can comment on the standard of many Middle Eastern, Asian or 3rd world countries and their standard of living since very few of us have ever lived in those countries. It's a pretty redundant statement.
  19. Points 2 and 3 aren't true at all, once extremely addictive drugs are sold eventually habits and addictions will form while the government wont let there be a constant stream of drug addicts buy dangerous and harmful drugs, controlled like you say. Therefore, when the addict can't get enough of it from government authorized places they will resort to illegal drugs dealers with even higher prices. Drug dealers are the least of my worries in terms of addictive drugs, stopping it coming in but also most importantly stopping crime from happening which results from many addictive drugs. Most terrifying experience of my life? Having 2 heroine addicts in withdrawal hold a dirty syringe to my neck while they stole my wallet, watch and phone to use for drug money. The day I see Heroine, Cocaine, Amphetamines etc legalized will be the day I lose faith in my government. I'm not ignoring the freedom stand point at all, you'd have to be idiotic to take Heroine full well knowing how addictive and harmful to your cardiovascular system it is. The freedom to take harmful drugs would impose so much on the many freedoms of the common citizen it's simply not worth it. By legalizing it, many will now feel their right to be safe, secure and free from fear threatened. I for one will always feel cautious around drug addicts, if I see someone taking non-recreational drugs I wont even walk near them, the vast majority (in Ireland anyway) are unpredictable and unsafe.
  20. Well, the express sucks for being unbiased and correct on what it's reporting so I wont really comment on the "clause". I will say though Howlin, it will be a very long time before Ireland will enter the Lisbon treaty until it actually starts suiting us and our country's policies. Out of curiosity, what part of Ireland are you from?
  21. Yes. Now excuse me while I shoot your plane down in flames. Good luck doing that while you're locked away in labour camp. Maybe if the people had had guns they would have been able to fight off the totalitarian fascist force opposing them. You do realise, if ONE shot was fired at the police the shooter would be shot dead without question, everyone knows through common sense, even if guns are carried by the common citizen the police will make sure they can outgun any enemy they face. Do you listen to yourself when speak such crap about the country slowly being turned into a fascist state? Ireland has a well trained army, an unarmed general public and quite a large government for such a small country yet were nowhere near becoming a fascist state, no one has fears of it happening and quite simply, it wont. It's the western world, it simply wouldn't be allowed and many countrys wouldn't allow it to happen to another country either. All of that aside though, the shooting was horrible and unjustified. I do have a small feeling though, the officer didn't intend to do such harm, could quite even be he accidentally shot the gun. Whatever the punishment is, he should face the full time granted to him, knowing what he will face in prison being a police officer. I hope he gets murder as a deterrent to officers to pull a gun in such a petty situation, while I do think though he'll get manslaughter considering he's a cop.
  22. It's been said by dozens of people before to you over and over again. Addictive drugs just can't be controlled, are dangerous and do much worse to society than what good they do, nothing more than a release for a couple of hours. There's a reason why many prostitutes, burglars and criminals are drug addicts, because it is the quickest and quite often easiest way for them to feed their habit before they go into withdrawal. I'm all for legalizing recreational drugs governmently controlled like Marijuana, MDMA, LSD etc but I'll always be extremely against Cocaine, Heroine and Amphetamines or other forms of highly addictive drugs. They do nothing positive for society, just lead to high crime rates.
  23. In my school if a fight was to occur it's whoever started it who faces the most crap, usually just ends in a shake hands and make up though. Bullies are cowardly and sadistic people. I'm not up for starting random fights, I like to fight but wont start random ones but if I see a bully picking on an easy target I'll have no problem hitting the bully if I'm asked to help. I always get an extremely happy feeling when I see a bully being beaten around by a helper or because he picked on the wrong kid
  24. Why act up over such petty [cabbage]? If a teacher calls you tubby, give him some abuse back. I like how friendly we are with teachers my school, if one slags me I'll slag him back and we'll laugh it off. Not complaining to the principal like a [bleep]ing girl
  25. How, though? For half this nation's life we've been isolationist - quite often sounds like a majority to me, you know. Until we finally gave in to help with World War I we stuck to ourselves, although you could say that the Spanish-American War began America's rise as being more involved. I think this whole debate is stupid, though. It's all "your country is stupid" versus "I think yours is". And from what I've seen, the population of Americans on this board is generally young, while Europeans are generally older. You can't really expect a good "debate" from that, eh? An example would be American diplomats basically bullying Iran into disarming any nuclear associated projects they had, while also trying to get the UN to sanction them. I don't see why America should be allowed possess it's own Nuclear weapons while it wont allow other countries. You might have been isolationist for quite a while, but for more than half a century you've been the most involved country in Modern warfare and for the last quarter of a century you've seemed to adopt the attitude that you police the world. How? The President doesn't approve every part of all military operations. He doesn't aim bombs that miss, or gather intelligence that's incorrect. How was he a terrorist? I agree it could have been handled better, but our invasion ended a genocide. I can't see why Iraqis would prefer a dictatorship to a democracy, but I suppose it had been forced on them. Ended a genocide? Not really, there's still the ongoing sectarian war with Shiites and Sunnis trying to wipe each other off through shootings, kidnappings and suicide bombings. You stopped Saddam killing people yet gave way to those who wanted to kill themselves. George Bush pushed forward the idea of Iraq repeatedly, he could of shown fierce opposition to it but instead showed full support and when he was denied permission by the UN he still went ahead with it, it was his sole decision and he still went ahead with it. WW2, the basic footsoliders weren't done for war crimes, people with power were. Even if George Bush never shot a rifle at an Iraqi, the blood is still on his hands to a certain degree.
