Blue charms
If you're going to farm charms, I suggest farming crimsons, not blues. Waterfiends can be an economic method, and bursting rock lobsters is great xp and charms. Don't even try bursting them right now, though, because they're quite busy. After xp weekend they should die down. Until then, maybe try waterfiends.

"quick kill" ability. <NEW QUESTION>
That, Sir, is a useful bit of information that has convinced me to buy the ability. :-)

Shattered Heart Discussion
Can someone confirm: The previous posts make it sound like it is 1 week from the date you completed your last statue that you can complete another. Is this right? It's not technically once a week, then, but a week from your last completion? Thanks.

Ape Atoll doesn't give them, IIRC. I didn't think they did... mainly wanted to dispel the rumors referenced above. EDIT: Does anyone know if extreme pots work?

Shattered Heart Discussion
Ran a few laps at Ape Atoll a little bit ago... no stone, and when I asked others running there they said it didn't yield one. :-(

Shattered Heart Discussion
That would make sence IF everything gave the rocks, but some activities dont give them at all. Thats my only issue with this update. I dont get why some activities give the rock while others dont. From the FAQ on RSOF it seems to be applied to things that could get you a rock. Eg Nets and Cages CAN drag rocks up from the ocean, fishing rods etc can't Floor level agility obstacles can turn up rocks, ones up in the air can't Concentrated ore doesn't because its concentrated eg compacted so the statue wuld be distorted With this logic in mind most of them make sense as to what will and won't give. A few are a bit wtf though. How do they explain that some Agility courses yield rocks and not others? That's one thing I think should be changed/fixed. You're right, though, that most of them make some sense.

Shattered Heart Discussion
Can anyone tell me if the methods for obtaining rocks that they have listed in the Shattered Hearts RS article are the ONLY ways to obtain rocks. For instance, can I get some by running Ape Atoll's agility course, or by smelting gold, or by making unstrung bows strung, etc.? If you've had a method work that was not listed, please list it.

Shattered Heart Discussion
For those with 99 in these skills it's just plain annoying if we want the final reward. And these bonuses really aren't that great at all at higher levels. Getting 9703 xp at 99 is pathetic, but getting a few k at mid 70 is alright I guess. Well if you want something you have to work for it. If you enjoy the distraction then the reward will not matter. I see no reason for anybody to not like the length of the distraction. I just think its doubtful many people will switch between skills 30 times to get the reward. Champion scrolls were different because you were trainning the same thing, and the exp wasn't so bad. I will. This is the first time I've been so glad that I don't have a single non-combat skill over 90! :-) Hippodo: Bacon or the Masters of the Universe?

Surely the exp is a good enough reward? I'm quite happy it is a very long process in completing the statue, it means it is actually an achievement. My thoughts exactly, Danq.

Nice pics, Crimson! Does anyone know if blackjacking Menaphite thugs works for obtaining pieces? Never mind, I can confirm it DOES.

Knowledge Base Finds...?
Seriously, I never knew this... What all classifies as a "boss npc"? Or is that what the crew member is researching...?

Shattered Heart Discussion
Has anyone received one while cooking Monkfish? I've been at it awhile now... EDIT: Just got one from cooking monks, so that question is answered. Move on to #2: Also, are we able to get rocks doing Ape Atoll or not? I'm not sure if the list they gave for Agility was complete or just a sampling...

Shattered Heart Discussion
I've never looked into it, but is making flatpacks a viable option for construction training? I believe someone mentioned that they were training it previously with that and a pack yak. Also what about making teleport tabs? Might have to sit around for 10sec or something to reach a minute each time though. In theory both are possible options (though i never use these for con-skilling), though still annoying because the rock will appear near the portal and not in my inventory.. But hey, I just got my 2nd stone after nearly 2 hours... :wall: You could also offer bones on your altar for a while and then just sit around until after a minute or two... not a great idea, but it's another one if the others don't interest you. I personally got mine in ~10 mins of walking in and out of my portal with some waiting.

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
I'd be happy if they added in the elite diaries this week... I'm trying to keep my hopes low so as to be pleasantly surprised.

MTK and spirit seeds
Here's a BIG tip: Don't collect every week, but every 2-3 weeks, although you should keep your favor high and add cash if you run low in the coffers (don't go below 750k. I believe you'll find you get better results with Spirit seeds than if you were to collect every day or every week for a month. I would expect it to take well over a year to get 50 more, though.

Dust Devils
Not bad advice, but I wouldn't take a fire staff if you're picking up the fire runes they drop (which add up quite a bit. Good luck on your goal.

Focus Sight drop rate and Desert Strykewyrm setup
I think this is right on. Also, I got two focus sights out of two similarly-sized tasks last weekend, but I think I had three dry tasks of them before that. That's only a small sample, though, and I was probably lucky. I would guess it's comparable to the Abyssal whip drop rate.

fairy ring to (prayer) altar
true, but you can only use the ardy cloak once a day. You're thinking of the teleport to the Ardy north farm patch. Tele to the monastery is unlimited. :-) It's what I use. To the OP: you could use Ardy monastery for prayer recharge and then Slayer ring to Relleka caves-->Fairy rings. Just another idea...

Wolpertinger Questions
That's probably why they both can be added on to the Slayer helm. No he means tasks such as Hellhounds, Blue Dragons etc. The helms make no difference on these tasks but the original slayer helm does. So is this a glitch that they are going to fix, or do we know for sure?

Circus Question about XP
So after 50 views and no replies, this either isn't an interesting question, or people don't know. I guess my personal experience seems to indicate that failing doesn't get you the same xp. I normally get 20k + in magic xp, but I got less than that, this time. I just hadn't paid much attention before...
-
Wolpertinger Questions
So obviously I'll just use the Wolper to boost then, as that's cheaper than extremes... but it WILL stack with a SoL and a hexcrest, right?
-
Wolpertinger Questions
So I'll have 92 Summoning by this week, maybe in a couple days. I have questions about the Wolpertinger: 1. Is it a better fighter than the Geyser Titan? 2. Boost is visible, correct? How many levels is it? 3. Do scrolls work on headgear? 4. Does boost stack with extreme magic potions or is it used in lieu of them? If it does stack, do all of these levels give extra damage (I think it's +3% damage per level)? 5. Do the boosts in #3 (either of them or both) stack with weapon bonuses (i.e. +15% from SoL)? What about my full slayer helm? Essentially, what's the max bonus I can get if I want to Mage-Slay? 6. Anything else I need to know about them? Thanks for the help. Hopefully some experience wolper-users can respond. :-)

Ice strykerwyrms and the removal of the Fire cape requirement
Hyldrick, here's the tip that really helped me, would help you, and probably would help anyone who actually wants to tackle the Caves without getting to Jad just to "practice": Go to YouTube. Search for Jad + Ult Combo Follow his VERY helpful guides (including the Jad one that basically allows you to practice prayer-switching since the video can be clicked without stopping it). Do this for several minutes, and you'll already have built a new level of confidence. Trust me. I just wish I'd found this before attempting the caves several times already! Regarding the original post, I found it very insightful. Thank you for the read. I, too, hope that Jagex will continue to include rewards that overlap various aspects and skills of the game. I find the notion that they should always remain separate to be kind of silly.

Fire cape compromise. New post by Mod Chris L.
I think the big question this discussion leads to is this: Should Jagex be building their games around players with unreliable Internet connections or poorly trained reflexes? Of course not. This is highly illogical in the gaming world, period. Also, there is no history of Jagex doing this in the past, so why start doing so now? Personally speaking, as someone whose Internet connection lags often (and it does so anytime I attempt Fight Caves), I have to say that I really hope Jagex won't limit themselves like this in the future. If they do, they'll be tying their own hands against making truly elite combat updates. All the best gear in the game will likely forever have to be tradeable so that people with poorly trained reflexes or unreliable connections can obtain it. Now, after several tries, I finally got a fire cape in the last week and a half of working at it. (Aside: My reflexes, which stunk at first, were very noticeably trained in the process.) Afterward, and the same day I got the cape, I found out these changes were to be made. I've gotten over the fact that all my hard work wasn't worth it now, that they are catering to poorly developed reflexes and/or Internet connections with this "fix". Honestly, though, it will be depressing if the game developers have to be restrained by these least common denominators in the future, and they simply shouldn't be.
