  1. Yes, bombing citizens areas with carpet bombs which are uncontrollable and unpredictable once detonated was a great idea. Definitely logic was used there, probably went on the 1/2 ratio, for every 1 person who posed a threat we can kill 2 civilians :| Or how about the Daisy Cutter bomb, with a blast radius 300 meters wide. Now, please define how 5 years ago, not so long ago, seemed logical at all? I believe you'll be hard pressed to.
  2. It's nowadays rising, during the time of the PIRA and RIRA they were of no comparison but nowadays in Republican areas of Dublin (Inner city, Ballymun, Darndale etc) you would notice a lot of "CIRA" signs". Not sure about the Northern Republicans. They have a lot of support from younger people (<30) who still feel strongly about Northern Ireland. If they stopped associating themselves with Drug dealing, extortion and kidnapping for income they'd gain much more support. Palestine is harboring Islamic terrorists due to their hate for Israel and also America for assisting Israel. If America never had assisted Israel then there would be a lot less leniency for terrorists in Palestine. People will obviously react like animals when they see their love ones killed, their homes and towns pillaged all by a foreign oppressing group of monsters. You could hardly expect them to sit back and "allow" it.
  3. ETA is quite unpredictable and was never really trusted within the peace agreement, think it was more of a positive publicity stunt than anything and realised they were no closer to freedom so they reinstigated their terrorism tactic. There is also talks of the Continuity IRA (CIRA) slowly rebuilding up as technically they never agreed to the Peace agreement, only the Real IRA (RIRA) and The Provisional IRA (PIRA) did.
  4. If you plan on doing Cardio and Weights you have a serious lack of Carbohydrates / protein / calories there. What's your diet for, weight loss, toning up, building up? If it's weight loss, try to avoid heavy carbohydrates / fats and stick more to cardio. If it's toning up you'll want carbohydrates / protein but not much fat with a mix of cardio and majority weights. If it's purely building up then stick to a mix of everything but watch your fat intake and focus on short sets of heavy reps. Edit: Just saw you're out to lose weight, stick to cardio with carbohydrates for energy, try to avoid fatty foods and find an exercise partner. Weights wont do much for weight loss, they're more for toning up.
  5. Yes he did that, but is carpet bombing cities such as Baghdad where many civilians were killed the right way about it? He gave them democracy, but he took way to many lives in the process.
  6. Explain to me the difference between Quebec and Tibet and why one deserves independence yet the other "needs to grow some balls"? Tibet taking on the Chinese military would be equivalent to the state of Rhode Island taking on the American military, which would be [developmentally delayed]ed. Scotland and Wales don't really need independence as they already do most of the running of their own countries but if the majority of the public wanted them no longer associated with England then they should be granted full rights to rule themselves. I'd support the freedom of Chechnya, what the Russian soldiers have often done in there is disgusting, raping woman and female children, pillaging villages, holding family members to ransom, killing the majority who couldn't afford the ransom. I'd also heavily support giving majority Catholic / Republican areas of Northern Ireland back to the Republic although you didn't mention that. If a country or area is forced to become a part of a oppressing country without their consent they deserve freedom no matter what.
  7. Damn, if only he had a gun. Props to the guy anyway, throwing a shoe at the most powerful person in the world.
  8. The difference being, there is proof that the universe happened by accident. The big bang has been proven, what came or happened before it is wild speculation. Either way what created our universe came out of nowhere, whether you believe in it being an all-powerful being or a series of different materials exploding and joining together. One just holds a bit more proof than the other.
  9. Or it could simply be we will all rot in the ground, and us Atheists will be in a way laughing for all the time you spent sitting in a church listening to someone go on and on about illogical contradicting crap. As Ging_Warr said, you're attitude is the exact reason why I hate a lot of the views shared by close minded Christians. There's hundreds of religions in the world, about 10 major ones. Give me one possible reason why there is more chance of the Christian god existing than say the Islamic god existing?
  10. How wasn't genesis right? Because it's been scientifically proven that the Earth is 2-3 Billion years old at least and was created when Dust and Debris of the big bang collided together, cooled and settled into the earth. Not God and his 7 days of illogical crap. Suppose that's probably the most contradictive statement to it, could find more.
  11. You're actually trying to tell me the world will end with angels swooping down, destroying everything, followed by a dragon? :| I go to a Catholic school, even they suggest that Revelations shouldn't be taken seriously, let alone many parts of the bible that don't involve Jesus... Uh, I think the Human Race will fall under medical terrorism. Trauma Center, anyone? Some Catholic school -.- OT: How can they/you say that parts of the Bible shouldn't be taken seriously? The Bible is consistent, and historically accurate... It was written over the span of 2000 years, and yet never contradicts itself? Many of the events can be confirmed with sources recognized by the historical community... So yea, if you wanna know the end of the Earth.... read Revelation 'nuff said You are being sarcastic right? It is extremely inconsistent, contradicts itself in so many ways and not even historically accurate for the majority of stories. Yes many of the events can be confirmed, but what happened at the event can't and never will be confirmed as their is no reliable evidence. We know Jesus attended a dinner, but we have no way of knowing if he really did turn water and bread into wine and fish. Logic will tell you it could never happen. I've been told by Catholic Jesuits priests, often considered the most intelligent and open of Catholic priests to never trust what is said in the old testament, as it completely contradicts itself, contradicts the new testament in many ways and utterly contradicts logic. Do you honestly think the world will end in Armageddon, where Angels will swoop down and save those who have believed in God and are suitable for heaven. Those who believe different or chose not to believe will spend the rest of eternity on Earth which has turned to hell? Yet supposedly god loved us all and will forgive us for our sins? Now there's a contradicting statement for you.
  12. I think within the next 50 years we will see quite a rise in Atheism as it seems to be a growing amount of people all the time. As the East also develops as well and develops a culture similar to the west I think they'll start taking much more of a questioning to their beliefs. Then again, Christianity was started by an angry carpenter with amazing Rhetoric skills and 12 friends. Who knows what could happen within 2000 years. I do think there will be a quite major church forming based on "secular humanism", you don't have to believe in a god for it to be a church / religion.
  13. Now that's a good point. I'm not sure, but in America isn't the divorce rate for Heterosexual marriages somewhere in the 40-50% bracket? Yet when Homosexual marriages are being discussed about legalization everyone wants to retain the "sanctity" of marriage. Considering then, 1 of 2 people who will argue this according to statistics will have their marriage fall apart, is that really a point you can argue with? IMO it's a load of hypocritical crap.
  14. 1. Halloween, nothing beats the combination of Roman candle wars, drink and bonfires  2. St. Patricks day, it's obviously enough [bleep]ing huge in Ireland, it's like an Irish christmas 8-) 3. Christmas, I used to love it as it was always a huge family celebration where everyone gathered at my Grannys / Grandad's house but now it reminds me of the passing of my granny, something I'll never get over. 4. EoS weekend, stands for End of School. Not an official weekend, but it's an amazing weekend, just when we finish up for summer holidays. That's about it IMO, nothing amazing about other holidays.
  15. Hello there Scottish pretending wanna-be noob Good to see you've realised, like myself this RL things pwn RS. Sorry to hear of the problems you're facing with college, eyesight and social interaction etc but such a nice guy as yourself should have no problems making friends When you quit an addiction you need something to fill in the void you pick up a social club sport to spend time with friends, anything like Football, Rugby, Mountain Biking etc is amazing and good fun :D Anyway, enjoy college, they're supposed to be the best years of your life, don't let them go to waste. Luv ya
  16. No I wouldn't. My view is, we only have a set amount of years to live and make the most of it. Me, I'm a smoker and a heavy "social" drinker, TBH I highly doubt I'll live past 70 so I've got a short compared to others time amount to live life what it is for. I'll live every day till the end, life is about taking risks and seeing the good / bad from these risks as no other way will be fun. Why take life seriously? No one gets out alive. My saying which I live by. I don't care how much money I make or how well I do as long as I enjoy life as at the end of the day it will mean [bleep] all when I'm dead.
  17. It was more than "one" priest, it was hundreds within Ireland. My dads involved in the Redress board, which pays compensation to those sexually abused within government institutions from the 50's till the late 70's. So far the Catholic church has payed in 1.6 Billion euros for their "share" of the abuse, my dad said though they're getting away with a little payment as most involved were Catholic clergy. They're hardly going to get positive publicity for being sickening monsters now would they?

Leinster lost to Castres, WTF? We beat them 30-3 at home last time, now we lost to them 18-15. All their points came from penalties which is [developmentally delayed]ed. There goes the chance of a home QF for the Heiniken cup. Anyone else see the game?
  19. RichieMcD replied to Flamewhisker's topic in Off-Topic
Been playing it for the last 5 years. The school I go to is the 2nd best Rugby school in Ireland so it's obviously huge in my school. Support Leinster Rugby, we haven't done anything amazing but this could be the year, we got an amazing couple of young players coming through, Cian Healy, Luke Fitzgerald, John Sexton etc. Play 2nd center / Winger. It's my favorite sport, IMO nothing beats it for watching as it's physical and constant, something rarely seen in a lot of sports. Nothing beats the feeling of a dump tackle, or the face of an opponent afterwards
  20. Sleep deprivation quite often has the same effects of Alcohol consumption. After 24 hours you'll become slow, unsteady and your motor skills are lessened. As you go longer it's like drinking more, you'll start to sway, slur your words, reactions are lessened etc. If you made sure you didn't sleep your vital organs would eventually shut down and you'd die of heart attacks / various organ failures.
  21. Couple of guys did that in my friends school for a end of school prank, except....it was onto a 2 story building  . They built the ramp bit by bit every night for 2 weeks in a park beside the school so it could be easily put together, like giant lego. All it took was 10 minutes to put it together. They had robbed his keys and copied them so they drove it up and parked it there. Then ran off with the ramp leaving no trace of it. A serious "wtf" moment for half the school  They had to get a crane in to remove the car. Nobody ever got caught
  22. I highly doubt such a reputed and well known store would do that to a 14 year old. Maybe some back street shop would but not a well known branch / franchise.
  23. What I meant by momentum is fighting momentum, not a kick which relys on momentum. What I mean further by "fighting momentum" is getting 4-6 good shots in without 1 returned to you, that's momentum and it's much easier to keep going when you have momentum. Ruining an opponents momentum will frustrate them and lead to them making stupid decisions (from personal experience anyway). Someone who relys on momentum for a punch or kick in a fight is a [developmentally delayed] and it's incredibly easy to put them on their [wagon].
  24. Exactly, many people wont even hold a view of their own, they'll take their churches stance on it yet most don't even know from what area of the Bible the church builds that stance. Ignorance at it's greatest. Taking the churches stance on it because they're scared of "Hell". Fear and Ignorance combined.
  25. If he relies on kicking, then throw him off balance mid-kick when the situation if available. Good luck on the fighting, ruining an opponent's momentum is what has always worked for me.
