Mining granite till 85
I am F2P so I have no experience with mining granite. However, I can gain around 45-50k mining xp per hour using iron. Granite gives more xp than iron so I assume that you will be able to get more xp than that. You can easily gain over 100k xp if you play more than 2 hours a day.

Much experience an hour powermining?
I've managed 50k mining xp per hour mining at the Al Kharid mine. Just go to any busy world that's not too crowded at the mine. Mine three iron ores and then drop them, if you do it quick enough you will have just enough time to click on the rocks again right when the ores respawn. Usually your xp/hour will go up if you mine for longer periods of time. You'll be routinely clicking the same spots over and over again, so your timing should get quicker.

Which is faster?
A faster way to raise fishing/cooking would be to fly fish at barbarian village and bank at edgeville. It is much faster xp for fishing and you will be able to raise cooking without wasting lobbies from burning. You should bank all your fish and then cook them all at once. Time is wasted if you cook after every full load and then go back to fish once you dropped the ones that you burned. Feathers can be bought relatively cheaply from the Lumbridge chicken farm for around 2-5 gp from lower leveled players.

Any good things to merchant?
You can buy feathers at the Lumbridge chicken farm for 2-5 gp ea from low level players. Then just go to Varrock West Bank and sell for 10 gp ea. There are always people killing chickens in F2P worlds; I managed to get 10k feathers in around 15-20 minutes.

Doors!!(and the noobs who close them)
Yes Jagex did try preventing door spammers by making a 1 second delay between the opening and closing of doors. However, many players with slow connections can't get through the doors even with the second delay because of lag. Jagex should have made a longer delay time IMO.

why i should stay f2p
Why not? Ultimately the decision is up to you.

how long does mining take?
Well since you are gathering ores to raise you smithing level it will take considerably more time to raise your mining level. Smithing takes a lot of dedication at the higher levels especially since it seems that you plan to mine all the ores yourself. If you play 3 to 4 hours a day you can easily get 100K+ mining experience during that time. Powermining is the fastest method, but you will not be able to bank your ores. It all comes down to experience vs. money.

strange, new scam maybe?
Yes I have gotten one of those messages as well. I just ignored the person and didn't click the link.

Fastest mining xp?
If you mine iron it's also good to go to a crowded world so that the ores respawn faster. I average around 45-50K mining xp per hour at the three Al Kharid iron rocks.

85 mining
The 3 iron rocks in the Al Kharid mine are the best to mine for fastest XP. I average around 45K mining XP/hour there. Just go to any busy world you can find that doesn't have someone already mining the rocks there.

the least updated skill
The only mining update I have experienced in my RS career is the emote change. Mining also takes a good amount of time to raise because you can only get one ore per rock and the ores give little XP compared to other skills.

What did YOU Achieve This summer? (Hot Topic FTW!)
The only real summer goal I wanted was 85 mining for rune ore. It was alot easier than I though it would be.

Random Event: Mime
Yes, you can get the Mime event as a free player.

wats better fly fishing or bait fishing
It all comes down to monetary vs. experience gains. I support experience because when you get to such high levels later on making money will not be a problem.

Will it take long? profit or loss
You don't necessarily need to make the money back by mining. If you can make the money back faster in a different skill, then you should do that. Mining the addy ore while powermining breaks up the autonomous clicking but it slows down the rate of mining XP that you receive. Ideally to get the most XP in the shortest amount of time you should only mine the iron rocks, drop all items gotten from randoms, and mine in a busy world. Having good reflexes and clicking fast helps as well. However, the strategy that you want to use ultimately depends on whether you want the fastest mining XP (around 45K XP/hour) or want to make money while sacrificing optimum XP gains. (1.165M = 1165 addy ores if sold @ 1K each. There are only 2 addy rocks in the desert mine.)

100 AAARRRRRGGGGHHHH moments
The mining emote constantly slowing down powermining in the Al Kharid Chasm Mine. You click on a new rock to mine right after getting an ore and the mining animation keeps going for another half second or so before switching to the other rock you clicked -.- .

training spots
You could also fight flesh crawlers and zombies in the SoS level 2. You will get faster XP there but they don't drop big bones like the hill giants.

Merchant or Mine? F2P Money
1. Rune mining isn't hard if you know what you're doing, and it doesn't take very long to actually get the ore from the rock. When I was 85 mining the time it took to mine one rune ore was about equal to the time it took me to mine one addy ore. Finding rune rocks that still have the ore can be tough, as there are only two f2p rocks in the entire game.

Monday Poll: How many skills have you mastered?
No, it even says it in the poll question. In parenthesis it says "(You can do every action in it)". You don't need a 99 to be able to do every action in a certain skill. The skills I've mastered: Hitpoints (?) Woodcutting Mining

What is the most you have lost when you died?
I've lost a few rune ores several times while mining the rune rocks. Other than that, the most I've lost while PKing is probably a rune scimmy. I don't PK much.
-
Favorite skill?
Mining for me, probably the only skill I've actively trained since I started playing RuneScape.
-
Are You A Famous Tip.It'er?
No, I don't think I'm famous.
-
leveling some stats
I train on the mosses in the Varrock sewers for the prayer XP and drops but when they get crowded I usually go the Flesh Crawlers in the SoS level 2. The Zombies in the same level are also good for training, at least for me, because they drop steel arrows. I've gotten well over 3k steels from them in one day.

Random Event combat level change?
Quick question: Does anyone know when the random event's combat levels change from the 120s to the 159s?
