  1. Many schools are on spring break around me in my region of the USA. I think it would be a fine time to release the new skill, but I've been doubtful. I like the idea that Mod Emilee has taken the week off so that she can be the first to reach 99 on her choob account. :)
  2. LOL @ Omali! OT: Not really excited about another Fishing update, so I hope they're trying to throw us off. Doubt it, though; I expect a Fishing update.
  3. Maybe Mod Emilee took the week off so that she can be the first in the race to the new 99! [/silly and wishful thinking] I hope this doesn't mean it's a new update week.
  4. Red sallies, no question.
  5. I actually find the RC rocks to be quite fast. The last two times I've obtained them have taken maybe 5-7 minutes each.
  6. I can confirm that as well. I also noticed that the rock appears near the portal, not under your feet. I was helping a friend use his prayer brawlers, so I was standing near my alter and I noticed a red dot appear near my portal, which was a rock. Happened for both of them. Construction rocks always appear in the exact same square. Coincidentally, this is the same square where you appear after walking through your house portal. I like to think that a magic leprechaun stands right outside my portal and decides to throw in the stone when my luck is right.
  7. What if you changed it again? Would it then say that you were last known as your current display name? Don't know if this would make you happier or not, just a thought...
  8. I think this might be a good replacement over the coif for ranging in F2P, due to its all-roundedness. Not exactly sure, though. I think you're talking about two different helms (the 300 quest point one vs. the drop).
  9. Thank you! I also was having this problem after the latest Firefox update.
  10. All courses have been added but its explicitly for completing a lap of now (other than brimhaven which is per 10 tickets) to me that reads as a clear no obstacle hopping you have to do do the course/game Not ALL courses. I do believe the penguin course is excluded. Rocks don't like to pop out of the ice, apparently. ;-)
  11. Thank you for the advice. I will do that until I can boost to 85. Can you take a Terrorbird familiar on the Advanced Gnome Course (special move gives +2 Agility). When you mentioned Advanced Dorgesh-Kaan, did you mean Advanced Barbarian, or the Agility side of Dorgesh-Kaan? Thanks again!
  12. Where can this be found? Patch Notes. Then see the KB page for Shattered Heart for more info.
  13. 45 views, no replies... Only one question now, since Agility rocks can now be obtained from basically every course. :-D
  14. What pleased me most this week was the changes made to Shattered Heart Agility rocks... :-) I'll do the quest later, but no desire for it at the moment.
  15. Some new controls need to be made, I agree. The disparity in difficulty of collecting agility and hunter to rocks like mining and firemaking is ridiculous. This is a process which should reward diligence, reliability, and faithful, steady play. Instead, right now it rewards bug / glitch abuse with things like the runecrafting single ess effort and agility rock practices. They already changed single-runecrafting last week. It no longer gives a benefit over crafting your inventory-full but is actually slower now. Also, today's patch notes say this: Added the chance of getting strange rocks from a few places that were missing it. Wondering what those are... (Ape Atoll, please!! ) EDIT: Here is what the knowledge base now says are the ways to obtain rocks. Looks like only completing courses now gives rocks for Agility, but I like that they added the courses! Only took me 3 or 4 laps to get my second Agility rock. They still need to change Construction rocks, IMO: * Agility: Completion of the following courses: o Tree Gnome Stronghold course (basic or advanced). o Agility Pyramid course. o Barbarian Outpost course (basic or advanced). o Ape Atoll course. o Wilderness course. o Werewolf course. o Bandos' Throne Room course. o Dorgesh-Kaan course. o Brimhaven Agility Arena (one chance per 10 tickets) * Cooking: Cooking fish. * Construction: Visiting your house for at least a minute while not in build mode. * Crafting: Making gold jewellery; making items from leather or dragon hide. * Farming: Harvesting vegetables, hops, herbs or flowers. * Fletching: Making unstrung bows or crossbow stocks. * Fishing: Fishing with any net or cage. * Firemaking: Lighting a fire using any logs and a tinderbox. * Herblore: Combining unfinished potions with secondary ingredients, not including barbarian mixes. * Hunter: Tracking; checking box and deadfall traps; practising falconry. * Mining: Mining ore, coal, clay or stone. * Runecrafting: Crafting runes. * Smithing: Smelting normal ores; smithing items from normal ores. * Thieving: Picking pockets. * Woodcutting: Cutting any wood or ivy; training at the sawmill.
  16. I don't believe netting works for hunter at the moment, although hopefully they change that...
  17. Just wanting to make sure there's not a better alternative out there for Agility training from 77 to level 81 or 82. At that point it seems better to pot/pie up for Advanced Gnome. Dorgesh-Kaan should be avoided altogether, I guess? Question #2: What's the best complete course to use when I want to get Shattered Heart pieces? Thanks in advance!
  18. I would think so, and I would stay away from doing it.
  19. I beat that. I got both within 1 second of each other, I was watching my inventory, and boom boom. However, I don't think they were trying to make these something that you skill just to get. That being said, any kind of training should get them, eg net hunting for hunter rock, etc. And shephard, that is irrelevant. It still has a certain "chance" to appear. What you said is similar to comparing the DR of a rune med to a dragon plateleg at steels. Sure, they are RNG drops, but one is far more common then the other. I don't think it's irrelevant. Reading through the thread, many people seem to think that one skill will always take a long time and other skills will take a short time. I'm just saying that's not the way it is. I got both hunter rocks in 5 minutes once and both agility rocks in 10. I've also had them both take hours. These "rare" drops are not always so rare, I would wager.
  20. Just wanting to insert a comment that getting the stones is based off of the Random Number Generator (RNG). Mod Maz has stated such in her thread about Shattered Hearts. In other words, don't expect a certain skill to always be "slow" or "fast." For example, Hunter took me just five minutes the first week, but a couple hours last. It's normal to have very varied amounts of time. You've just got to be patient and keep training. Training the skill is some of the benefit as well. Not that I don't think some of the skills couldn't be updated with different methods... (Looking at you, Ape Atoll course and POH!)
  21. 89-97 Summoning (didn't expect to get that far, was hoping for 96!). :-) I almost have enough for 98 when I switch back from Herblore for green and gold pouches. 89-90 Herblore. A question I've never had to consider before: Do most 96+ Summoners just make yaks to 99? Should I even use my golds and greens? Trying to decide whether to slay or train Agility with the rest of the weekend. Any advice? (90 Slayer and 75 Agility.)
  22. I was thinking the same thing. Seems like it would be within the next 24 hours, since I don't know that anyone completed all 30 of the original pieces in just a couple of hours. If they had, it could be tonight yet.
  23. Well, if you consider that you have a chance to get a Strange rock once per "click" of whatever skill you're getting (one swing of your pickaxe, one log burnt, etc.) it does make sense that the 1-by-1 Runecrafting method is best. Crafting an entire inventory of ess/pess at once is only "one click" for the skill, while if you drop the entire inventory and craft them one at a time, that's 28 individual chances to get it. Well you'd think that, but at zmi altar you get the rock in between (!) different stacks of runes, so for example: nat, body, rock, blood, air, etc. This implies the rocks chance is based on the amount of essence instead of the amount of crafts. I failed to take a pic of the 2 rocks ive gotten through zmi, but it was like this both times. I'm not saying this is *true* I'm just saying it's to be considered :P Also: theres a bug with smelting gold ore, you can't get the rock with a full inventory atm. Crafting one essence at a time is now slower than crafting all at once: 15-16-917-60500468, see Mod Maz's post on page 154. She also comments on pages 137 and 152 of the same thread. Hopefully we'll see some more good changes in the future. Apparently we'll have to wait until the system update next week for any other changes, although maybe bonus xp weekend will require an update?
  24. the guy who made shattered hearts is also the head dev for elite diaries shattered heart <-> varrock elite diary anyone? I don't think he's that sadistic. So far, all diary requirements were a quick "do X". With one day wait MAX for some of the skills because it required waiting. Even quests can be completed instantly if you set your mind to it. Waiting 30 weeks isn't skill though. 183/183 kudos might be. I wouldn't be surprised if 183 Kudos are required for Elite Varrock Diary. The Hard one already requires 153. By the way, I'm pretty sure Mod Maz is a she, not a he. ;-)
