Same question as "Does an omnipotent being have the power to make itself no longer omnipotent?" Obvious answer is yes, but why would it ever want to?

US government repeals DADT
they have the ability to get married though. Also some other unique issues that they made special exceptions for, say if a women gets pregnant during her time in the military she can leave if she wants with an Honorable Discharge. Something they dont offer males. I have no reason to believe that homosexuals wont get similar special treatment to accommodate them as well I'm all for pregnant men to be allowed leave.

Crazy man shoots at school board
When a gun is pointed at your face, you put your hands up, and hope the other people in the room have guns. If the security guard didn't have a gun, you think we'd be talking about a happy ending?

The F2P General Discussion Thread
Yesterday was keying a large f24 because I was bored of mining. Had one dragoon and a leech in there. We got to the end of the dungeon, no more rooms could be unlocked. I asked if anyone had any keys.... silence. Fair enough, one of the members that had 93 mage was away, eating. Last room we *could* unlock required 91 magic. 10 minutes after I asked repeatedly if anyone had keys, I check through my teammates inventory to see what they had / needed. Some idiot had 3 of the 4 keys of doors locked in the dungeon. I called him out on it, asked him to tele home and drop them. Ignored me for another 5 minutes, until I threatened to kick him unless he gave me the keys. Turns out the boss was behind one of those, and he prevented us from ending 20 minutes earlier than we could've.

Googlebombing Ranking TIF #1 [Runescape]

Or he missed his target by a couple of inches. Military veteran doesn't mean squat if he isn't practiced with the gun he's using, or if he hasn't used a handgun in a while. Besides, what else would his wife say? Yeah, he's a raving lunatic and I love him? Did you see the range he was at? I take it you've never fired a firearm. Hell even with a pellet gun I could have hit the guy in the head point blank range rofl.. If he's fired guns much he shouldn't have missed all 3 shots.. And I was only going by his military background, not his wife's opinion. Unless she's lying about him being a military veteran. That guy looks like he's many years removed from the military, judging by his girth. Also, I'm reasonably confident if you go out, buy a gun, and aim and shoot at something, even at 20 feet you'd likely miss it by 2. Its hard to tell what he's aiming at laterally, but vertically its very clear that he's shooting at their level. Also, from the looks of it he very well could be inebriated. Most people aren't very coordinated when they're not sober... Is it beyond belief that he got liquored up before he made this decision? Finally, last point. The only shot he really "missed" was his first shot. That's the only point in time where he had a clear, unobstructed target and wasn't hassled by gunfire. His next shot was at the ground, and his final three were at people underneath the table while he was getting shot at. A miracle none of the board members were injured.- Crazy man shoots at school board

Alright, changed it. Going off the other list. If I had ridiculous amounts of money, I'd buy a 2011 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. 638 hp, 205 mph top speed. And the interior is pretty sweet, I hear. http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-zr1/ Starting at a bargain $111,100.- Crazy man shoots at school board
Did you even watch the same video that I watched!?!!!? Not intending to hurt anyone means raising the gun straight up then shooting.... Pointing a gun at someone and firing three times shows pretty clear intention. The fact that he missed doesn't change his intent, it just means he's a lousy shot. He pointed it lower than the guy, shooting only to scare, then shot it again in the air, before being shot by the guard. After being shot by the guard, he had a moment of panic where he did appear to point and shoot, but that was because he had been forced into a panic. You don't try to aggravate a mentally unstable man. I would also like to point out that the security guard was a trained professional, while the members of the audience were not. He was hired for the purpose. Do you have eyes? Watch the video again. He clearly raises the gun, lowers it and aims AT the superintendent, then shoots. Not above, not below, AT. I think he must have shot wide right, because the papers on the desk fly off after the bullet flies over. If he shot low originally, you'd see the table's front shatter into a million pieces. His second shot wasn't aimed at all, and it looks like it would have hit the floor. THEN the security guard shoots at him, and the perpetrator ducks and gets off three more shots (where he thinks the board members are) before the security guard shoots again. If the security guard had aim, he would've shot him in a vital spot (like the head or the chest) the first time to end the situation faster.- If I had a million dollars....
Changed the title... although I'm guessing there will be lots of people that don't read the first post and just go at it. Might change it if that happens. But until then... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHacDYj8KZM- Crazy man shoots at school board

Pointing a gun at someone and firing three times shows pretty clear intention. The fact that he missed doesn't change his intent, it just means he's a lousy shot. In my scenario, if all ten people had guns, do you honestly think they'd all stand equal distance from each other in a circle and shoot at him? I'd like to think everyone would show a little more common sense than that. You know that the situation ended when the crazy got shot in the shoulder by the security guard? Also, talking about "increasing the risk to innocent bystanders" is ridiculous. They already have a gun pointed at them, how much more risk can there be? Maybe if he fired at them three times? Wait, no, he did that. Also, taking those measured risks is what makes people, like the security guard, heroes.- Crazy man shoots at school board
He'd probably point his gun at me or the other guy, yell "drop the weapons," and being a rational person I would. The other guy wouldn't, which is how he'd know who the aggressor is. Unless the other guy did comply, which is pretty far into a hypothetical, in which case the situation would be over and I'd have to explain myself. This guy clearly has the intention to harm others, posing a clear and imminent danger, and it warrants action. Using force that incapacitates this person is necessary for the safety of others. I'm not trampling on any of his rights - he gave them up the moment he became a threat.- What book are you currently reading?
Sixth book was too dark for me. Didn't like the fifth either, seemed like Rowling lost her touch. Was disappointed in the third when ... forget it. No more spoilers here. Anyhow, fourth and first seemed the most magical. I think the dark, intense aspects of the book are why I did like it :P Rereading 1-3 they just seem so much like childrens' books. Maybe they are more magical but the fact that they seemed to be directed at a much younger audience made them less interesting to me. Its like she's tossing my childhood out the window with 5-7.- What book are you currently reading?

You know that in around schools are dedicated "Gun free zones"... 1000 foot buffers where its illegal to carry a firearm. That frivolous law didn't stop this guy from carrying a gun in, but I bet it stopped everyone else (law abiding citizens). If every one of those board members and people in the audience had a gun, this f---er wouldn't have got a shot off. Bet that didn't occur to you  . That 'f---er' was an unstable person. That doesn't make him any less of a person, it just makes his judgements likely to be unsound at the time. It does not by any means give you a right to point a gun at, or even shoot, him. When you reduce people to the point that you make it ok for them to be killed or threatened to be killed by another person, for any reason, it's very easy to descend into terrible consequences. It disturbs me a lot that so many people still have this mentality. If I was there, and I had a gun, I would have no problem shooting him to save the board members. Killing him would not be my intention, saving everyone else would be my intention. If he died by my hand because of that, its an unfortunate consequence, but not my intention. His rights as a person went straight out the window as soon as he threatened others. You'll notice that the situation ended when the security guard shot him and the SWAT team moved in. We need more people like the security guard.- Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...

Rather that turn this into a gun law debate, I'd like to point out two key things: 1. The man's wife was fired several months ago, from a teaching position from the school district. He was either fired or laid off several months ago too. The reason he said he was there was because her benefits had run out. 2. The man was pissed off the school board DIDN'T raise the sales tax. He felt that if they had, his wife would have still had her job. He might've drawn that "V", except he's not "anti-government", he's very "pro-government" (wanting higher taxes and wanting his wife to have a government job). Last thing, major props to the Superintendent. He showed some real courage keeping this lunatic calm just long enough for the security guard and SWAT team to show up. Its a miracle no one got hurt.- 14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
Anyone else hate that when you're looking from a top down perspective, the hit splats appear over your opponent's HP bar? Wish Jagex would move it about 30 pixels lower.- If I had a million dollars....
You should've posted that in the other thread when headphones were the item ;-) . This thread is "What would you own, if you had the money" I know that headphones and earbuds aren't high on people's list, so I'll change the item when this thread idles.- What are your goals for 2011?
