  1. I think it's highly ironic that the most well-received update wasn't supposed to be an update at all - it was completely unintentional. The whole new Bandos deal seems to be very popular among various forums, and I'm not sure that JaGex will change it back...
  2. The Bandos update was confirmed to be unintentional: Shame that I just built a Large Fountain [requiring, count them, TWO marble blocks] yesterday, and now I'll have to take it down, to preserve my house's general shape. I'm sort of OCD about symmetry :S
  3. Interesting find on the RSOF: Quick Find Code: 15-16-420-59240725
  4. K'ril Tsutsaroth I believe, level 650. The highest non-boss monster would be the Ourg Statue - level 200 -, assuming that you consider dragonbreath to be non-melee. Black demons are level 172, which would put them up there as well.
  5. This is the problem I see with rampant reporting. If a player's actions are not DIRECTLY affecting you, and are against the rules, I really see no reason to report the player. I say let Jagex deal with it, by themselves. It's of no consequence to you whether or not these players get banned. Like people have said, it's their money, their time [sort of...], and their experience of the game. What I don't get is why players choose that spot, like a spot with a whole bunch of through-traffic. There are a lot of other places with monsters similar to spiders that haven't seen a player in years it seems.
  6. Does anybody know if that same PvP update that makes you 'in combat' applies to monsters as well? So if I'm, say, attacking a Chaos Dwarf in the Wild - the area is NOT multi - will anybody be able to attack me, even if I'm using a safespot...?
  7. The problem is, is that once some aspect of smithing - or any skill that turns raw materials into usable goods - loads of people do it, and, heightens the supply, while at the same time, lowering the demand. They pay more and more for the raw goods, since for many, experience is worth more than gold, and then sell for less and less, to beat out any potential competition. And especially with smithing, where that usable good doesn't degrade, and hardly ever 'exits' the game. Just supply and demand. :l It sucks, but I don't think there's really any viable way to bring smithing 'back'.
  8. Source: viewtopic.php?f=180&t=782800 Source: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=794822&start=0 Using Trevor's number per chin: If you're going for 99, that's like 61k gray chins. If you're only going for 85, that would be 3.3k or so. Using Bladewing's: 99: 50.5k 85: 2.8k Hope that all made sense and helped a bit.
  9. Well, I just recently broke the 1800 Total Level marker. Big deal, right? Haha, I guess so. I usually don't post stuff like this, but I figured, I most likely won't get 1900, so this might be my last real opportunity for something like this. So I said, 'What the heck' And here I am. I didn't get the actual level up message, so boohoo. [Just fyi, it was 73 fishing :S] And as most of you can see, I pretty much only slayed when I was a member. Not much else, other than that. Got 85 the day my membership expired, so I haven't been able to try my luck at Abyssal Demons. Oh yeah, don't hate because I have cooking. I'm too nub to get anything else, obviously :] And my bank. Just recently became a freeplayer again, so I pretty much sold everything. And I used to be actually wearing the Morrigan's/Zuriel, but I decided to alch in hotspots, and hopefully make it all back with that 26k trick. Now, please don't eat me because I said I trick. [And again, just fyi, i looked pretty darn nifty, if I do say so myself] And I'm not going to do any of that rate/hate crap. Just say what you want to say, if you want to say it I guess. :]
  10. Yeah, just shoot me a pm if you're interested. +/- 10 levels or so? Thanks. b9sully
  11. That's roughly 393k flax spun... ~33.8m in profit. Holy cow. That's all I can say. Congratulations on 92! only 393k more flax to go! :] Actually, it's 434k more flax, but don't get discouraged.
  12. Ah, I always hated AP World... Interesting class - bad teacher. But anyways. Just a few comments. The telescope was actually invented in roughly 1608. Still during your timeline, but just not in the 1500's as you said. Yeah, real nitpicky, but still :] Are you suggesting that there were no books in Medieval Times? The cloistered monks were famous for their tedious transcription/translation of manuscripts. And yes, some were bound. As a student in AP World History, you surely have learned of the Silk Road. This trade route was apparent during Roman times, and very much so a "Global Trade Network." Tad bit before the Renaissance. The entire Al Kharid/desert region has a certain Arabic influence, wouldn't you agree? Arabs were famous for their knowledge, and value of it. The oldest founded university - as decided by Guiness - was the University of Al Karaouine in Fez - very much Arabic, in 859. There have been religious wars for as long as religion has existed. The Battle of Tours is one such example, in 732. I'm sure there were kings who ruled directly over his peasants/work force. And plus, what do you think the population of Runescape is? 500? And that's including all the furry little creatures. I do agree with you though on your overall assumption - Runescape being in the Renaissance/Enlightenment. Though like other people have said, it's sort of a sick, twisted version, with not everything being there that should. And yeah, hate to be so picky, but some of your arguments just didn't add up. But again, kudos to you. :]
  13. Um, what is up with the new hairstylist refusing to cut your hair if you're wielding anything...? Maybe this has been the case for a while now, but this is the first time I've experienced it. I'm trying to figure out what the reasoning behind this change is. Why would Jagex purposefully spent time and recode this, so that you can no longer hold a sword (or shield for that matter!) while getting a quick trim-up? Grr... I'm mad because I'm a freeplayer, with a dragonfire shield equipped...Yeah, sucks to be me.
  14. Incredible. I don't know how else to put it. What is it, like 2 hours per cat? 1,100 x 2 hours = 2,200 hours = 91.7 days. Holy... Maybe I have the numbers mixed up, but still. One helluva long time.
  15. Maybe you should make more guides on how to get Elixirs :] And, by the way, the word is coincidental, not ironic. There's a difference.
  16. Mithril is your really your only plausible option. Adamantite loses ~50gp per bar I believe, and mithril MAY turn a little profit. Have you considered the Blast Furnace? Making mithril bolts, I think you profit ~130gp per bar. While it does take longer than making plates, you're profiting.
  17. I believe you're referring to an exponential curve... A log curve's slope decreases to ~1 as the graph approaches infinity. But you are right, it's surprising at how the word gets around... It always surprises me at how people must figure out some of these glitches/bugs... I'm sure some of them came about on accident, but other ones just seem way to complex for that. Like the BH Safe - I believe that was using forced teleports, but I really have no idea how that exactly works D:
  18. Hack me! Me next! I call dibs! Seems sort of weird. But I guess playing on a higher level account is generally more fun than on a low leveled one.
  19. The Grand Exchange introduced investing into the Runescape economy. Beforehand, it was ridiculous to buy items, hoping that they would go up. People didn't invest, they merchanted. Now, with the GE database and all, in addition to price limits, investing has become mainstream. People see a minute change in price due to whatever, and then they either buy, buy, buy, or they see a small drop, and sell, sell, sell. This causes severe fluctuations that wouldn't have happened before all of the GE was introduced. As others have said, in the past, you were not paying only for the materials, but also the service of collecting the material. Now, the vast majority of trading is done via the GE, thus eliminating the time required to gather materials.
  20. If I remember correctly, you need to get your generic spirit shield blessed with a holy elixir before you can attach the individual sigils to the shield. Congrats on the big drop. I want to see an actual shield and its stats :o
  21. Link to video of prayer leak: Isn't my video - Sorry about the fuzziness. But you can see that it's called 'Resistance of Seren' requiring 80 prayer and the completion of Mourning's End III.
