  1. HOT TOPIC! W0000000000000000T!
  2. This month is okay, i guess. The bounty hunting has no effect on me, as i'm a f2per. Clan wars would excite me...if i were in a clan. Though that update seems a little unnecessary, as we already have the wilderness. looters and such make the game more realistic, plus there is the constant danger of being attacked by the denizens of the Wilderness. Gravestones are just a little decorative addition to the game. since there is no definitive proof that these will stop piles, i won't support that argument. when the proof comes, well, then you won't see me dying anyway. Christmas event, new hat. yay. "We will even be donning our 'serious hats'. Clue, anyone? Dev diary is nice, and can't wait for summoning. even if i'm a f2per, it would be cool to see you members summon Jad in Fally world 1. I always enjoy the letters and galleries, so that's the main thing i'm looking forward to. okay, LOL? that just made my day.
  3. What gives you the right to judge who is honest and respectable using only your eyes? How do you have the power to know who is doing what and where? Why do people have a double standard about this issue? A high leveled player and a low leveled player could BOTH be using bots and you probably wouldn't know which. But I bet you;d go after that lower leveled player just because of the combat level, right?
  4. So based on the way an individual looks, we are allowed to judge them and persecute them? That's saying that profiling is beneficial, which it isn't. Just because someone looks a certain way doesn't mean that they are up to something. They could just be different. Now it is true that some bots typically do look like a low leveled guy with a crazy name that didn't bother to customize the way it looks, but not all people that look like that do. And why should high levels with skill capes get different treatment? They might have used a bot to get the damn thing. I believe that the regular players of runescape shouldn't be allowed to choose who's a bot and who's not, but Jagex should set up a team to hunt these bots. Then we wouldn't have situations like qeltar's and innocent people being reported. The implementation of a team would lessen the fear that players have because they would know that someone is out there making the right decisions. Well, its simple common sense why players discriminate low levels. I certainly scrutinize low level players. Of course, I don't report them, I hate clogging the system with reports that may be false. Lets put it like this (and i'm sure to be flamed for this no doubt.) If there was a terrorist attack in the United States, and you had to review evidence from security cameras, would you suspect a middle aged eastern man more of the deed than the granny walking down the street? Or a 14 year old student? The only fact is that profiling is important to catch these people. And the statement you said about high level autoers getting to their skill capes may be true, but are they RWT's? (Though many of them maybe,) If jagex profiles tthese autoers, (and i hope they do) then good for them. If they don't, they should start doing so. And if they have employed a Ban bashing monkey... I've lost hope. No.1: be more specific in your examples, please. a terrorist attack could come from a Muslim extremist, a group of rebellious, gun-toting students, or a Ku Klux Klan member. Just because some people look and act a certain way doesn't make them bad, it just makes them different. Yes, it is true, that many bots do look a certain way, but that doesn't mean that everyone that looks that way is a bot. As players, we don't have the knowledge or the right to judge who is a bot and who's not based only on the evidence of what a person look like. That's like saying that every middle aged man of South Eastern Asian descent is a terrorist, or saying that every black kid on the corner is a drug dealer. Players shouldn't stereo types other players because these assumptions are not based on substantial evidence. No.2: It doesn't make sense to me why a higher leveled player would discriminate against a lower leveled player. What is there to discriminate about? They are simply people that have been playing for a shorter amount of time than you, or hasn't focused on the combat skills. No.3: If someone doesn't wanna talk or is too busy to talk, then don't report them over that, no matter how they look. If you have relevant evidence that a person is using an autoer or is selling Runescape items for real money, then you should act on it. People are going crazy to get that silver crown and aren't thinking of the harm they could be doing to innocent players. That's why I believe that there should be a team devoted to actually finding bots in game and stopping them. Obviously we can't trust the Runescape population to not be biased.
  5. We shall stand together We shall fight together and, if necessary, We shall fall TOGETHER! Tip.it victory: 12/7/07 Ready your weapons.
  6. a sky renderer would be good only if Jagex changed the way the camera works. allowing it to zoom and to go up or down would be awesome.

  8. I think the ignore list is very useful in that it allows people to not be harassed or have to turn private chat on. I don't think that the fact that you appear online is mean, it actually is beneficial! Let's say that you put some random annoying guy on your ignore list. well he doesn't know that you did that, because there is no notification. but he knows that you are online. So he still thinks that he is harassing you. If he was notified, then he would have an incentive to create a new account just to annoy you. eventually, you'd run out of space if the guy was persistent enough to keep making new accounts. That is why TB@JT made it this way and that is why it should stay that way. Now, in your situation, all you needed to do was politely ask the noob to tone it down and be less talkative. i think it was mean for you to put him on your ignore list instead of trying to ask him to stop. That is more effective and it would teach the noob respect.
  9. ok. good to hear a response so soon.
  10. No.1: i am SO going to be at this event. No.2: Just a plan i thought up for a fight in order to add some organization. don't like it? reject it. don't matter to me. i just wanna FIGHT. [/img]
  11. I've never been killed by a dark wiz... anyway, there are two possible instances that could have been my first, though i can't remember which was. No.1: I was exploring, just like any old noob, and decided to travel into the sewers of varrock. I explored, slaying rats and being happy to be the first to notice the respawning gold. As I traveled deeper, and deeper, i began to feel scared and lost. Then, because my camera was in the wrong position, i was attacked by a zombie. I valiantly tried to defend myself, unable to run away due to my auto-retaliation, and I was killed. In a stinky, dark, sewer. No.2: Also near varrock. I had wondered for a long time what the wildernes had been like and every so often i would stand outside the border (where that ditch is now) and watch the fights. Now, at the time I was using VERY slow computer that often froze whenever the phone rang...or when something fell...or when I blinked. As I'm watching, i see, behold!, a pile of mysterious BRONZE arrows, which i thought were somekind of super pker arrows. I prayed that no one would notice the noob getting the arrows, and i ran. I was only a few squares away, when...it froze...or did it. every few seconds, it would move on to a new picture of my demise. 1st, me getting the arrows, which i realized were bronze. 2nd, some guy running (hopefully) toward something other than me. 3rd said guy attacks. i watch myself die frame by frame, angry that it had only been for a few bronze arrows.
  12. that's a good point. it kinda supports qeltar's argument. even with the 12k per hour, you could still have the 2 way tourney and win up to a million gp. it kinda defeats the alleged "purpose" of the cap.
  13. wow...they might as well give the arena to us f2p. :D besides the 3k thing, this seems like a good update. the tourney will definitely have an effect on runescape players. eventually there will be famous duelers who's names will be as well known as zezima's or uloveme. The graphical update is nice too. party pete's outfit is a little boring... I like the sounds of other people teleporting, so that will be missed. all in all, a nice member's update.
  14. can't really trust wikipedia these days, my greek teacher edited them so they have wrong info in case we use them for our projects.
  15. sorry, you misunderstood me. I meant that a tee as a decoration in a forest would be pointless.. Not all the flags and standards and stuff. i find that those add to environment of the game. but i can't see how the tree does that. oh, and i didn't know that statue had a purpose. you learn something new every day...
  16. So you guys think it's only there for decoration, like the statue near Port Sarim? That doesn't click in my mind, though. (not saying that you're wrong). It just seems like a bad choice. a lone tree that can't be cut down surrounded by others that can. What's the point? decoration? for every tree you cut down, there's another two to be seen. runescape has it's fair share of trees. it doesn't make sense to me why it was put in the game. now that i think about it, i remember seeing this tree when i was a low level player, just starting out. i though nothing of it only that it was weird. So yeah, it has been here for a while, i guess.
  17. Harsh, aren't you? Runescape is one of the best games I've ever played. I can't agree with you calling it a "cesspool" and declaring that it needs "salvaging". Runescape is at it's peak right now. You have to understand that the very limitations you speak of are probably what's causing the updates to go slower. I'm no computer whiz, but i can guess that it takes a while to make create, design, and implant all that they put into this game. Plus, they don't exactly have the biggest workforce in the business. It sounds like you're implying that jagex doesn't give a [cabbage] about it's players and that's totally out of line. You want a game like that, play SRO. Runescape has a tight community that's spawned many devoted players like those here at tip.it. Also, how can you blame Mechscape for causing these so called "problems" that you speak of. Number one, barely any work has been put into mechscape as far as we know. Do you honestly believe that Runescape declined because one of their employees drew some concept art? Number two. There would most likely be an entire other group of workers designing mechscape and that wouldn't affect runescape. Stop whining. This is another one of those "good old days" topics in disguise. If you don't like the game that you've played for five years, then maybe you shouldn't play anymore. simple as that. Don't grab for answers in the dark trying to explain why runescape isn't the way you envision it to be. It is what it is and it won't go back to what it was. Deal with it.
  18. I found this thing while i was walking to lumby. i never take the goblin route so obviously I had never seen this tree before. What is it? is it some kind of glitch? or is it's purpose to attract bots? give me your thoughts. if you've seen it before, what did you think of it.
  19. Even in the highest mountains and the coldest places, the only time the wind blows is when there is a two handed sword in your hands.
  20. No, you are. I kind of agree. I don't think you can call Jagex perverted because you're the one who put them in that order. lolz... i wish i had a quote, ut all the good f2p ones are taken.
  21. DO THE CHRISTMAS EVENT DARNIT!!! (i joined during christmas 05) AND LEARN TO CRAFT AND MINE!!!
  22. WIN. also, i wish that there were a way to enchant all clothes so that they could have spells or curses on them. for example: enchanting an addy plate but giving it a 0 defense bonus. or enchanting a priest robe and giving it a 50 defense bonus.
  23. I think that for everyone at least once, the worst possible place is the wilderness. Even people that are kinda high leveled and are nowhere near anyone else gets scared. i'm a wilderness traveler (not a pker, a traveler) and I honest;y get scared in nervous while i am there. the only ok part of the wildy is the east coast.
