  1. ...while on a boat, F7 has a use. anyway, I think that the skill screen is already cramped. If they did 99|99 and added a scroll option and put the total lvl at the top of the skill inter face, it would work. and, as I see the beginning of a slayer discussion, please visit thread titled "the stupidity of summoning" for my suggestion. second to last page I think.
  2. The polls aren't taking anything away from your precious member benefits. If JAgex chooses to give us a poll and try to appease those F2P complaining about updates, then they will do it. There is not point in you complaining aboout what we get. It's Jagex's game, not the members.
  3. ...does this have to come up in every thread? anyway, Ninjas>ducks>penguins>pirates> everything else except vampiric ninjas. vampiric ninjas> everything so...the ducks COULD take over, but only if the ninjas allowed them to.
  4. I guess no one bothered to read my ideas on summoning. Nobody has explained to me why summoning would have to be bad. You cannot honestly say it will be bad without any knowledge of the potential skill. Summoning has worked in other games before and if Jagex wants to make it work, they will. Anyway, can someone read my ideas on summoning and respond to it?
  5. After you finish reading what I have to say, could someone please tell me exactly why summoning would be horrible? Okay, if I were asked by Jagex to make a summoning skill, here's how I would do it. Summoning scrolls would be drops from high lvl humanoids. Or the lower level ones could be bought of of summoning stores. There would be summoning equipment, of course. You can't have a skill and no equipment, after all. Most scrolls would already have been identified by the store owner. The ones that drop from some npc's could not have been identified (unless you have seen it before) and therefore be a surprising strong or weak monster. In order to summon with these types of scrolls, see below. If you use the wrong scroll with the wrong bones, both the bones and the scroll would be engulfed in a strange green fire.Usually. It would be cool if Jagex created new monsters that were only for summoning and would look like strange fusions of the desired monster and the monster's bones that you used. Unfinished scrolls are also a possibility. See below. Summoning equipment examples: Summoning gloves: Must be worn in order to control summoned monster. Upgraded versions would be needed to control certain monsters. Face of the beasts: A mask that must be worn while summoning, resembles summoned monster, somewhat. New options can be utilized with monster. Can be crafted at w/e lvl. If enchanted, can be used to converse with summoned monster. Conversation is not really neccesary, as summoned monster would be able to execute tasks that it was summoned for. It would allow you to talk to other summoned monsters, though. If you wear one that your monster doesn't like, it will turn on you. Non-tradeable except for stores. Amulet of the beasts: must be worn in order to summon monster. after the monster is first summoned, the amulet would be able to store unused monsters for later use. Has a limit of 5 monsters at a time Ring of recognition (or something cooler sounding but with the same meaning): Worn so that monster can recognize it's master. If it isn't worn, some monsters will turn on you. Summoning potion: Can be made in herblore. Must be on person when summoning. When summoning scroll is used with desired monster's bones or body part, potion would be used up and desired monster would appear. Bones/ remains:Bones can be used for almost ALL of the desired monsters. Remains would be better but would not drop as much as bones. Remains would allow the desired monster to be stronger than one summoned with bones, though neither would be as strong as the monster that the summoned one is based on. Record book: a book that keeps an image of every scroll that you've seen and tells what monster it is for. Non-destructible, very valuable, and tradeable. If traded, the information would be known to the player that you traded with and you would lose your knowledge. Can be reprinted for a fee from a summoning NPC ( see below) NPC's: Summoning tutor: teaches you basics of summoning and gives you summoning gloves and record books. Summoning store owner: Sells most summoning necessities. I assume the items I mentioned above would be the tip of the iceberg for items used in summoning. The masks and gloves would be in large amounts, though. (insert name here): Main summoner NPC. Can identify unknown summoning scrolls. First five are free. The price would be balanced enough to make most player think, "is it worth it to pay for it or is the risk low enough for me to try on my own. She would be the only one able to identify unknown summoning scrolls. (insert name here):Sister of above NPC: Heads Summoning guild. Can give you quests that include you identifying unknown scrolls, searching for remains, or using your monsters as bodyguards for a royal figure. There would be stores in the guild. The guild would have a chamber that allowed for: 1: Battles between 2 summoned monsters. Bets can be made on matches. Monsters with a 3 level difference in between could not be bet on. 2:Trading summoning amulets/Amulet lotteries. Kinda like a party room for amulets, without the balloons and dancing knights. And party hats. 3:Species wars: Teleported to an area where your summoned monster participate in mini-games against other species, like capture the flag or something. Maybe like castle wars for monsters. 4: Fight cage: You fight against another player's summoned monster. Similar to duel arena. There would be quests for this skill obviously and I won't go into them because I don't feel like making one up. If you cannot control monster and it's level is close to yours, exactly yours, or higher than yours it will attack you or another target besides the one you chose it to attack. So you gotta be careful. Then again, this could be used as an advantage. Maybe. Options for summoned monster: 1: Attack. This option allows for your monster to attack another monster. A summoned monster cannot attack another player outside the wilderness and the fight cage. Monsters above lvl 70 cannot attack others while in a dungeon and cannot be attacked itself. 2: Carry. Summoned monster will be able to carry most items. Inventory limit is 8 spaces. I suggest filling it with food. 3: Take: If you want an item from your monster's inventory, you right click it and it's inventory pops up in a window similar to the Death screen. Click what you want and it shows up at the top of the window. Click accept. If you have an item in your inventory that matches an item your monster has, right click your item and choose "take". 4: Converse( only available while Face of the beasts is equipped). Listen to what your monster thinks of you. Can also offer clues about scrolls or just various knowledge that it accumulated when it was free. 5: Recede. Calls your monster into amulet. If there is no space it stays out. 6: Inspect. See your monsters stats. Monsters cannot equip items. Monsters cannot drink potions. Monsters only eat certain items. Many times they will eat raw food. Any food they eat will only heal them by 5 hp. They can't eat cooked food. IF their health falls below halfway in battle, they will eat things in their inventory while in battle. Some of these things will HARM the monster. When a monster is summoned, it costs summoning points. These take away from your summoning level. example: lvl 1 imp Summoning lvl:16 cost: 0 Lost points: 0 Lvl 70 jelly Summoning lvl: 89 cost:60 Lost points: 60 you may ask, what about burned bones and ashes? Burned bones will almost always turn into ash. Very rarely and randomly, though, a zombie or ghost will be summoned. It can be spoken to, though it is easily enraged because of it's disturbance. Those with amulets of ghostspeak will be able to talk to ghost for a while before it disappears or attacks you. Zombies attack you. Neither drop any items, though ghosts sometimes offer clues on where to dig for treasure. This is the only way to summon those two beings. Ashes are used to summon imps, lesser demons and greater demons. The chances for demons are very low but steadily rise as you gain summoning levels. The demons would be weaker than normal demons but still strong. Most slayer monsters would be summonable as well as most of the monsters in the bestiary. After reaching a certain lvl in construction, you would be able to station summoned monsters in your POH. They could guard the house and attack players that are not on your friends list. If anyone in your house somehow finds their name on your ignore list, they would be attacked by the closest monster. When the monsters are added to your house, you gain construction xp as well as summoning xp. There is a limit to 3 monsters per room. Summoning monsters, putting them in your house and doing quests raise give you summoning xp. Reading new summoning scrolls also give xp. Certain items when used instead of remains for summoning can sometimes summon random monsters. Unfinished scrolls can would be necessary for this to occur. e.g. unfinished scroll used with leather glove. summon crawling hand. These types of summon would fail almost as much as they succeed. They would be noted in the record book. Everything that I have written is what I would put into summoning as a base.
  6. it's post like these that annoy me. No one has said to this date that they play runescape just for education. Everyone already enjoys it because it is a game. An added bonus is that it can teach you certain RL skills. I never said that everyone is saying they play RS just for educational value. And if anyone said that outright, I'd tell them to sell the computer and join a library. A lot of the posts on what's been learnt come across as "I learned this and this and that makes playing RS okay!" The real joke there is that a large section of the knowledge is either inaccurate or could be better learnt elsewhere. The place where it could be better learned is where people don't want to go. School. :) If you think that lessons should be removed, then you have a bad idea. If leesons were removed from something fun, where would people learn? Teachers try to make their classes fun. If you take lessons from fun things, then teachers are turned into comedians. You should be happy that you are part of something that gives you enjoyment and could teach you.
  7. What if you lost your membership the day before the nuke fell? he would renew his membership smart one -.- how long does that take?
  8. lucky us, an F2P update! graphic changes FTW! dungeon: meh. Clan chat: don't care but could be useful in the far future...when I might join a clan..maybe am I missing anything? As an F2P, I don't really know much about the godwars except their effects on Gielinor. I have always wished for a new godwar, though. The release of the history of the godwars and the updates on them could be signs of a new godwar maybe by next year?
  9. I bet the guy that made this topic doesn't vote on tip.it. anyway, there is nothing wrong with these polls being there. Jagex just wants to make an inquiry on it's players. You don't have to vote for them. Many won't, but many will. Yes, I know, it's kinda insulting to give us a formerly member's feature but still keep the good stuff for members, but chill. It's not hurting you. Maybe if we vote, Jagex will realize the massive voice of the F2P and allow us to make changes in the future? Just a thought.
  10. Yo, I'm Blaze 9555. I've been playing since christmas of '05 and have always been an F2P. As a player of Runescape, I find it unfair that Jagex throws so many items at us that we just can't carry. If you can't [garden tool];d certain items, you can't get the most out of your experience. Today I had my inventory, equipment, and bank maxed out. This is occurring more and more as I play. It is a great nuisance and holds back the game. Jagex needs to understand that we are players and are key in the development of Runescape. They try to appease us by giving out a few updates at a time, and though I am VERY grateful of what we do get, what we need is bank space. And we haven't gotten that. As far as I know, the F2P bank has not grown in years. This tradition of giving only members bankspace has to stop. Jagex is not only causing unrest with the majority of it's players but making bad blood between F2P'ers and members. Sign my name in big bold, italic letters in red ink on this petition of yours.(if you can)
  11. Congratulations! Your Egg level is now 99! You can now grant wishes!
  12. by profit, you mean money right? Because a keylogger creator would technically profit from stealing passes. What if... A guy makes a keylogger and advertises it as an autoer on random youtube videos. Then, aftr stealing the accounts, SELLS the accounts to gold farmers? How much would that ruin the game and Jagex? though, I am a little off topic here.... Anyway, youtube is a free site and is not profiting from Runescape vids, so I guess it's not violating the "fair use" doctrine. If anything, it's free advertising. Of course, Jagex might not like free advertising because of what truths could be distorted about runescape, so that might be a reason that the vids are leaving youtube. but hey, there's always veoh.
  13. you forget one VERY important fact. Ducks can fly and penguins can't! 8-) though, I think that the rats or the men/women of runescape are a safe bet for aspiring world dominators. I mean, c'mon, the rats are EVERYWHERE! As, for the men/women, they are bound to rise up. So many of them are killed by new players and the people want swift vengeance.
  14. Silkroad Online has implemented a bard skill into their game well. Maybe Runescape can follow a similar road. I'm not saying that there is a huge chance of it happening, I'm just saying that it shold be considered as a possibilty, no matter how small a possibilty.
  15. You know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the law. I am a Criminal Justice major. Let me tell you something. I have no double standard, I do not believe it should be called statutory rape. Statutory rape both people CONSENT but one was under the 'legal' age that somebody decided a long time ago was a good age. Do you NOT realize, that it doesn't matter what you think people are forced to say, there would be absolutely no case if they were forced to say something, because of two things. One, if there was no law, and she was actually raped, like people get raped every day, and then threatened for their life, it doesn't matter HOW old they are, its RAPE. Two, if the law is in place, and they were forced to say they consented, it has no bearing on the case, but simply makes them look like they wanted it, and instead of the guy getting a REAL rape charge, they get off lighter. You OBVIOUSLY don't understand the difference between Statutory Rape, and Rape...please read up on it. PLEASE. If somebody is FORCED it is NOT STATUTORY RAPE regardless on the age, it is pure and simple RAPE...Statutory can be used as a fallback, but it is RAPE if it is forced and not consented. That is all, funny that you called me unintelligent, while you have no clue what you are talking about. AGAIN, I will tell you ONE MORE TIME, It is NOT a double standard, and people are threatened every day by REAL rapists, that FORCE themselves on people, while we are focusing on two people that BOTH WANTED to have CONSENSUAL sex. I have no idea why you seem to think differently, read up on your laws. I had a feeling that I would get owned for not reading up... anyway, after reading your post, I can agree with you on a few things. "One, if there was no law, and she was actually raped, like people get raped every day, and then threatened for their life, it doesn't matter HOW old they are, its RAPE." That is true and I don't remember contradicting that statement. "Two, if the law is in place, and they were forced to say they consented, it has no bearing on the case, but simply makes them look like they wanted it, and instead of the guy getting a REAL rape charge, they get off lighter." now that you have so eloquently explained it to me, that probably would happen. "You OBVIOUSLY don't understand the difference between Statutory Rape, and Rape...please read up on it. PLEASE. If somebody is FORCED it is NOT STATUTORY RAPE regardless on the age, it is pure and simple RAPE...Statutory can be used as a fallback, but it is RAPE if it is forced and not consented." I don't know what made it obvious that I don't know the difference, though I'm sure you will tell me after reading this. anyway, I did know the difference and I don't remember stating that they were one and the same. "That is all, funny that you called me unintelligent, while you have no clue what you are talking about." Was that you? I guess I was wrong. Sorry about that. "AGAIN, I will tell you ONE MORE TIME, It is NOT a double standard, and people are threatened every day by REAL rapists, that FORCE themselves on people, while we are focusing on two people that BOTH WANTED to have CONSENSUAL sex." Are you saying that the woman is not a rapist? I believe she was arrested for rape. It seems to not matter if it was consensual (which it might have been given the behavior of teenagers these days) because she was arrested. If it was consensual it still qualifies as rape in this situation. (When I say rape i mean all manners of, if for some reason I am missing out on some other forms than rape and statutory rape.) Basically, what she did was illegal whether you thinks so or not. You most likely believe this. I know what she did was also illegal, or she wouldn't have been arrested because of what she did. It seems to me that you have a problem not with th case at hand but the issue of whether it should be deemed as "rape". If I am right in my assumption, then you shouldn't be arguing about that to us at all. You are criminal Law major. maybe some day you will have enough authority to change the name. Until then, I'm calling it rape and statutory rape. If you don't like it, then YOU don't like it.
  16. (excuse me for not reading past page 4. I don't have mush time to write currently.) No matter how you look at it, no matter what your personal belies are, according to The U.S.A government and most of it's inhabitants (including me) what she did was illegal and wrong. Someone said that even though it is rape, you shouldn't call it rape. I thought was one of the most unintelligent things I have heard on this site. If not rape, then what? Sexual abuse? Taking advantage? It's called rape, so call it rape. It is statutory rape and it is illegal. from what I read, it sounds almost as if some of you are defending this woman. I wonder how many of you actually think that she was right or that she was wrong. I think she was wrong. She broke the law and will be punished for it. We can't have double standards for rapists and rape victims because people lie. People can be forced to say they consent to having sex with rapists. That is why the rule is in place. EDIT: and whoever asked if it's possible for women to rape men, a large amount of rapists are females. I think around 45%, though that may not be true as I heard it on TV.
  17. What if you lost your membership the day before the nuke fell?
  18. * I hold my statement to be universally true. Beggar in Draynor: Spare change? Me: excuse me? BD: please, can I have some stuff? me: why? you can get it yourself. BD: can't I just have a little spare change? Me...There's no such thing as spare change.
  19. After reading the article and 10 pages of response, I...feel the need to say something about everything. (I'll start small) No.1: for the ones cracking on community college, not everyone that is smart can afford to go to a named college. You can be the next Stephen Hawkings, Albert Einstein, or Andrew Gower, it still won't make a difference if you don't have the cash. No.2: I got the feeling that the sister used the addiction as an excuse to leave the house because she was either taking advantage in order to leave or was hiding a pregnancy or drug addiction. and Malo, again, just because you are a certain age doesn't mean you should have a computer. It's a question of money and how much you have. No.3: Someone posted that they knew the afflicted, addicted kid. I am angry at the person for wanting publicity from this tragedy. You say you know the guy. We DON'T CARE! You say you won't release the name. THEN WHY MENTION IT AT ALL! You either know him and want publicity or you don't know him and want to feel important. Either way, you should have stayed quiet. No.4:I feel sorry for this kid. He was either trying to avoid physical or mental trauma in his daily life (possibly stemming from his parent's divorce) or he was not raised well enough to realize the error of his ways. Eitherway, both things are something that neither children nor adults should go through in their lives. Unfortunately, they do (This is earth after all, you can't make it the way you want it). No.5: These have to be one of the poorest excuses for parents in the modern world. (The ones that forgot to feed their children because they were too busy playing games go in the top ten.) What kind of parent doesn't notice the sudden change (if there was one, which i doubt) in their child's behavior? One day he's out in the street, playing with his friends. The next he's in his room as his friends knock on the door asking him to come outside. One has to take into factor that the mother is single and under more stress than the father, but she should still try hard to be active in the child's life. The father should too, it's not like the kid's are no longer his responsibility. They obviously have no discipline over their children and are unaware of the going-ons of their lives. I can't understand how a parent can be oblivious to the fact that your son SKIPPED SCHOOL FOR 2 MONTHS! HOW CAN YOU BE UNAWARE OF THAT! It's disturbing that a parent doesn't notice the physcial/behavioral change of their son. Even more disturbing is the possibility that they knew EXACTLY what was going on and did nothing to stop this behavior. It's probably one of the easiest things to do. PRESS THE OFF BUTTON! I can understand that the parents were afraid of causing their child pain. They probably rationalized that since the divorce, they should let their son try to attain happiness any way he can. They don't want to feel guilty for hurting him emotionally. That's probably why they let him play. But now, when they open their eyes, they see how wrong they were and, not wanting to feel guilty for doing this to their son, THEY BLAME RUNESCAPE! It's an outrage! No.6: I think this article was mocking runescape. As they described the game, it felt like they were saying that millions of people are addicted to it and have no hope. That was unfair and, though it couldn't hold up in court, I think it was slanderous. No.7: many people say that 16 hours is automatic addiction status. While in this boy's case, that was true, maybe you should try tot read this before making assumption. http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=82
  20. Can you give an example of a thread that will be useful to everyone? This thread can be useful in making it's observers amused.
  21. Have you noticed that ducks are close to Lumbridge, the respawn point and the noob city, and by the White Knights headquarters? Coincidence? I think not. ...well, maybe.
  22. it's post like these that annoy me. No one has said to this date that they play runescape just for education. Everyone already enjoys it because it is a game. An added bonus is that it can teach you certain RL skills.
  23. awesome, we have a party room now! as an added bonus, that arrogant woman was evicted!
  24. I would kill that guy that stole my ship for Dragon Slayer. Then I could ride around Gielinor without being a member!
  25. someone on this site must have seen and owned one to have gotten this.
